I submit to the RWED, for Your approval......

Don't get me wrong....

Elton John.... Sir Elton John, is a great man with many great and meaningful songs in his discography. Of his vast library that is still played on radio stations and retail outlets, the two most vile songs he ever made that still persist, IMO, are Benny and the Jets and The Crocodile Rock.....

Here it is, in all it's infamy :)

Truly.... just about as gag-reflex indulging as any Tween shit today, right?????

Meanwhile, System of a Down made a song that I actually grew up with in my middle 20's and I know my seriously sick brother loved. Think "White Hate Group", but with enough HR and PR influences as to make it accessable to tattooed men and women of all colors.....

I know some of the "music" my brother is REALLY into.... let's just call this his "light beer"....

Now.... Try playing both of these unlikely candidates for Brothers at the same time and it sounds like shit......

Bear with me now though.....

Take the two of them, shake them up, and with a "producer" and team to make a video this F-ING awesome they should be making 200k a year a piece at least, this is the birth of that unholy union.....

I hope you get it now, and I look forward to your thoughts about it!

Much love,
6

What I did not understand was the women's lyrics. They sounded incoherent.

Good on you for hearing woman's lyrics.....

I didn't hear any.

I'm thinking that the part of my eardrums that heard such noises had already died off.

According to Children of Men, it's already been decided...

"That ringing in your ears.... That's the "swan's song" for that particular frequency. Enjoy it while it lasts because when that ringing stops, you will never again experience any voice or sound at that particular frequency.

It's entirely possible that going on 35 years old now that I've never heard any female vocals to this song whatsoever....

Enlighten us :)

I'm just saying now, that if I didn't have to drive and there was beer provided that wasn't Hamm's Beer, I'd gladly rock the mic possibly being the first person to ever sing Chop Suey to The Crocodile Rock.... live!

I love YouTube :)

So now that it's all explained, there's still no laughs?

I get the Rookie not laughing. He's still shitting yellow, no more offense than intended, and nothing personal Mikey.

90% of the people here know Elton John. Fact.

80% of the people here know System of a Down. Fact.

At least 65% of us were in High School when either was hugely popular. Fact.

That still leaves at least a 20% overlap of people in any given situation that would appreciate this video, at the very least.

Nevermind... Whatever.

I'm watching Ellie Goulding's "Lights" now, and it's infinitely more interesting than any of the conversations we all have here.

If you love this song, here's a link to a VERY high quality version of just the CD lyrics....

Do Right, Be Right. :)

That voice.....

Honestly, I couldn't imagine being able to say no to any of her whispers.

Some people consider "foreplay" only the little bit of fun before rutting and hopefully both getting off....

Ellie's voice in her songs is a better acronym for life-changing foreplay....

Teasing.... Teasing... Teasing, when you're alone.

Foreplay, I believe, for a woman is being able to manipulate her chosen man in a playful, seductive and non-destructive way.

Foreplay, I believe, for a man, is no more or no less than being Twitterpated.........

Yes, and I'm not at all talking about the social network, but I wouldn't be surprised if Twitter and Disney merged and it was part of their ad campaign on the Disney channel.

The Girlz gotta play some games. They need to mesmerize their men and realize that foreplay can come days or even weeks before they're allowed to do what they're perfectly capable of doing themselves.

I know a few ex's that look so sexy after one or two kids, but their marriages are unhappy.

That doesn't make sense to me. Not only did they spit out one or two or three kids, but they're fit and trim and ready for more.

That is to say that I DO understand it in a way, since regular monogamous marital bliss loses its novelty after 2 months, but it doesn't have to be that way.

This is a call to all the Ladies in the RWED.

I'm a goddamned genius as a Jack of all trades, but I'm not a CIA operitive or MI6. Seduction is not part of my wheelhouse. For most men, it's not supposed to be. I basically had pussy falling on my lap when I was 22, and even got the nickname "pretty boy" by the "one that got away". I always hated that nick-name, but I never told anybody to stop calling me that because I never wanted to stop hearing her giggle when we'd talk on the phone or meet at a party.

