Quote: excerpted from OrwellianTimes UPDATE: Here's a search on Project Vote Smart which looks for Bush saying "let me finish" in his public statements.[*] Boy, he says it a lot.
Quote: excerpted from OrwellianTimes UPDATE 3: Here's a link to a tape from CNN with the weird voice.[*] While the voice sounds different, the inflections sound exactly the same -- to me. I think it's some technical out-of-synch thing, but . . .

It wouldn't suprise me if it was a wire - more to coach and help then to feed W line by line would be my assumption - but it'd only be amusing, and not much else. Quote: From NYT at http://www.nytimes.com/2004/10/09/politics/campaign/09bulge.html?oref=login The Mystery of the Bulge in the Jacket By ELISABETH BUMILLER WASHINGTON, Oct. 8 - What was that bulge in the back of President Bush's suit jacket at the presidential debate in Miami last week? According to rumors racing across the Internet this week, the rectangular bulge visible between Mr. Bush's shoulder blades was a radio receiver, getting answers from an offstage counselor into a hidden presidential earpiece. The prime suspect was Karl Rove, Mr. Bush's powerful political adviser. When the online magazine Salon published an article about the rumors on Friday, the speculation reached such a pitch that White House and campaign officials were inundated with calls. First they said that pictures showing the bulge might have been doctored. But then, when the bulge turned out to be clearly visible in the television footage of the evening, they offered a different explanation. "There was nothing under his suit jacket," said Nicolle Devenish, a campaign spokeswoman. "It was most likely a rumpling of that portion of his suit jacket, or a wrinkle in the fabric." Ms. Devenish could not say why the "rumpling" was rectangular. Nor was the bulge from a bulletproof vest, according to campaign and White House officials; they said Mr. Bush was not wearing one.

Quote:Credible news organizations have taken a serious look at that and decided not to run the story," said Bush campaign spokesman Scott Stanzel. "People have been spending too much time dealing with Internet conspiracies. It's ridiculous." Still, the bulge drew the attention on Saturday of respected mainstream dailies The New York Times and The Washington Post. "The Mystery of the Bulge in the Jacket," was the headline on the brief Times item which accompanied its extensive coverage of Friday's second presidential debate in St Louis, Missouri. The Post ran a much longer story under the headline: "Bulge Under President's Coat in First Debate Stirs Speculation." Political web logs, or blogs, have been buzzing about the bulge since the first presidential debate in Miami on Sept 30. The rectangular protrusion in the middle of Bush's back is visible in news photos and television footage Was Bush being coached during his debate with Kerry? When I was watching the debate, I remember Bush saying "let me finish", but it went by so quickly I didn't think much about it. Then I saw Jon Stewart's Daily News Show that highlighted it watched and listened to the entire debate again and I believe somebody was communicating with him. The "let me finish" was the proof positive but I as I watched, I realized that is the reason his speaking patterns are so annoying to me. I noticed that when he is listing items, he gives one, then a long pause ...Bush said: "And that's not how a commander-in-chief acts..." Then he stumbled over himself, sputtering incomprehensible sounds. Then, in an annnoyed tone, he snarled: "Now let me finish!" Two points about that "Now let me finish!": 1. He seems genuinely irritated, as though someone had just interrupted him. 2. In fact, no-one had interrupted him. Was he addressing Jim Lehrer? No, because the odd interjection came long before the flashing lights warned that his 90 seconds were up. Neither Lehrer nor Kerry had attempted to jump in. Bush's expression of irritation appears to have been directed at someone speaking to him, someone unheard by anyone else in the room. This theory goes a long ways toward explaining the president's consistently odd speech patterns -- the cavernous pauses punctuating sharp volleys of sound. It should be noted that this is not the first time sharp observers have found reason to accuse Bush of using an earpiece During the Presidential Debate Bush made what may be his most costly error- he exposed that he’s using an earpiece to help him answer debate questions. In the middle of an answer bush said, "now let me finish" as if someone was interrupting him - yet nobody did - he was talking to the person in his earpiece. The ’let me finish’ quip was clearly bush talking to someone (probably Rove) in his earpiece- saying ’let me finish’ (before you give me the next answer). He blows it 60 seconds into his 90 second reply- so no warning lights had gone off and the moderator had not motioned for him to end as there was plenty of time left. . Here's a small clip from the Bush / Kerry debate. As you can see from the video clip the wire / wrinkle has been Good for Bush http://www.pleasurecaptains.com/favor/howsmall.html . The debates were a good way to see what each of them had thought about the next few months, what had gone before and the future. Bush made a big mess of the first debate and polls have put Kerry ahead since. Here's a small clip with highlights from the Bush / Kerry debate http://www.ericblumrich.com/wmf/switch.wmv Small video clip of Kerry / Bush debate It will be a very close election. ... news from Turkish paper and Minneapolis-star http://www.turkishpress.com/turkishpress/news.asp?ID=30226 http://www.startribune.com/stories/587/5023828.html
