There's a reason conservatives love Fox news - it panders to their worst fears and plays to their paranoia. That's also the reason most thinking people treat Fox as the joke it is.

And now they've gone and done it again - reported a satire piece as if it were actually true, or newsworthy. Welcome to Sprinkle-ghazi-gate.

Quote:

It’s often been said that instead of being a reputable source for news, Fox News instead comes closer to emulating a televised version of The Onion, the well-known satire news source.

Fox more than lived up to that billing on Tuesday morning’s episode of Fox & Friends when the hosts of the program apparently cited a conservative satire news outlet as the basis for their bizarre choice of topic, lowering the collective IQ of their viewers even further.

It all started when Fox & Friends host Clayton Morris warned the audience that they would have to “say goodbye to your favorite sprinkled doughnut.”

Morris held up a plate of palatable doughnuts and said, “They’re getting rid of doughnuts like these. Doesn’t the FDA have more important things to do than regulate sprinkles?”

That is too hilarious............all you have to do is say one of two things: government or Obama, and they fall hook, line and sinker.

The fact checkers at Fox..........wait, what am I saying? They have no fact checkers.

Fact is, there was no satire. Obama really did ban sprinkles.

It's about a nanny state telling folks and companies what to do, and then telling them the opposite, simply because they want to rule our lives.

Public health? My muscular buttocks !

And yet trolls here like EC simply want to vilify FOX and Breitbart, while giving our overlords in the Imperial Federal Govt a pass.

True useful idiots, on parade.

Quote:

Each American consumes a mere 1.3 grams of trans fats per day. That's roughly 0.6% of our total daily calories, and no research suggests that this poses a health risk. But that's not enough to dissuade the federal nannies from regulating even the most minute aspect of our daily lives.

The irony here is that trans fats were once pushed by liberal groups such as the Center for Science in the Public Interest. This poster child for the food police in 1988 published a book titled "Saturate Fat Attack" that condemned the use of saturated and polyunsaturated fats then in vogue. Food companies soon switched to trans fats, a move for which CSPI proudly took credit.

In its Nutrition Action Newsletter on March 1, 1988, CSPI not only downplayed health risks associated with trans fats but promoted them as a health benefit. It even cited a study that found a "significant positive correlation" between trans fats in animal fats and cancer rates.

The nanny state that tells us what cars we should drive, what energy we must use and what health insurance we must buy has told mothers what they can put in their children's school lunches and even whether they can take mom-made lunches to school at all.

Slurpees and now sprinkles are a health hazard, according to those who mysteriously know what's good for us.

Did Don query as to whether the AirAsia jet flew into a black hole too, as he did w/ MH370 ?

One of the saddest days in all of CNN , which use to actually report the news.

Rates were going up for many years before ACA. You need proof that ACA did what you claim. Otherwise, you look like an honest liar -- you believe but you can't prove what you said.

Honest liar ? Eff you. My wallet is taking a severe hit , all because of the Demcorats.
That's all the proof I need.

I bet you were part of the herd who thought the ACA enrollment #'s really DID hit their minimum level of 7 million, when in fact, they were well off that number.

Funny. The truth wasn't " discovered " until like 6 months later.

Got some proof? I can't actually see your wallet from here. Post your bills, going back for years, from the insurance company. Or find some graph on the internet from somebody trustworthy. Just your word is worthless because you have a history here. Nobody sensible would trust your word.

It doesn't have to be your bill. All you need to do is find a http://kff.org/health-costs/ that supports your claim (and the Republican party's claims) that healthcare insurance costs increased because of the ACA. Or, maybe, your bill went up because you decreased your deductible? That would be your fault, not ACA. Or, maybe, you are now male after a sex change? Is that why your health insurance premium doubled? You shouldn't blame ACA for that, either. ( I just realized that was sexist. It kind of accuses you of taking too many steroids to maintain your maleness. Sorry. And Happy New Year to you and your husband.)

According to the raptard, that means that the ACA is lowering health insurance rates.

More proof? My rates had gone up for years prior to the ACA, and then went down in its first full year. That proves conclusively that the ACA is saving Americans money.

Obama has nothing to do with setting prices. He only put a program in place to help ease pricing and get more people insured. The fact that you still suggest that the President is setting pricing shows how disingenuous you are or at the very least, ignorant of the topic. Perhaps you should look into it first instead of spewing negative talking points from Fox News.

The government did not provide insurance but set up a system that enabled more people to gain health insurance through private insurance companies. Yes the ACA does expand Medicaid but that too helped get more people insured and the cost of that is spread across the nation. The fact that some Republican Governors refused to set up private exchanges in their state to help insurance companies absorb new clients is their problem and their constituents will force change.

It tickles me to see people complain about this while ignoring the fact that they spend more picking up the bill for the uninsured who show up in emergency rooms across the country. The ACA will help with that. Lack of insurance is also what is responsible for the long wait times while there. Again economics 101. Rather than be upset about the ACA based on who instituted it, sit back and enjoy the fact that something our government did really is for the best.