We'd have probably been married at least 5 years if I didn't get wasted one night at a party and make out with her younger sister....

Right now. I'm 34 going on 80.....

I'm a fucking catch. I'm still attractive even with how much I abuse myself. I have zero bills at the beginning of the month. Just gas and electric and water/trash. That's it.

RWED Ladies, or any Ladies in general....

I wanna know what love is. I want you to show me.

I haven't loved a Girl in about 12 years, for realz....

I miss that part of my life.

I wish I cared one tiny ounce about anyone.

That's not narcisustic. I don't care all that much about myself either....

I wish I knew what was wrong with me. I should have the world by the balls, but I sit in idle and watch years pass me by.

I wanna change.

I wanna feel emotions I haven't felt in over a decade.

I wanna know what love is.......

Which song, Junior.

I posted about 4 of them in this particular bender.

Not a single one of them were close to disco. I hate disco too, but I don't believe you really hate Disco because I'm not entirely confident you know what Disco is.

Actually Chris, thanks for clearing that up.

I grew up hearing the name Donna Summer, but never looked her up. I really don't like disco or musicals like Grease or even the South Park musical. The only musical I could watch today and enjoy is Little Shop of Horrors with Rick Moranis and Steve Martin.

Maybe Ellie Goulding's sound is very much like Disco.... I dunno.

I just like the way it sounds. She's like a hypnotic mermaid perched upon a foul shore stacked upon a coral reef.

Of course it's doom to follow that voice, but I can't think of anything I'd rather be doing at this moment....

How does nobody get this? Am I the only person here to bridge generational gaps that are so far that we're basically speaking foreign languages to each other?

I STILL laugh when I see this song.

I pity the Folk who can't....

EDITED TO ADD:

Ellie Goulding seriously has the most hypnotic singing voice of ANY Woman prior to Her.

Ellie Goulding

Disco does vary a bit but any song that goes boom, boom, boom, boom as its pace keeper is no doubt disco. It is club music from the 70's. Here is a Donna Summer song that does as Ellie Goulding's "Lights" when it gets past the intro. It goes boom, boom, boom. It works great for dancing in a club but shows no collaboration between singer and band. P.S. half pint, I am 59 years of age so junior does not apply to me.

Haha.....

Tu-sche, Senior, which I only say in respect to my elders, not that you've earned it outside of that yet.

I'm thinking our own personal definition of "Disco" is the root of our inability to agree on this issue.

As much as you seem to dislike Ellie Goulding, or at least her song Lights, I equally hate HOT STUFF.... I actually am still listening to it now as I post this and my face is grimacing while listening. I absolutely hate Disco. I can't even think of a listenable Disco song by bands that have made other songs I like.

(I just came back with a beer and it's still going. Thought it was a loop until I see it's a miserable 47 minutes long! Sorry... I have to stop it now. :()

Knowing that you're 59 explains a lot of it for me though. When disco got big you were in your late teens and twenties. You were rocking out with some great music and all of the sudden the kids were listening to this "crap". When I was a senior in HS, all of the freshman came in listening to rap music and we just made fun of them.

We've been through much different generations and shifts in music. Even though you're nearly twice my age, you haven't gone through much more change because except for recent songs that sound like what you used to love you haven't likely evolved sonically for the better part of two decades.

Maybe I'm wrong.... And I accept that too.

All I'm saying is that I LOATHE Disco and I LOVE Lights.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

Sonically, disco goes boom, boom, boom. Like I said, it is great for in the clubs because it is good to dance to. There is disco I can enjoy and rap as well. It just has to be very well done. I love classical like the greats from the past. Beethoven, Bach, up to progressive today, i.e. the Current. That is a progressive radio station in MN. I like or appreciate all kinds of music, it just has to have a hook that works.
I used to play the drums and my friends and I would build our own speaker boxes. I have always loved music but will admit the last decade I have kind of lost touch. I heard part of one song by Ellie Goulding. I would be a jerk to suggest she sucks. I just did not like the song you posted.

Here is something very well done.
