My broadcast studio teacher said no 'local news reporter' on TV ever writes what the say off the teleprompter, that's written by anonymous producers.

She didn't mention the anonymous 'local' producers are in DC or NYC.

America loves a winner!

What's really eerie is that the exact same words on all these different stations, which are themselves run by different networks. It'd be scary enough if it were just ONE, like NBC, but for every network to be using the same text ? That's too much for coincidence.

I dunno how far back this sort of stuff goes on, but I do recall folks taking notice of it back during the 2000 election. When the issue of then candidate Bush came up, and how he some how lacked 'gravitas', that one word caught on, and EVERYONE used it. At every network. And sure enough, when he chose Cheney as his VP choice, what word did they all use to describe him ? 'Gravitas'

But even then, it was just one popular word, parroted about by everyone, so as to sound informed, hip, or what ever.

But ever since then, when the big talking heads on all the networks start chiming in unison over some issue, some folks take notice. Sadly, not enough, though.

One of my professors last week said when she started decades ago, 80% of students were in journalism, 20% in public relations. Now that's reversed.

Apparently 'journalists' today are actually repeating press releases, rather than investigating and reporting facts.
