But, if anyone decides to look for it on their own, I recommend something non-google, like maybe

You forget- Crappy doesn't believe in climate change because he doesn't SEE it from where he is. He won't believe in undue Israeli aggression because he doesn't SEE it from where he is.

A number, ya maroon. Go get a NUMBER. Seriously. Get this information. You keep telling us about "how many" rockets Hamas fires, so HOW MANY (a number) rockets does Israel fire? What you will find will surprise you, and everyone else here (except me, because I already looked). You'll be the info hero of the day!

No. I don't need to get a number. Ya know why ? Because Israel didn't start this. Israel isn't attacking anyone. Israel isn't digging tunnels w/ HUMANITARIAN MATERIAL w/ the intent to kill and kidnap civilians.

Idiot.

According to Wiki ( I know , super reliable ) Pedia, 500,000 Japanese civilians died in WW2 as a result of direct military action.

How many NON Merchant Marine civilians died for the USofA ? About 2,500.

So spare me this fucking PHONY ass equivalency bullshit when it comes to total deaths as some how being morality barometer. It means NOTHING !

I didn't post it as a morality barometer, you pathetic asshole, it was to show how much of a deadly threat they AREN'T. Even Israeli officials have stated that. Yet they ARE a threat. Best of both worlds here: a threat enough to pound the shit out of, but not enough of a threat to actually cause much death- ideal conflict conditions, eh?

Less of a threat when there's the Iron Dome security system, but no one is stupid enough to think that 2000 Kassam rockets fired at a populated are " no threat ".

Or the hundreds of tunnels built to conduct raids in Israel, including suicide bombing and kidnappings.

Pathetic ass hole.

Very well, point taken. But my reply was to point out that, even in Israel, where the far Left wing commonly goes against the use of force by the IDF during such battles w/ Hamas, THIS TIME they are supporting the actions of the IDF. They, as are all those in Israel, are sick and tired of having missiles lobbed at their homes and businesses, 30-40 times a day, all day long, and want it stopped.

Amazing that even the Left , THERE IN ISRAEL , have finally seen the light.

Also, there's this nugget, from CNN.

Yes, to a point. After the late Sixties it was felt that they needed breathing room (sound familiar?) so settlement started, you know, as in possession is nine points of the law? Then the walls, then the choking off of supplies. You say Israel has a right to defend itself. But the Palestinians do not have the right to NOT live like maltreated prisoners behind walls? Yes, HAMAS is a force for continued violence, but so is any occupation of their land.

If Hamas/PA used the billions they get in aid for things like food and medicine instead of using it to buy missiles, rocket launchers, AK 47s, and to build terror tunnels, the Palestinians wouldn't have any malnutrition.

You do realise that the state of Israel was brought about by terrorist actions.

Quote:

In February 1947, the British announced that they would end the mandate and withdraw from Palestine and they asked the arbitration of the United Nations. After the vote of the Partition Plan for Palestine on 30 November 1947, civil war broke out in Palestine. Jewish and Arab communities fought each other violently in campaigns of attacks, retaliations and counter-retaliations which provoked around 800 deaths after two months. Arab volunteers entered Palestine to fight alongside the Palestinian Arabs after the Deir Yassin massacre, a massacre of Arab villagers committed by Jewish militia. In April, 6 weeks before the termination of the Mandate, the Jewish militias launched wide operations to control the territory dedicated to them by the Partition Plan.[citation needed] Many atrocities occurred during this time. The Arab population in the mixed cities of Tiberias, Safed, Haifa, Jaffa, Beisan and Acre and in the neighbouring villages fled or were expelled during this period. During the Battle for Jerusalem (1948) where the Jewish community of 100,000 people was besieged, most Arab villages of the Tel Aviv – Jerusalem corridor were captured by Jewish militias and leveled. Those members of the Arab population who had not fled were expelled or killed.[citation needed]

