Sometimes you own the libs. Sometimes, the libs own you.

One of those quizzes that categorises you into one of a series of distinct groups. We had one posted here a while back and it was lousy, but I think this one is better: http://www.people-press.org/quiz/political-typology/

I am: 'Next Generation Left'

"Generally young, well-educated and financially comfortable, the Next Generation Left have very liberal attitudes on many issues, including homosexuality, abortion, the environment and foreign policy. While overall supportive of an activist government, most are wary of expanding the social safety net. Most also have relatively positive views of Wall Street’s impact on the economy. While most affiliate with the Democratic Party or lean Democratic, few consider themselves strong Democrats."

Ramro cha.

I can up Solid Liberal.

Generally affluent and highly educated, most Solid Liberals strongly support the social safety net and take very liberal positions on virtually all issues. Most say they always vote Democratic and are unflagging supporters of Barack Obama. Overall, Solid Liberals are very optimistic about the nation’s future and are the most likely to say that America’s success is linked to its ability to change, rather than its reliance on long-standing principles. On foreign policy, Solid Liberals overwhelmingly believe that good diplomacy – rather than military strength – is the best way to ensure peace

I did find that the way the questions were worded pinned me into different answers than I wanted to give. I would like to have been given the opportunity to tweak the question. I also do not see myself fitting the narrative so neatly as stated above. Some not all.

Look at 'IDEOLOGICAL PLACEMENT' in the analytics below the paragraph and it will tell you how well you fit within your particular group. It could be you were on the border with something else.

It's not personal. It's just war.

I did and posted it above. Like I said I am much more to the middle and could tell because I was mostly forced to chose between two answers I did not like, so I pick the more liberal ones.

Below the paragraph you posted were lots of graphs - a breakdown of how you compare to your group and the general public. That's what I was referring to.

It's not personal. It's just war.

Dude, I read the whole page. I saw all the graphs. I still did not like the options I had in answering the questions. They were way to narrow in scope.

Which means this test is bullshit.

What's the point? You've already identified the crippling and predictable shortcomings of an online exam such as this.

And chances are anyone who bothers to take the quiz either already know what they will be, or they're a misfit with the political-ideological spectrum in general. And in both cases, the test is less than informative.

Basically I refuse to enable propaganda that claims that the left-right spectrum is the only spectrum, or even the only spectrum that matters. I'm off those charts. Here be dragons.

What's more, I will not put such valuable and personal and potentially red-flag generating information out on the internet when I don't know who's asking, what they want, why they want it, and who else has access.

In short, no thanks.

Nonsense Byte. EVERYONE on this site is red flagged already thanks to key words used by ALL of us. Not taking a survey is your choice, but not taking it has no effect on your being on 'their' radar or not IMO.
Have you ever Googled your real name? I have mine. Privacy of any kind is ruttin' gone. Totally fucking vanished.

Yes.

I was and remain a ghost. Mostly because I have an innate sense that allows me to sniff out datamining and phishing schemes, whereupon I avoid them.

You're right about that. I have restraining orders against me from Angela Cartwright, Hayley Mills, and Shelley Fabares and I've never even been near any of them. But somehow they just know!

I agree with your sentiment except my identity is pretty secure at this point and the answers I gave do not label me bad. By taking it I can assure the rest here it is flawed.

There is a difference in confronting someone’s ignorance on a topic and pointing out the nonsense of what they post, and having an intelligent exchange of ideas. You did not understand it then and seemingly still don’t. I was pointing out your ignorance, not in my opinion having an intelligent exchange of ideas.

What you posted here is not representative of my compassion for others. That quote is taken out of context. It was in response to posts by you that were off point and not what I was speaking about at the time.

But hey, that is what you do is it not?

It is information that may potentially indicate which regimes you might be trouble for. The wrong group with access to that information could cause you a lot of trouble.

You once spoke in favour of tea party groups. Do you think it was coincidence that those groups were more targeted for audits by the IRS than other groups?

I am decidedly neutral on political groups and parties, and even I can tell that wasn't a coincidence - though admittedly it might have more to do with the fact that the tea partiers are particularly anti-tax that they attracted IRS attention. Still.

They give me "Hard Pressed Skeptic", of which 62% voted for Obama and only 23% for Romney.

That makes sense, because as disinfranchised as I was in 2008 and 2012, I didn't just vote for "the black guy" because it was cool.

Obama is SUCH a bad president that he set the black movement back at least the 8 years he was in office, but more like 50 years.

I think we'll see an Indian born Woman president before we see another black male in this country.

Thanks again asshole.

Thanks for making me fill out an extra yearly tax form to legally exempt myself from the tax for not having insurance because I'm poor, and thanks for making me have to find a second shitty part time job because I just got cut down to 29 hours a week so they don't have to offer me health insurance.

Fucking Obama...

What a dick....

I am not concerned. The survey asked for no personal info like email address. That aside, I can defend my opinions and don't care that THGRRI has an opinion out there on the web.

I started it, but it was really only applicable to people living in US so I didn't bother completing.

Also it was either/or black and white responses. Not useful for me.
