But not what anyone was hoping for.

DOJ investigates Nebraska parade float critical of Obama

The U.S. Department of Justice has sent a member of its Community Relations Service team to investigate a Nebraska parade float that criticized President Obama.
A Fourth of July parade float featured at the annual Independence Day parade in Norfolk sparked criticism when it depicted a zombie-like figure resembling Mr. Obama standing outside an outhouse, which was labeled the “Obama Presidential Library.”

There's never been a more ideologically and politically corrupt U.S. Attorney General in the entire history of the Republic. Obama chose his loyal lapdog wisely.

BYTEMITE

I had to dig around lots of national right wing news repeating the same report verbatim for a local newspaper and local opinions on this. But I found one eventually, so I give this a tentative "might be real."

and I agree with you, this is definitely a free speech issue, this is not racist, and this is a waste of resources and tax dollars.

It’s sad to witness the ignorance on this board. Some here definitely need to be checked for Alzheimer’s because you memories are gone. Either that or you’re too far gone to ever get back into the realm of reality because your level of hate has destroyed you. This place is really sad….

Remember this?

“Gonzales served for 2 1/2 years during Bush's second term. He resigned in 2007 after coming under scrutiny for his involvement in a government wiretapping program and for his role in the dismissal of United States attorneys.

Shields and Brooks Discuss Gonzales Resignation

August 27, 2007

Pressure had been building for months in Washington surrounding the resignation of Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, and his departure was finally announced on Monday. Political analysts Mark Shields and David Brooks discuss the politically-charged announcement.

They want to get back to Texas before the temperature dips below 100. I suspect, with Gonzales’ case, there’s been a gathering sense that he couldn’t do the job. And by doing the job, I think there’s a gathering sense even among Republicans he couldn’t represent the administration in combats with Congress over executive power because he was regarded as uncredible and not competent.

MARK SHIELDS, Syndicated Columnist: He really didn’t. And Alberto Gonzales started with a constituency of one: That one was George W. Bush who plucked from a Houston law firm, made him his counsel as governor of Texas, where he was best known for green-lighting 50-plus executions that made Texas the capital punishment headquarters of the world.”

Nothing in the post above had anything remotely to do w/ the thread topic or issue of denying free political speech.

Dismissal of US attorneys ? Completely with in the scope of the President's powers to have done so. Non issue.

Gwen Ifill ? PBS ?

*laugh track *

Good one.

Yeah ok, you are like the dumbest ass on the planet. He was forced to resign. That was the prefect response to Jongsstraws post. You really are the dullest bulb on the tree.

Gonzales's tenure as U.S. Attorney General was marked by controversy regarding warrantless surveillance and the legal authorization of Enhanced interrogation techniques, which were alleged to be torture.

Where's the corruption ? He gave a legal reason for the use of enhanced interrogation, and that practice helped find Osama bin Laden. POLITICIANS got fussy because the MSM were pushing an agenda, and instead of simply doing their gorram job, and telling the liberal press to shove it, they got spineless and called for his resignation.

How was he more corrupt and ideologically locked than Holder ?

Holder, who really HAS done some corrupt and dangerous things, deserves to be removed, but doesn't. He's arrogant and corrupt, but because YOU feel Gonzalez " had to " resign, that some how proves he's more corrupt than Holder ?

* Laugh track *

Seriously, how did your brain learn human speech ?

Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured... but not everyone must prove they are a citizen

I'm just a red pill guy in a room full of blue pill addicts.

Sorry, try again. This has been debunked. Once again, you are demonstrably in error, and ensconced in the endless anti-whom-you-hate bullshit. Feel free to go on, and prove yourself more the idiot than you have already (Heh, if that's even possible at this point).
You proved me right here.
Thanks.

Woke up to this headline today.

Justice Dept. Launches Criminal Probe of Missing IRS Emails

/

Only took 2 lawsuits and a Federal judge demanding answers to get the Justice Dept. off its ass, but hey, the judge did what Congress was unable to do. We'll see where this goes, especially now that Lerner's friends over at the FEC also had their hard drives crash ... last week! So now FEC e-mails are missing too. What a co-inky-dink!
