Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...
Quote:Wendy Long, New York's Republican U.S. Senate candidate, has lots to say about your ladyparts. As we reported last week, Long is apparently against abortion in all cases and anti-birth control. Now, news has surfaced indicating that Long has put contraception in a patriotic context, saying in stump speeches that soldiers "didn't die for what Kirsten Gillibrand is saying -- for the right to force religious employers to pay for their employees' contraception," according to HuffPo (via a Thursday night RH Reality Check post). In another address, she further alluded to that controversial Health and Human Services mandate, saying: "It wasn't so that Kirsten Gillibrand and Barack Obama could regulate us with Health and Human Services regulations mandating that religious employers pay for their employees' contraception...that isn't why these guys died." We reached out to Long's campaign for comment. We'll update if we hear back. http://blogs.villagevoice.com/runninscared/2012/07/wendy_long_birth_control_dead_soldiers.php
