"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." -- William Casey, Reagan's presidential campaign manager & CIA Director (from first staff meeting in 1981)

In one of his town-hall rallies yesterday, John McCain slipped up in part of his speech. Or did he?

Quote:

John McCain said:

You and I together will confront the ten trillion dollar debt that the federal government has run up and balance the federal budget by the end of my term in office. Across this country, this is the agenda I have set before my fellow prisoners and the same standards of clarity and candor must now be applied to my opponent.

So he sees us all as his "fellow prisoners" here in America?

Interesting.

Mike

This world is a comedy for those who think, and a tragedy for those who feel.

I have a vote and I'm not afraid to use it!

Usually when people grab the wrong word it's something that kinda' sounds like the word they meant to use. I can't even imagine what the word was he was going for.

Any guesses ?

"Damn yokels, can't even tell a transport ship ain't got no guns on it." - Jayne Cobb

Maybe he was having a flashback when he said it, and thought the rally was in a big POW camp.

"... this is the agenda I have set before my fellow prisoners ..."

Still, it's bugging me. What could he possibly have meant ?

fellow ... pensioners ?

I'm sure it will all be played off as yet another "senior moment". Maybe old John is finally ready to toddle off to a senior citizens oasis like Leisure World in Arizona - or, as he referred to it,
"Seizure World".

SHINYGOODGUY

What is somewhat disturbing to me is that this is the best that the Republicans have.

Oh, I'm sorry, he has disassociated himself from that party (how convenient). He's now a member of the Maverick Party, you know the guy who reaches across the aisle and sticks his hnad in your pocket.

It would not surprise me that he meant to say "fellow prisoners" that's what Mavericks do, they bust out of jail.

....and the truth shall set you free.

Shiny! Let's be bad guys!
