AURAPTOR

America loves a winner!

I see 1 in line who could easily earn $14 the hard way, and not have to stand in line for dinner.

My grandma actually got some of that govt cheese, and so she gave some of it to us. Good stuff.

In college, there was a local band with the name 'Govt Cheese'. Big fun.

Government Cheese was always about diary farmers making money. It was not about feeding people. It seemed wasteful to send the unsellable cheese stockpile to a landfill, so why not make poor people eat the waste? It's like killing two birds with one stone!

The Government Cheese was made from food surpluses stockpiled by the government as part of milk price supports for diary farmers. Once the dairy programs ended, Government Cheese was taken off the market. The Dairy Price Support Program ended December 31, 2007. That was followed by the Milk Income Loss Contract (MILC) payments that ended on September 30, 2012.

A block of government cheese was made from leftover bits of Colby, cheddar, cheese curd, or granular cheese mixed with emulsifiers. The taste and smell was a cross between very low-grade American cheese, a generic Velveeta knockoff, and a somewhat rancid cheddar. It was like biting into a cheese made from smelly socks.

But the diary farmers needed someplace to dump their excess cheese. Why not dump it on the poor? Or dump on those who think American cheese is made of cheese?

Costco has recently opened its doors here, selling a lot of American produce, so its kind of a cultural tour going there.

But the cheese looks bad. Wrong colour for starters.

And then there is this

I dunno second, it seemed like a pretty Green solution to me....

It never truly ended though. How do I know this? I'm on it now.

I don't eat a lot of sweats, but I love me some dairy. I know that the store-brand "cheese" barely even constitutes cheese and it's clogging up my arteries, but it tastes good. It was probably one color or another before the food dyes went into the slop before solidifying into bricks, but I can't help myself.

Same goes for the "cheese" and "meat" they throw on any frozen pizza that costs less than 6 bucks. This will never go away because just as much as they don't want to tell us where the ingredients come from, we really don't want to know either.....

Ahhhhh...

Ignorance is bliss. :)

Another "green" solution was feeding dead cows to live cows. It was just "recycling" until the discovery of the connection to Mad Cow Disease, then it became a business disaster. To hell with the "cycle of life" if no one will buy meat. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creutzfeldt%E2%80%93Jakob_disease

Well.... that's Apples and Oranges....

Truly, that is sick shit.

Cows don't know shit. Neither do dogs or cats or any other animal. By nature, you can feed themselves to themselves so long as there is a strong enough scent to the food that they can't resist.....

Haha...

The next thing, you'll be telling me is Soilent Green is.....

oh...

Shit...

Wellllllll.....

happy fucking birthday to me.
