Rep. Rob Andrews (D-N.J.) plans to resign from Congress later this month to take a job with a Philadelphia law firm, according to a senior House aide familiar with his plans.

Andrews has faced allegations that he violated House rules and federal law by using campaign funds to pay for personal trips to Scotland and Los Angeles and by using a graduation party for his daughter to raise campaign cash.

A report released in 2012 detailed how in May 2011 Andrews initially used personal funds to pay roughly $16,500 for four business-class airplane tickets for himself, his wife and two daughters to attend a wedding in Scotland. Andrews later had the money refunded and paid for the tickets with funds from his leadership PAC and has generally denied any wrongdoing.

The Office of Congressional Ethics report, which was released by the House Ethics Committee, said that Andrews “refused to provide requested documents” to investigators related to his travels and provided credit card statements only “after making significant redactions.”

Andrews denied the charges Friday, noting in a statement that the ethics panel “has reached no conclusion on this matter.” He added that “the record will show that I have followed all rules and met all standards of the House.”

News of Andrews's plan to resign was first reported by the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Andrews is the eighth House Democrat and the 26th member of Congress to announce plans to leave office this year. Ten House Republicans have died, announced plans to retire or to seek higher office.

Sure, there is. If he did what is alleged, he should be in big trouble.

We demand more punishment!

I see that Democrat Andrews nominated 24 men and women to the Nation's military service academies in 2012. In 2013, he nominated 29 men and women. In 2014, 35 more. He has been nominating men and women to the military service academies for decades! Shouldn't the ethics committee sense a Democrat conspiracy to undermine the military? To keep America safe, the Republicans ought to consider a court-martial for all of them serving the country because of the possibility of their guilt by association with Andrews. And to balance the budget, make them pay back the cost of their educations at military service academies. It is only prudent. And while they are at it, cancel every law Andrew voted for and make into active law every law bill he voted against.

Punish, punish, punish. Can't get enough.

The Republicans should demand that the military academies be defunded and shut down!

Meanwhile, there absolutely should be an investigation into these allegations against this dude, and if he's found guilty, he should be fined and he should be put in prison, hopefully for a very long time.

Of course, had he been a Republican, our conservative friends here would have quickly labeled this a "kangaroo court" and insisted that there really was nothing to see here and that it was all just political shenanigans by "the Left."

Yep! I guess sarcasm doesn't translate too well for some.

Lying about ObamaCare.

Lying about Benghazi

Targeting of Americans via the IRS for their political views.

Bringing trumped up charges against directors who make movies about the Left's lord and savior, to harass and silence any and all dissent.