P.S. TWO is absolutely correct. Any pricing difficulties were due to insurance companies not being experienced in biding for new clients. They have been doing their pricing behind closed doors immune from Anti Trust Laws. That means these insurance companies where making deals not to enter each others territories and deciding as a group what to charge.

By the way you argue against the ACA, I can see you did not have a clue about this.

Using a strict definition of "sprinkle" to not include the majority of sprinkles made with PHOs?
Snopes did point out that the basis in fact was from a FDA proposal regarding the PHOs which sprinkles are made of. Using sprinkles is a way of bringing a common example to the forefront so that common consumers of news can readily understand what a PHO is. Are you so stupid that you cannot comprehend this? Snopes did fail to mention that, under Obama, administrative "proposals" are normally fast-tracked into rule, regulation, policy so most reasonable thinking people can comprehend that this is what is reported - and in fact, often by the time stories of Obama's dictatorial pronouncements are released, Obama has already enacted them.
Snopes admitted the FDA proposal was real, factual.
Snopes admitted that the PHOs are actually, really used in the manufacture of sprinkles - and did not present a more common, identifiable example of what other foods do use PHOs.
Snopes admitted that sprinkles can be used on donuts, ice cream, as well as others.
So Snopes proved that the claims were true (other than Obama already had banned them, in the past - not sure if that is the case), but you choose to believe that this proof of truth is actually proof of falsehood?

How far were you willing to stretch your credibility for that?

Was there some point in that linked article that mentions Sprinkles? I did not see it. Or were you intentionally lying, defusing, or deflecting?

You're just flat out factually wrong here. Putting the program in place is specifically what amounts to higher costs. Rates went up, despite the claims that the average family would get a drastic ( $ 2,500 ) reduction in HC benefits.

RAPPY...don't you and some others here realize that your lies only work to destroy your credibility, not just in what you are lying about, but everything that follows as well.

Off course you do. Telling the truth is not what you're about. Spreading bullshit is.

"At the same time, costs are coming down. The Congressional Budget Office found the health care law is making significant contributions to fiscal responsibility. The CBO’s most recent estimates show that repealing the law would actually increase deficits by $1.7 trillion over the next 20 years. Moreover, average premiums for coverage through the marketplaces are about 15 percent lower than the CBO previously projected.

There’s more good news when it comes to health care and Medicare spending. The rate of increase in real health spending per person is at its lowest point in 50 years and more than 3 percentage points under the historical average, according to recent data. Growth in the average cost of care for a person enrolled in Medicare is also at unusually low levels, and if that success is maintained, it will translate into trillions in savings over the decades to come. Those savings can be used to pay down our deficit or invest in infrastructure, education, innovation and other key national priorities".

Yeah, that's right...................they have some brilliant minds over there.
So good that Karl Rove couldn't keep it in his pants when the Big Night came about and he questioned the math.

"What!? That can't be. We promised Obama would lose. How dare you report he won, again!"

It was on that night that they said, Never Again! Operation Suppress Votes went into affect. God those guys are such geniuses.

So you're saying that costs are being (ahem) "doctored."
Well, of course, that's gotta be it. Obama is lying, so is every economic expert and spokesman in the country. Of course, that would mean that the doctors, administrators and insurance companies have nothing to do with it. Health care costs, before the ACA, were going down on their own, and millions of Americans would soon be able to afford going to the doctor.

Oh, one more thing, that would only be effective for working people and their kids. Those others, who freeload off of the working stiffs like you and me, they don't count for shit, the lazy bastards. They should get a job and pay their fare share, like the rest of us.

Let them use the ER.

What were we talking about again.

And what the fuck does any of that have to do with him not banning sprinkles (despite what you've been told by your overseers at Fox)?

Obama was the liar of the year, so yeah, he's lying. And no, not EVERY economic expert or spokesman agrees. That's even more absurd - if possible - than saying every scientists agrees on AGW. In fact, it's likely most agree that ACA is makign things worse. FAR worse.

Healthcare ? Isn't a " right ". Sorry. It just isn't.

Okay, so let me see if I have this straight...........................

A. If most people agree that the ACA is trouble, economically speaking, then that's true.

B. But, if most people agree that the ACA is beneficial, both economically and morally, then it's a lie.

Which one is it? A or B. Don't be shy, step right up and pick one (it's for charity).

By the way, Proof of Citizenship is required before you answer (no fake IDs please)
So let's see it, your proof, do you have it?

Okay, so let me see if I have this straight...........................

A. If most people agree that the Earth is round, scientifically speaking, then that's true.

B. But, if most people agree that the Earth is flat, both scientifically and astrologically, then it's a lie.

Which one is it? A or B. Don't be shy, step right up and pick one (it's for your life - you get beheaded if the Pope decides he doesn't at some point agree with you).

By the way, Proof of Religious Affiliation is required before you answer (no fake Reverends, please - this means you, Al Sharpieton.)
So let's see it, your proof, do you have it?
