Yes, I was out of town, and yes, certain matters required a more direct and personal intervention than normally required.

However...
This little bit of fearmongering bullshit is over the top.

I am NOT, and never have been, a member of the FLDS, nor even share most of their belief tenets for all that they seem decent folk with a few glaring exceptions who're on the verge of getting their just desserts.

Nor are any of the folk that I currently work with members, although due to our efforts that may well change in the future.

Nor is there any intent, even on behalf of Alice, to resort to violence in this particular matter, and if any Texas state official has a significant problem with the fact that no few of us believe in self defense, they can damned well keep their traps shut about it since we're in full compliance with appropriate State and Federal law.

Finally, some of these dipshits need to grow a sense of humor - if there was any reference to us as "Enforcers" by members of FLDS, or any other term suchlike, it was purely tongue in cheek, and if anything, we're enforcing the States own laws against the very State officials who swore to uphold them, and then violated them willfully and without a blink in what has, upon further investigation, been a relgious brawl between Southern Baptists in positions of power abusing those positions against another belief system.

Oh, and a side note, yes, Jeffs is a total creep, but the Gov really has no business telling anyone who they can and cannot associate with - for reasons I cannot currently detail he doesn't have the power base or influence to be much of a threat anymore regardless, and I'd be first in line to throw his ass in prison where he belongs, right along with a couple of the rest of his cadre, but the right to freedom of association is supposedly a given in our society.

More than that I cannot go into because of the ridiculous amount of legal finagaling going on as a direct result of matters of the situation that are not yet public, but may soon be.

It cannot be said enough, those who do not learn from history, are doomed to endlessly repeat it
