A year from now, ten, they'll swing back to the belief that they can make people...[die]. And I do not hold to that. So no more running. I aim to misbehave."

Hamas had built ( at least ) 32 tunnels INTO Israel, and was on the verge of conducting an all out assault on Israeli citizens. This fact should... I say SHOULD stuff a sock in the whole ' poor Palestinians ' mantra, but we all know it won't. These tunnels weren't for sheltering children or old people from the mean Jews and their precision air strikes. They were built for one thing only - to attack civilians in Israel. Such tunnels have been under construction for years. Great effort and $ went into the building of these tunnels, and we can only guess that there are many more like them which link areas underground in Gaza.

Quote: The killing of Zaiad Muchasi, Fatah representative to Cyprus, by an explosion in his Athens hotel room in 1973.[16] Ireland The assassination of Mahmoud Al-Mabhouh - a senior Hamas military leader - in Dubai, 2010, was suspected to be the work of Mossad, and there were eight Irish passports (six of which were used) fraudulently obtained by the Israeli embassy in Dublin, Ireland for use by apparent Mossad agents in the operation. The Irish government was angered over the use of Irish passports, summoned the Israeli ambassador and expelled the Israeli diplomat deemed responsible from Dublin, following an investigation. One of the passports was registered to a residence on Pembroke Road, Ballsbridge, on the same road as the Israeli embassy. The house was empty when later searched, but there was suspicion it had been used as a Mossad safe house in the past.[27][28] Mossad is reported to have a working relationship with Ireland's national intelligence agency, the military Directorate of Intelligence (G2),[29] and has previously tipped the Irish authorities off about arms shipments from the Middle East to Ireland for use by dissident republican militants, resulting in their interception and arrests.[30] Mossad is also believed to cooperate with the British government in combating IRA terrorism, including involvement in Operation Flavius, 1988.[31]

Because it's not a movie. The good guys don't win in 2 hours. It's very difficult for an agent to penetrate a terrorist organization, and even if one did, then what? How many is he going to be able to kill? Also, many of the Hamas leaders are living outside the region in places like Qatar, and they have security protection all the time.

Because I just washed my hands and I can't do a thing with them? Boy, you should see my typing BEFORE spell-checking! I read another article, I think I linked it here somehwere, which has a much better narrative of what's going on. Apparently, the school (at the time, there was only one) where they found the rockets was shuttered, and not actively being used for sheltering refugees. AFTER the school which was housing refugees was shelled, the administrator (who I got the impression worked directly for the UN) went to inspect the other schools and found the rockets. He was very upset, and reported them right away.

Quote:Originally posted by SIGNYM: Quote:Their only aim is to win the PR war, not the actual war. More images of dead Palestinians is the goal here. World sympathy towards them and animosity towards Israel. Then why does Israel insist in playing their game? Being the bad guy to their victim? Do they really feel THAT threatened?
Quote: Honestly, I don't think Hamas - or any of the so-called terrorist organizations* - are looking to wipe Israel off the map. People In Gaza would settle for ending the blockade. They've been beaten, they're on the ground, they can't possibly inflict as much damage on Israel as Israel can on them, and everybody knows it- Hamas knows it, the Palestinians know it, Israel knows it, and the whole world knows it. That's why the world sees Israel as the "bad guy"- the total imbalance of power.
Quote: The Israeli government right now is that proverbial bully on the playground, and they INSIST on playing that role for reasons of their own. And it's either complete paranoia, or something much more cynical.
Quote: *The IDF is a terrorist organization that commits war crimes. They're no better than the people they claim to be fighting.