At the beginning of the civil war, the Jewish militias organized several bombing attacks against civilians and military Arab targets. On 12 December, Irgun placed a car bomb opposite the Damascus Gate, killing 20 people.[10] On 4 January 1948, the Lehi detonated a lorry bomb against the headquarters of the paramilitary Najjada located in Jaffa's Town Hall, killing 15 Arabs and injuring 80.[10][11] During the night between 5 and 6 January, the Haganah bombed the Semiramis Hotel in Jerusalem that had been reported to hide Arab militiamen, killing 24 people.[12] The next day, Irgun members in a stolen police van rolled a barrel bomb[13] into a large group of civilians who were waiting for a bus by the Jaffa Gate, killing around 16.[14] Another Irgun bomb went off in the Ramla market on February 18, killing 7 residents and injuring 45.[15] On 28 February, the Palmah organised a bombing attack against a garage at Haifa, killing 30 people.[16]

Dont get me wrong, I actually have plenty of sympathy for the Jewish people who founded Israel and their reasons for doing so, but you can't say that this has been a one sided conflict. Israel has one of the most sophisticated militaries in the world, well supported by the USA. They are a prosperous country. Palestinians are stateless, living in what amounts to be a large refugee camp, in poverty. And yes, there are militants who want annihalation of the other, both sides use this rhetoric. There are also plenty of people who want to live along side of one another in peace, but their voices are, as usual, shouted down when hostilities commence.

I feel for the people of this region and hope they can find some peace some day. How that might happen, better minds than mine have struggled to find a solution.

OH, BTW Geezer... the article that you link to is simply drumming up a "controversy" about the UNWR agency when no controversy exists. If you look at who the article lists as critics, and also follow the links, you will find link after link to the Israeli government and its mouthpieces.

And what did they find so "controversial"? That an agency spokesperson cried about dead children?

OMFG!!! The man has a shred of empathy left, and it's not just for The Jews!!!!

Well, of course the Israeli government finds this agency "controversial"! It provides aid to a group of people that Israel would prefer to genocide.

Genocide Is Permissible" Muses Times Of Israel, Promptly Retracts
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-08-01/genocide-permissible-muses-ti
mes-israel-promptly-retracts

Whether the Times of Israel retracts the article or not, it's clear that Israel is, at the least, practicing collective punishment, if not outright genocide, both of which are recognized war crimes. The controversy over Israel is far, far greater than that over UNWRA.

BY the one, one of the critics of UNWRA was David Horovitz, editor of the Times of Israel, the very paper which opened the door of "permissible genocide".

As far as those rockets- if you read further into the text, it says

Quote:

It’s still unclear how, exactly, rockets appeared inside the agency’s schools. Gunness told The Post that the schools were closed for the summer, and he called the discovery “unprecedented,” saying, “We’re in new territory here.”

A less biased source would have continued with the remainder of the info: the schools that were shelled by Israel, which were housing refugees, DID NOT contain rockets.

The schools which had the rockets discovered in them were EMPTY.

The UNWRA had provided the IDF with the exact coordinates of the refugee-filled schools at least three times before they were shelled by Israel.

You're a small, small man.

Gorram, I don't wanta be on Geezer's side here.

But the referenced article is CORRECT about the full name of the agency. According to Wikipedia, at least ( and of course, Wikipedia could be biased or propagandized. Being editable by anyone does diminish its reliability as an authoritative source, especially when it prints something that someone referring to it doesn't want to accept.)

UNRWA's full title is ( Pardon me, I'm gonna have to go back and check thsi, will edit it in a few minutes.) E-T-A: "United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East" , 10:28 AM. That right there suggests an appearance of bias. According to Wikipedia , 99 % of its employees are Palestinians. That might suggest a bias. And if they don't know what's going on in their own schools, that suggests that they are either incompetent or are lying about what they know is going on, using plausible deniability as a cover for their official neutrality.

And, Hey, Sig, why do you keep referring to it as UNWRA, instead of its correct abbreviation UNRWA. Careless of you, you're usually much better than that. It's one of the things I generally respect about you.

