Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

Is someone trying to change the subject, maybe?

Mitt Romney has repeatedly declined to answer questions about his vice presidential selection process, but he raised the subject in an e-mail Saturday to supporters.

"Sometime soon, I will be choosing a vice presidential candidate to join our winning ticket," he wrote.

The e-mail from the candidate follows a similar one from his campaign manager, Matt Rhoades, on Thursday which invited supporters to donate to his campaign and enter themselves for a chance to meet Romney and his choice for No. 2.

"I would like the chance to personally introduce my running mate to you," Romney wrote in the e-mail.

The e-mail offered no indication of who he may pick. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2012/07/14/romney-talks-vp-prospe

I heard the idiocy being floated that he might pick Rice, which gave me a good laugh. She's female, she's Black, and she's pro-choice. Three strikes and you're OUT!

Is this more of the "let's change the conversation in the base" effort to get away from the Bane controversy? Or just the usual political bullshit? Asking for donations...if that isn't a laugh. Given his own money, the incredible pile of mone he's getting from his rich sponsors, he needs donations? Like a donkey needs a pair of shoes!

Think he'll pick Palin?
