Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

How To Succeed At Being Wealthy, Without Really Trying

First you go to a public high school and state college, both of which are FUNDED BY GOVERNMENT MONEY. ( http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2939627/bio)

Once you get your degree (from Oral Roberts University), you you work for the IRS and get paid GOVERNMENT MONEY to be a tax collector ( http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702303812104576437830202611
222.html
)

After that, you get yourself elected to your State Senate for a few years, so your salary gets paid BY THE GOVERNMENT.

Meanwhile, you start a clinic, call it "nonprofit" by paying your husband a salary, and get your employees subsidized to the tune of over $24,000 WITH GOVERNMENT MONEY and make aother $137,000 from GOVERNMENT MEDICAID. ( http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/43570552/ns/politics-decision_2012/t/bachm
anns-husband-got-medicaid-funds
/)

Along the way, you become partners with your father-in-law and GET GOVERNMENT SUBSIDIES for your farm totalling almost $260,000.( http://www.alan.com/2011/06/26/michele-bachmann-not-truthful-on-benefi
ting-from-government-money
/)

Next, you move from there to Congress, where your salary is paid BY GOVERNMENT MONEY and you get free healthcare, courtesy OF THE GOVERNMENT.( http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2939627/bio)

By then you can afford to get $417,000 IN GOVERNMENT MONEY to help you buy a 5,200-square-foot golf-course home. ( http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/bachmann-benefitted-from-federa
l-home-loan-program/2011/07/19/gIQAI12raI_story.html?wprss=rss_homepage
)

THEN you can get famous by trying to kill ALL those programs...and more!

It's good work if you can get it,
and if you get it, let me know:

Damn, Bachmann's good! She's been on the government teat since she was a kid!!

Much like the song by Alanis Morisette, which has very little to do with anything IRONIC, your post is equally off the mark towards 'hypocrisy'.

Oh, gawd, you're SO predictable. I've been off for a couple of hours and was on FAR longer than normal; seems like you've been here all that time; You just live here, do 'ya? Need the attention that bad, do 'ya?

Take a break, little man, you're starting to froth at the mouth.

I'd say "show me how all that, when she wants to do away with most of those programs which SHE benefitted from, isn't hypocritical?" but I know better. Reality, Raptor knows thou not.

Only came back to check on an e-mail, and wandered over here. So now I'm off to do other things; you stick around Raptor, I'm sure you feel more comfy here.

She's an elected official who hasn't swindled or stolen anything, but has only gotten what is lawfully allowed her (or anyone) in that position.

And she's trying to end the wasteful spending, by the federal govt, across the board, where it can affect the most and do the most good, for EVERYBODY, not just her.

Have you been a foster parent to 23 children?

( corrected. I didn't lie, btw, so kwickie's latter post is in error, until HE corrects his own mistake, as I have done with mine. )

Before this, my only reply was a cordial, and factual, 1 sentence.

Hardly 'frothing at the mouth', as you so hyper exaggerated. As usual.

And also, Ms Pelosi, who is independently wealthy, has bilked far more $ out of the tax payers, and continues to do so, but that's just peachy keen w/ you, huh?

Now THAT'S hypocrisy!

Rappy's job here is to spend all his posting time telling us that we're not worth wasting time responding to. And then wasting all that time responding just to tell us that.

Rappy's head is a nasty little feedback loop that's full of cracks.

So, when I reply to you, I'm posting that my time isn't worth wasting here, but when I DON'T post any replies, I run away.

Can't make up your mind, can ya ?

So you have no problem with people collecting unemployment, welfare, WIC, etc. After all, they're just getting what is lawfully allowed anyone in that position, right?

"Across the board"? Really? I notice that "board" doesn't really apply to her, though, does it?

Have you adopted and raised 23 children ?

No, and neither has Michelle Bachmann. You're lying with this idiotic claim of yours, proving you know nothing about her other than what you've been (wrongly) told by FauxNews and RushBo.

Can you show ANY evidence that Ms. Pelosi got anything more than anyone in her position would be legally entitled to? That was your claim in defending Ms. Bachmann, wasn't it?

Those are your primary methods: Post that we're not worthy of your oh-so-esteemed opinion, or run away when confronted with facts.

You also like claiming that nobody will accept your cites, while you quite easily and casually dismiss any cites, facts, and figures provided by anyone else, all while never offering up any evidence to refute them.

And then you wrap up by saying, "I'm right; you're wrong. Period. End of discussion. Thread closed."

That's pretty much your entire act, Rappy.

Until you start throwing around the profanities, of course.

Working for your pay check isn't the same thing as being on welfare.

And that pretty much blows the hell out of your silly little reply, right out of the water.

No need to say any more.

Except that the Bachmanns *ARE* on welfare. No matter what you call them, farm subsidies ARE welfare. And if Medicare isn't welfare, then why is the GOP trying to kill it?

