Your whole premise that it is wrong to confront someone who is rude and obnoxious yet it is OK to confront someone who is not, sounds ignorant and contradicting to me.

Quote:Originally posted by MAL4PREZ: Well. This thread went interesting places in a sudden and all caps way. Re the OP: there is definitely a rising awareness. I won't say it's heading towards guillotines though, and I certainly hope not. Besides all that unpleasant death stuff, I don't think it'd be effective. The problem I have with this "kill the oligarchs" idea is that the oligarchs are not some other kind of being. They're human, same as the rest of us. Say you had a brain-exploding beam that you could target to the 1% and wipe them out entirely. So what? S new exploiting caste will take over. The people aren't the problem. The system is. The system has to change. Money out of politics is #1. Actually, ending the worship of money is #1. It is easily accepted these days that you should do anything and everything to have more money, to have more stuff. Every activity involves money changing hands. The value of a person is rated in money, how much they have, how much they are paid. Punishment is often done by taking away money. If you don't like a person, you don't spend money on the product they're selling. We put people in power not by voting with ballots, but by spending money on their products. There ought to be an anti-money day, when the goal is to find something to do, a way to enjoy your day, that involves no money changing hands. It's near impossible. And that's not an accident. This worship of money has been injected into the system by those who get a cut from it. I think the best rebellion would be to get out of the hamster wheel of money money money. Stop living in debt (so a huge chunk of your paycheck goes directly to the banks), stop buying every new trinket that comes out. Stop jumping at every dollar bill or shiny object. That would crash the system faster than a whole herd of guillotines. *-------------------------------------------------* What trolls reveal about themselves when they troll: http://fireflyfans.net/mthread.aspx?bid=18&tid=57532 *-------------------------------------------------*

Oh Gee, YA THINK ?!! They know damn well, fucking EXACTLY what their fate is if they continue on this path, and they're scared shitless of it, even with a suborned government and its entire military to protect them from the consequences of those actions cause they're starting to realize both of the latter are full of people. People their own actions have fucked. I will not shed a bitter tear. -Frem
