A second Russia Today correspondent has quit her job, saying the Kremlin-funded station's anchors "do work for" Russian President Vladimir Putin and lied on-air to the public.

Firth said the network asks its anchors to "obscure the truth," and that she'd had enough.

She told The Press Gazette in London that she made her decision to quit Thursday after bher newsroom's response to the reports about the deadly plane crash.

"Yesterday when the story broke you get the kick in your stomach when you’re going to get the facts and it’s this huge story," she said. "And I walked into the newsroom and they were running an eyewitness account of God-knows who the person was blaming the Ukrainian government, and it is such a volatile situation."

Firth, who has been with Russia Today since 2009, told BuzzFeed Friday that the organization's coverage of the crash was "the total disregard to the facts. We threw up eyewitness accounts from someone on the ground openly accusing the Ukrainian government [of involvement in the disaster], and a correspondent in the studio pulled up a plane crash before that the Ukrainian government had been involved in and said it was 'worth mentioning.' "

But the prior plane crash wasn't "worth mentioning," Firth said.

“I couldn’t do it any more," Firth said. "Every single day we’re lying and finding sexier ways to do it.”

Earlier this year, former Russia Today correspondent Liz Wahl quit while she was on the air, saying she couldn't support a network that "whitewashes the actions of Putin" while asking her to "promote Russian foreign policy."

Bringing up old, seemingly irrelevant topics and spinning them into the narrative of a modern day story is not, I don't think, an attempt to bamboozle. It's due to the fact that some worldviews are contrived and elaborate, and don't have a lot of evidence to draw upon.

For example I was arguing with some Russians online recently about which of our media is more trustworthy. I gave some very recent examples of Russian media lying (on the current Ukraine crisis), and being caught red handed. The Russians responded with a FOX News link from 2008, covering the Russia-Georgia war. I just laughed at them because 1) it was FOX News and 2) why couldn't they give any recent examples of Western media lying, like I did for Russian?

It's not personal. It's just war.

I never watch it (except the local news on the local Fox station sometimes) so I refrain from commenting on it.

RT Reporter Quits Over Pro-Russia Spin on MH17 Disaster, Says She’s Tired

Back in March, RT host Liz Wahl made news when she abruptly quit on the air, claiming that she could no longer be part of a network that whitewashed the sins of Vladimir Putin. She says she made the decision after the Kremlin-run network put her in a position of having to essentially lie about the Russian invasion of Crimea. That intervention marked the start of the chain of events that led to yesterday’s downing of a Malaysian Airlines flight by a surface-to-air missile — one more than likely fired by pro-Russian forces.

Now another RT personality has quit — in part because of yesterday’s tragedy and the Russian reaction to it. Earlier today, Sara Firth handed in her resignation at RT and announced that she was leaving, saying on Twitter, “I’m for the truth.” But her scathing attack on the network and what it stands for didn’t stop there.

Here's another one.

A London-based reporter for Russia’s state-owned English-language channel RT quit Friday in protest at its coverage of the Malaysia Airlines crash in Ukraine.

That's a fair question. I too only watch fox locally although I watch Chris Wallace on Sunday mornings. I don't get cable anymore but back when I did I loved Fox because it spoke to my conservative side and also my patriotism. I started realizing for myself they were turning everything into spin rather quickly. The lies they spewed about Iraq for one completely turned me off to them. That does not mean I could not find on occasion some programing I liked, but for the most part wow what bullshit.
