The government already provides tax incentives for alternate energy production, which is just about making them cost-competitive in certain areas. However, alternative energy isn't going to make it if it's not economical enough to stand on its own. Instead of sending your $600.00 back to Uncle Sam, where it'll most likely end up in a porkbarrel somewhere, why not invest it in a company that's putting up solar or wind farms; providing them capital to expand while potentially turning a profit for you? "Keep the Shiny side up"
