Oh Gee, YA THINK ?!!

They know damn well, fucking EXACTLY what their fate is if they continue on this path, and they're scared shitless of it, even with a suborned government and its entire military to protect them from the consequences of those actions cause they're starting to realize both of the latter are full of people.
People their own actions have fucked.

That's a good piece. Sadly, that does seem to be the attitude of the "job creators," and exactly what will lead them to the guillotine (in some form).

How many times are you going to try to control the actions of a group of people?? Yer just not getting it, hon.

The OP article: Why American Conservatives Are Suddenly Freaking Out About Guillotines

Subtitled: Are they afraid the people’s patience is not endless?

I sure never expected anything like this to come up. I read the article.
Historically, it's true: The People’s patience is not endless.

However, my own sense of it is: TPTB are smart enough to keep us entertained.
And give us just enough to do to feel valid. That can work.

Well. This thread went interesting places in a sudden and all caps way.

Re the OP: there is definitely a rising awareness. I won't say it's heading towards guillotines though, and I certainly hope not. Besides all that unpleasant death stuff, I don't think it'd be effective.

The problem I have with this "kill the oligarchs" idea is that the oligarchs are not some other kind of being. They're human, same as the rest of us. Say you had a brain-exploding beam that you could target to the 1% and wipe them out entirely. So what? S new exploiting caste will take over. The people aren't the problem. The system is. The system has to change.

Money out of politics is #1. Actually, ending the worship of money is #1. It is easily accepted these days that you should do anything and everything to have more money, to have more stuff. Every activity involves money changing hands. The value of a person is rated in money, how much they have, how much they are paid. Punishment is often done by taking away money. If you don't like a person, you don't spend money on the product they're selling. We put people in power not by voting with ballots, but by spending money on their products.

There ought to be an anti-money day, when the goal is to find something to do, a way to enjoy your day, that involves no money changing hands. It's near impossible. And that's not an accident. This worship of money has been injected into the system by those who get a cut from it.

I think the best rebellion would be to get out of the hamster wheel of money money money. Stop living in debt (so a huge chunk of your paycheck goes directly to the banks), stop buying every new trinket that comes out. Stop jumping at every dollar bill or shiny object.

That would crash the system faster than a whole herd of guillotines.

Yeah, that was my rant of the day in general in chat...

[17:17] Wishimay: News articles for YOU:

[17:18] Wishimay: Pay off your mortgage in half the time like these guys who make twice as much as you and inherited lots (but we won't put that in the article, it's in the comment section- posted by a bitter family member)

[17:19] Wishimay: YOU too can save tons of money NOT having a car (nevermind that it's twice as expensive to live in a city with public transportation!)

[17:20] Wishimay: YOU too can eat things you find for free in public parks (just wipe off the pesticides and dog poo before you do)

[17:21] Wishimay: *sigh It's all CRAP.

[17:21] Wishimay: mindless mindfucking crap.

[17:22] Wishimay:

[19:06] Wishimay: I keep asking myself who writes the bloody fitness articles. Who would WANT to but some paid government lackey?? Who could possibly give that much of a damn about other people's health? And who keeps saying

[19:07] Wishimay: "Your health problems will bring down this country"

[19:09] Wishimay: What kind of a numbnuts would even THINK that? Aren't the people who are on heroin, the people that go on rampages shooting people, the people who bash kids heads in- aren't THEY the bastards? Not to mention ALL THE PEOPLE IN JAILS. If everyone would stop going to jail we could LIVE on the MOON for all the money we'd be saving...Why doesn't ANYONE ever SAY THIS STUFF????

[19:10] Wishimay: It's the hypocracy of this country and others like it that I HATE. It's the idiots that BUY INTO the crap that I hate!!!!!

Buying into the Crap is normal. Thinking, learning? Not so much.

My one neighbor loves Reality TV. He truly believes it's spontaneous, not scripted.

My other neighbor told me that all TV documentaries are true. "They wouldn't put
them on TV if they weren't."

If I talk history with the 1st neighbor, it's a chore, 'cause he doesn't know any.
With the 2nd neighbor, history is whatever the documentaries showed, whether she
understood/remembers any of it or not.

Most people, perhaps, are living in a TV-created fantasyland. It's as if we watched
Firefly with credulity. Walking down the street, I happen to see Nathan Fillion;
of course, I ask him to show me Serenity -- is she parked at the local air port?
Most of the 99% are clueless & dedicated to their ignorance.

The People who can think but are not part of the 1% ... we're on our own.
Need some new/renewed, effective ways of working & coping.

Example: Got no Money? Barter.

Talked to an otherwise nice young guy in chat last year, and he reluctantly admitted that he gets depressed on a regular basis because he doesn't get to be a superhero and rescue people and have their admiration. Believe it or not, I didn't realize THAT was a real problem with ACTUAL people until that day.

Oh I am well aware that Robespierre became the very thing he hated and as a result wound up thrown headfirst (pun totally intended) into the very machine he created, sure - actually I find that kind of amusing in an ironic and demented way.

His mistake was coming at it top down, ass backwards, IMHO.

You cannot deal with the issue of broken and sociopathic people by knockin em off without addressing the causes which create them, hell even trying just fosters the very conditions which create em, same way trying to kill off Blackrose/Darkhearted inevitably spawns more, same way that blowing up so-called-terrorists inevitably creates more....

You *HAVE* to address the conditions by which these individuals come about, the misery, deprivation and suffering which creates them in the first place, or all you're doing is just switching out one poison for another, I've said that time and time again.

But therein lies the issue - TIME.
It takes time and patience to do such things, time that a lot of folks feel we do not have because of the hellbent determination to destroy all they cannot control on behalf of those in power now, and ergo, a lotta folks feel the need to "clear the deck" to buy time - problem is, as revolutionary ideas go that's doomed to failure and will kneecap itself by the nature of the thing, I am not at all unaware of this.

But, yanno, I am not exactly hell bent towards stoppin it, neither.
More like looking for a good seat and a bucket of popcorn, you understand, cause what else can one do when no one listens to reason and thus all agency of sanity is removed thanks to them in power creating the conditions of their own destruction and never understanding why or how because they can't ?

In the what? No she's not.

Hell. I'm closer to being bipolar than she is. She has psychotic major depression.

She's also blind, which had a much bigger impact on how everyone thought she was trying to control them. She HAS to control things in her life, she has to know where everything is all the time and know where she is and ask people to help her because she couldn't SEE. And frankly, while she's bossy, I've seen a lot worse around here than her.

She's not even here so I don't see the point in attacking her like that. Was that intended for me? Calling me manipulative and controlling? Were you trying to draw me out? You did so.