Back in a few...

Because I just washed my hands and I can't do a thing with them? Boy, you should see my typing BEFORE spell-checking!

I read another article, I think I linked it here somehwere, which has a much better narrative of what's going on. Apparently, the school (at the time, there was only one) where they found the rockets was shuttered, and not actively being used for sheltering refugees. AFTER the school which was housing refugees was shelled, the administrator (who I got the impression worked directly for the UN) went to inspect the other schools and found the rockets. He was very upset, and reported them right away.

Jerusalem (CNN) -- The United Nations on Sunday called a deadly strike near a U.N. school in southern Gaza a "moral outrage and a criminal act."

At least 10 people at the school, which was being used as a shelter for about 3,000 people, were killed in the shelling.

The "The Jews attacked a neutral UN run school" story worked so well, now they can be blamed for attacking "near" a school, or casualties "at" a school. The earlier version of the story had a Palestinian crowd gathering outside the school at market stalls to buy food and treats.

Did Arabs steal Moses 'clothes, or who was there first?

Alter many months of the political maneuvering and beating about the bush, the delegations of Israel and of the palestinian arabs finally decided to meet and clear out,who CAME to Palestine first and, consequently, who has more right to it.

So, the delegations sat at their table , and waited for the speaker to announce the first to speak. And at this moment , the head of the Israeli delegation asked if the Arabs, while they were waiting, would like to listen a Bible legend. Arabs said- why not?

Many- many centuries ago, started the Israeli, Moses led the People of Israel from Egypt. They wondered in the desert for many years, became very thirsty and the people started to get desperate about water . And here – Lo! A Miracle! A river with crystal-clear water appeared before the Jews! They drank heartily, and then took off their clothes , ran into the river and started to swim. Of course, Moses was with his people. When, some half an hour later , Moses got out of the water, he did not find his clothes.

Who stole my clothes???,- cried Moses in thundering voice
It was Arabs,- answered the Jews .

At this moment, the head of the Arab delegation stood up infuriated and cried :
“It´s a dirty Zionist lie! At that time, there was not a single Arab around there”

“This is exactly what I wanted to remind you” ,- answered the Jew. “And now- we can start to talk about who was first on this land ”.

The Jew in this conversation was Menachem Begin and the Arab was Arafat. At Camp David with Jimmy Carter.

At Camp David with Jimmy Carter.

wow, a 'who got here first' conversation.

Last time I checked countries like the US, Australia, New Zealand and many parts of the world are governed by people who got here pretty damned recently and the original inhabitznts live by their rules, pretty much.

If we all had to go back to where we came from originally, and gave original inhabitants soveriegn rights, that would be some big, big changes. Everyone is looking for their chosen land, everyone's been uprooted from their home. Thus is the history of human migration.

Your ignorance of damn near everything is what allows you to even THINK of typing that go-se.

This is a story I heard retold by Zbigniew Brzezinski who was National Security Advisor to Jimmy Carter, and who had a seat at the table. It was told by Menachem Begin to all present including Arafat at the beginning of the talks. Arafat played into Begins hands with his comments about there being no such thing as a Palestinian back when Mosses clothes were stolen. Begin said ah ha, now we can start.

The difference here from what you imply about indigenous people falling prey to outsiders is, this shows the Israelis where there first and in this case the Indigenous peoples won out.

So the siren alarms on my phone blare away from pre- dawn ( local ) til dusk, every single day. Thankfully I can turn off the app, and get some sleep or what ever. But it's striking to realize that's life in Israel these days.

And to think, this latest spree of violence started after Israel caught the murderers of 1 Palestinian teen, while those who kills 3 Israelis escape justice.

Makes ya think , don't it ?

I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

I can't believe there's an argument going on about "who was there first", and the answers were restricted to Jews and Arabs!

