Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...
Quote:Record 65 Firearms Discovered This Week – This beats our previous record of 50 guns. Of the 65 firearms, 54 were loaded and 19 had rounds chambered. A passenger at Salt Lake City (SLC) received a pat-down after an anomaly was detected during advanced imaging technology screening. During the pat-down, officers discovered a fully loaded .22 caliber firearm inside his boot and strapped to the prosthetic leg.
Quote:Despite well-publicized airport security measures, U.S. travelers attempted to bring more than 1,500 guns on board planes in 2012 — resulting in the most annual confiscations on record, according to a Transportation Security Administration report. The year’s final tally put the total number of confiscated firearms for the year at 1,527, although the TSA still hasn’t released official figures on its blog for the final few days of 2012 {It was expected to end up over 1,550}. It’s still a significant increase over 2011, when more than 1,300 guns were seized by the agency. http://newsfeed.time.com/2013/01/10/tsa-confiscates-record-number-of-guns-at-u-s-airports-in-2012/#ixzz2UWTU4qvS