If you've no need to say more, does that mean you'll stop posting?

For those interested, given I know it means nothing to you, Raptor: The hypocrisy is not that she GOT the money, it's that she's AGAINST the things that got her the money and is trying to do away with them, which means others won't get what she already has.

Re her housing loan:
Quote:

Bachmann has repeatedly called to abolish the GSEs, wanting them to “wind down and file for bankruptcy.”

Thus, it is somewhat surprising to learn that “just a few weeks before Bachmann called for dismantling the programs,” she and her husband actually took advantage of a home loan backed by those very same entities. According to the Washington Post, the Bachmanns received the maximum loan available from either Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac to help finance a “5,200-square-foot golf course home”. http://thinkprogress.org/economy/2011/07/26/279676/bachmann-benefited-
mortgage-lending-program
/

Totally hypocritical: "I want to dismantle this program, but before I do, I'm gonna get MINE...screw the rest of you."

Re subsidies:
Quote:

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) — so fond of accusing the Obama administration of foisting socialism on an unwilling America — has apparently been the recipient of about a quarter of million bucks in government handouts.
.....
Bachmann's family farm received $251,973 in federal subsidies between 1995 and 2006, with the bulk of the subsidies going to dairy and corn. Both dairy and corn are heavily subsidized — or "socialized" — businesses in America (in 2005 alone, Washington spent $4.8 billion propping up corn prices) and are subject to strict government price controls. http://www.politico.com/blogs/glennthrush/1209/Antisocialist_Bachmann_
got_250k_in_federal_farm_subsidies.html
again, "I benefitted from it, but I'll do my best to kill it for anyone in the future".

Re: Medicaid:
Quote:

Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., has forcefully denounced the Medicaid program... the mental health clinic run by her husband has been collecting annual Medicaid payments totaling over $137,000 for the treatment of patients since 2005, according to new figures obtained.

The previously unreported payments are on top of the $24,000 in federal and state funds that Bachmann & Associates, the clinic founded by Marcus Bachmann, a clinical therapist, received in recent years under a state grant to train its employees, state records show.
.....
When asked by anchor Chris Wallace on "Fox News Sunday" about the story's assertion that her husband's counseling clinic had also gotten federal and state funds, Bachmann replied that it was "one-time training money that came from the federal government. And it certainly didn't help our clinic."[If it didn't help their clinic by giving their employees free training, what DID it do?]

At another point, she said, "My husband and I did not get the money," ... But state records show that Bachmann & Associates has been collecting payments under the Minnesota's Medicaid program every year for the past six years. Karen Smigielski, a spokeswoman for the state Department of Human Services, said the state's Medicaid program is funded "about 50-50" with federal and state monies. The funds to Bachmann & Associates ... are based on a "fee for service" basis, meaning the clinic was reimbursed by Medicaid for the services it provided.

Smigielski added that these were not the only government funds that Bachmann & Associates has received. The clinic also participates in managed-care plans that are reimbursed under a separate state-funded Minnesota Health Care program.

Another state official, Patrice Vick, communications manager for the Human Services Department, said she was puzzled by Michelle Bachmann's assertion on the broadcast that the funds under the state grant went to employees. While the grant was to train employees to help them treat chemical dependency, the money did not go directly to those being trained, she said. "It went to the clinic," Vick said. "The contract was with the clinic," Vick added later.

Bachmann, a Tea Party favorite, has been a fierce critic of federal spending programs [including Medicaid] and has called for drastic cutbacks. This has especially been the case on health care...

"She's giving hypocrisy a bad name," said Ron Pollock, executive director of Families USA, a consumer health care advocacy group, when asked about the Medicaid payments to Bachmann & Associates. "It's clear when it feathers her nest she's happy for Medicaid expenditures. But people that really need it — folks with disabilities and seniors — she's turning their backs on them." http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/43570552/ns/politics-decision_2012/t/bachm
anns-husband-got-medicaid-funds/
this case, it's not only hypocrisy, it's blatant lies. "My husband and I did not get the money" is a falt-out lie.

She's also against health insurance paid for by the government, yet she's happy to RECEIVE exactly that.

I never said any of what she's done isn't legal or that she's swindled or stolen anything, you're deliberately mischaracterizing what I wrote. I said her actions and her words don't jibe; she's a hypocrite. I know that'll never get into your head, you can't accept anything bad about your gods, but the fact is she's spoken AND WORKED against, and tried to dismantle, the very program from which she has benefited. That's simply fact and undisputable.

Please show facts and figures of how Pelosi has "bilked" taxpayers (so you admit Bachmann has bilked taxpayers), and then show where Pelosi has spoken out AGAINST and tried to dismantle the programs from which SHE has benefited. If you can do that, she's equally hypocritcal.