What about the ancient Greeks, Hittites, Phoenicians, Egyptians, etc? One needs only to search inhabitants+ancient+Palestine in order to see the TRUE "original inhabitants", although I imagine there were peoples living in the area before even then.

--------------------

HAS ANYONE FOUND THAT NUMBER YET, of the number of missiles (and mortars, if you're feeling ambitious) that ISRAEL fires into GAZA???

The reason why I ask is because

Select to view spoiler:

I looked, using a number of search terms and search engines including google, and that answer is nowhere to be found. It's been scrubbed off the internet. The ONLY information that keeps popping up is number of Hamas rockets, number of rockets from Gaza fired into Israel.

This is the second search that I've come up completely empty. (The first was also a military matter.) Prove me wrong! If you think YOU can find it, I challenge you!

Surely that information exists SOMEWHERE. But it's been censored out of existence. There must be a bunch of busy students, scrub-scrub-scrubbing the inet of all traces of Israeli firing on Palestinians! The NSA might also be involved; apparently they work hand-in-glove with Israeli intelligence. "New Snowden Document Implies NSA May Be Putting Israel’s Security Ahead of America’s"

One of the reasons why it's easy to feel so very sympathetic towards Israel is because the Israeli government is so very good at getting out it's side of the story, and suppressing anything else. Then they beat their breasts Oh woe is us! on a tide of one-sided reporting.

You'll notice there's no such equivalent of an app for your phone with which you can hear the warnings on the GAZA side of the conflict. This is yet another example of one-sided reporting, which is a favorite tool of propagandists everywhere. You can detect one-sided reporting - if you have a mind to- by simply asking yourself if you're hearing the exact equivalent of information about all sides concerned. If you're not, see if you can find it. If you can't, you've just stumbled over internet censorship. Just try to use non-google search engines if you think you're looking for sensitive information.

Sig - the answer to the question which SHOULD be asked, and that you're avoiding, is how many are fired with the same intent - that being to kill and terrorize as many civilians as possible - as the missiles / mortars which HAMAS are firing into Israel.

That answer is ZERO.

History of Israel

Israel is associated with the earliest stage in the history of humanity by the "Galilee Skull", while recent excavations in Jericho have produced the oldest evidence of organized city life.

The first known inhabitants of Israel in historic times were the Canaanites from whom the land long took its name. By c. 3000-2500 BCE the inhabitants seem to have been largely Semitic speaking; they introduced the use of bronze and developed cities. The Bible mentions seven tribes which dominated the country. The long struggle for its control between the South (Egypt) and the North (Assyria), which - in varying political forms - was to dominate the local scene down to the 19th cent. had already begun at this time. The country was now divided into large numbers of warring city-states ruled over by petty "kings."

Having a little trouble here, see, my English is okay, but my Strawman is a little rusty.
So, I'm siding with them that want to wipe out Jews? That's interesting, because I've made it plain that I hold HAMAS in low regard. But it was worth a shot I guess, as you don't have much else.
I side with the Palestinian PEOPLE, the Jewish PEOPLE, and the American PEOPLE. The self-serving and manipulative governments can kiss my ass.

Back to you, dickhead.

Gaza?
I keep hearing news reports that super genius Secretary Swiftboat Ketchup has arranged peace to end all peaces, meaning unfettered offensive terrorist activities by Hamasians, while Israel promises to stop shooting while Hamas attacks Jew civilians.
Then when Hamas fully sets up their terrorist attacks and breaks the cease fire, libtard MSM reports to us that Israel has broken the cease-fire, and refuses to stop defending themselves. How on earth will Hamas ever be able to annihilate those dang Jews if the Jews won't stop defending themselves? Not only that, but they are using a version of Ronny Raygun's Star Wars movie to defend themselves to boot!! Why can't those dang Jews just lay down their weapons un6til they are all dead, then Obamination and Swiftboat Ketchup will finally be happy, and get all that support from Obamination's Islamofascist buddies to complete his 3rd term in office.
THAT Gaza?
