Last winter I was driving along a snow-covered road when a dopey dipstick ignored a stop sign & pulled out in front of me, and forced me to drive up a snowbank to avoid a collision. Whatever. I drove home.
An hour ago Sonisall & his friend were throwing bang caps at the ground in the parking area when another dopey dipstick in a BMW heard one go off passing by, and skreetched to a stop, put it in reverse, and got out to chase the kids to my home, OPENING my door HIMSELF to come in & complain!!! Holy s**t, and me all out of hankerchiefs to offer the poor as**ole to dry his offended arrested adolescent tears.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE??? Do most idiots actually have the DESIRE to waste time being as**oles instead of going home to make a model, watch a movie or read a book? Or do peeps go home to do.... not much-?
I have a theory that terrorists are peeps that never had a hobby, so they took up bul***it instead.
Are there THAT many would-be terrorists around?
See, I have things to DO (like post silly stuff like THIS right here), is that dumass BMW driver just waiting for a chance to be a terrorist or something?

Seriously, are MOST peoples lives THAT empty?

If I had no life, I would have chased that jerk that cut me off last winter to the ends of the Earth to express my righteous indignation, I suppose.

Thoughts?
Rebukes?
Raw dismissals?

Hello,

People at peace with themselves do not chase children into houses and then perform home invasions. On this, we are in firm agreement.

Where I live fireworks go off all Summer. We have a major festival on the Milwaukee lakefront almost every weekend and fireworks are always part of it. So someone getting upset by some bangs & pops around here must be an alien lifeform.

We get upset when someone starts a fire with the castaway furnature from the mass of college students that move out every Summer. We usually have a couple of scorched out sofas sitting on peoples lawn every year. Gotta love the east side of Milwaukee.

Y'know I've been thinking... (never a good thing), we just got a pet cockatiel today, and it would not have reacted well to such noise...
Maybe this dude (who had some kind of accent) came from a country where his Mom died in an explosion...
We don't TRY to be jerks in life. Who knows what he's experienced to be like he is.

I'm trying to be understanding here. I am not the template for humanity & its wisdom & ways to react.

I started this thread to rant a bit (and maybe be funny), but in doing so, I realize that I need a bit more humility.

Interesting find by Wifeisall that relates a bit:

"We've evolved beyond that."- Jean-Luc Picard

I can be a jerk at times as well.

Hello,

There may be reasons that explain the behavior, and may make it forgiveable. (I find that most sins are forgiveable.)

However, that doesn't make the behavior correct. Your venting of frustration at poor behavior is a far smaller sin than a frenzied, maniacal chase that penetrates the perimiter of your safety and serenity.

It is good to try to see things from the other's shoes. But see everything, including the wrongness of it. You can understand without condoning. You are not a jerk merely because antagonism and thoughtless behavior troubles you.

It is heartening to see you taking the issue to heart, however. We should all wish for such inspection and introspection.

Thanks Tony. But...
He said "Serenity", heh heh heh....
Sorry, I had a Beavis moment there.

Still, Buddhist wannabe monk that I am, I feel a bit less than I can be for wanting to goof on this guy to his face for his (seeming) nonsense.

Yes.

Just look at the popularity of "reality" t.v. shows. "Real " people who are put in absurdly insane unreal situations, and we're suppose to buy into believing - ANYTHING we see ? Hell, professional wresslin' is more legit.

And to segue from the Firefly Fit Club.... take 10 minutes to just sit and watch people at a mall or some high traffic area where folks gather. I see not just folks who are a bit soft, or a few lbs over weight, but colossally obese individuals. They're all over the place, where ever you look! I was driving down the road the other day, it had to be 95 degrees out. I see this lady, probably mid 30's to early 40's... walking along the side of the road... her gut was enormous. It literally looked like she was carrying a spare tire under her clothes. She HAD to be miserable.

People! You don't need to live like that! It's totally in YOUR OWN power to do something about it and immensely improve your life! And like cattle at the feed trough, folks just continue to get bigger and bigger.... trying to fill what ever it is they feel they're missing in life by copious amounts of really poor food.

It's sad.

It is a matter of perspective. You do not know this guy's history. And your history is not known to him. No one got hurt and life goes on. I can't count how many times I have been wrong in my behaviour and yet I need to let it go and hope I learn from it and not repeat it.

Sorry, I'm just so happy with my FS.

Yeah, I can't fault him for his persistence, yet I *CAN* fault him for his persistence.

See, if he had a model to perfect, this thread would never have been started.

Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

Anthony, well said:

But I would add something. Some people are generally “controllers”. You see them everywhere...usually in either volunteer organizations, but people like that are also attracted to the idea of joining the police force or the Army, or strive to be supervisor at work, etc.. Those are the kind of people who don’t even think twice before inserting themselves into a situation in an effort to control whatever they think is wrong.

I had a relative like that. I hated her. She went out to tell some kids off who were playing, gave them a long lecture on how whatever they were doing (I forget what) was wrong, etc. I also ran into a “volunteer” on a horse who railed at me for having my dog off leash on a trail (the dog and horse weren’t even slightly interested in each other, but dogs are illegal on trails and she was a “volunteer” looking for such things. The desire to control others comes from fear, but those who have it think their actions are totally appropriate. He may well have a life...but within that life, he may well be a scout leader, etc., y’know?

Raptor, you’re leaving out all the myriad reasons (most subconscious) that cause people to put on weight. Depression, frustration, feelings of impotence, ease of being manipulated into buying things because of advertising, lack of self-esteem or self-love...there are many, many things that can go into it. To just say “DO IT” isn’t reasonable...many people CANNOT. I despise it too, and it makes me gasp to see the size of some people (and recognize, as you do, how uncomfortable they must be). But I do recognize that it’s all too easy just to say “lose weight!”

Chris, what's an FS?

That's a damn awesome model, btw.
Speakin of, we had the local vintage fighter pilots in town, them guys with the P51 mustangs for the Thunder Over Michigan show, and I got to ride in the ballgunners turret of a B17G, which was pretty cool, though it would have been better had I remembered to take my friggin camera, argh.
