You honestly think they're better than the Phelps clan ?

These aren't some small collection of nuts who scream and yell vulgar things, and then are gone for good. These folks are changing the make up of the town, growing in size and determined to spread their faith, while fully intent on driving out all others.

You seriously can't deny there's a big problem here, can you ?

I bet if I look hard enough I can find quotes similar to yours regarding blacks moving into towns, or jews, or just about any other religious or ethnic group.

The thing about freedom is that people get to do things you don't like.

Search anywhere you'd like. You won't find any such crap.

( And FYI, I lived for 10 years in an area which had a high orthodox jewish population. Every Saturday, they'd be walking up and down the street, dozens and dozens of them. Wasn't my cup of tea, but I thought it cool that they held to their beliefs , right along side those who had different views. There were no " go to hell " chants coming from them, or anyone else. )

And this isn't about freedom. These radicals don't respect the laws of the land. Did you even watch the full video ?

I did watch the video. I laughed at the part where the women got asked "Who are you trying to saduce?"

Yes these people are nuts, but this is about freedom. In a free country people don't have to respect the laws, so long as they don't break them. They don't have to respect the traditions or the customs. They can even call the government nasty things and call for changes in the laws restricting freedoms. That's right freedom means you can call for an end to freedom.

In the end if they move into a town and start to change it what is there to do about it? Are you going to call for their rights to be taken away?

This video is from BRITAIN-- yanno, like England...

might be a problem for some of our British browncoat buddies sometime soon, but they gotta swim across this really BIG POND, it's called the Atlantic something or other, then they gotta infiltrate the entire continent of North America before they get to California.

SO I ain't plannin' to stay up nights worryin' about it.

Million Muslim March Planned in DC on Anniversary of 9-11

A group called The American Muslim Political Action Committee (AMPAC) is planning a one million Muslims march to Washington D.C. on September 11th. The timing of the group's march is seen by many as tasteless (to say the least) considering it is scheduled for the anniversary of the worst domestic massacre in American history perpetrated in the name of Islam. AMPAC ups the tasteless quotient by issuing "demands" for the American government:

We at AMPAC (American Political Action Committee) are planning an historic event for 9.11.13 where one million Muslims will march to Washington D.C. and demand that our civil rights be protected by our government.

* We are demanding that laws be enacted protecting our 1st amendment . We are asking President Obama to fulfill his promise from his first campaign for Presidency of a transparent government. Lastly we are asking for the release of the 9/11 commission report to the American people.

( OH - it does get better... )

On 9.11.01 our country was forever changed by the horrific events in New York. The entire country was victimized by the acts done on that day. Muslim and Non Muslim alike were traumatized but we as Muslims continue 12 years later to be victimized by being made the villains. To this day every media outlet and anti Islamic organization has committed slanderous and libel statements against us as Muslims and our religion of Islam.

Yet our Government either sits idly by and does nothing to protect our freedoms or it exacerbates the problem with its constant war on terrorism in Islamic countries, congressional hearings on Islam in America, and its changes to the NDAA law.

These lies told to the American population has made it impossible for us to do true Dawa. Why do we have to defend our religion while doing Dawa? Why can’t we just share the perfection of the Quran and the beauty of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SWS)?

You might be familiar with this.

Quote:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people to peacefully assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Edited slightly, for emphasis, without changing the meaning: " Congress shall make no law abridging the right of the people peacefully to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. "

Sounds about as legal as those Open Carry folks last year who were gonna march on Washington D C carrying loaded firearms on July 4th.

Okay, let’s say these zealots do start to move into a small town in the US. They could get enough of them in the town to effect elections and get some of their people voted into government positions. That's democracy. There is nothing you can really do about it unless you are will to take that group’s rights away. As much as I hate what they are preaching I'm not willing to take that step.

Now they could try and intact Shara law, but will run into problems with many part of it violating county, state and federal laws. This is where the US legal system would stop this. Even in Great Britain were they are allowing individuals to resolve disputes in Shara courts it is not superseding the laws, individuals must agree to go to these courts and to the outcomes, much like mediation.

So today I'll offer you some FACTS from Huffpost, WITH backup citations, which you'll of course dismiss:quote]'Million Muslim March' Planned On 9/11 Anniversary Prompts Conservative Freakout

Conservative media outlets were buzzing Thursday over a Muslim political advocacy group's plans to hold a "Million Muslim March" on Washington, D.C., on the 12th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

The event, first announced in January ( http://www.presstv.com/detail/2013/01/31/286487/million-muslim-march-o
n-white-house
/), is being organized by the American Muslim Political Action Committee (AMPAC), a fringe group led by M.D. Rabbi Alam, a professed 9/11 truther ( http://freebeacon.com/secretary-of-truth/) who has pushed controversial anti-Semitic conspiracy theories about the attacks. Last year, he made a failed bid for Missouri’s secretary of state, and his group has been doing little ( http://theamericanmuslim.org/tam.php/features/articles/a-million-musli
m-march/0019934
) besides trying to attract national attention ever since.

AMPAC was finally successful on Thursday, when Breitbart News reported on the event ( http://www.breitbart.com/InstaBlog/2013/08/15/Million-Muslim-March-Pla
nned-in-DC-on-Anniversary-of-9-11
), calling it "tasteless" and including an unrelated picture of hundreds of Muslims praying in front of the Capitol. Fox News later broke from their coverage of the violent military crackdown in Egypt, which has left nearly 600 dead and thousands injured, to give viewers an "alert" on the so-called "Million Muslim March," and going so far as to note that the total supporters of the event could currently be counted on two hands. A Facebook page for the "Million Muslim March" -- which previously showed less than 10 people planning to attend -- had been taken down by the time of publish.

Organizers of the "Million Muslim March" have defended the timing of their event ( http://ampacus.webs.com/) by noting that "Muslim[s] and Non Muslim[s] alike were traumatized" on Sept. 11, 2001. True, but beneath the group's insistence that the march will be about civil rights, indefinite detention, and "slanderous" statements about Islam, lies a toxic strain of trutherism. That fact led Corey Saylor, spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, to tell U.S. News last mont ( http://www.usnews.com/news/blogs/washington-whispers/2013/07/16/millio
n-muslim-march-scheduled-for-sept-11-reorients-to-seek-911-truth)h
that CAIR would definitely not support the event.

Most groups and individuals have responded similarly, though the event did reportedly receive some backing last month from other truther groups and at least one Pennsylvania tea party organization.

At the time of the U.S. News report, AMPAC had even changed the title of the event to "Million American March Against Fear," perhaps in an effort to get more mainstream support. The name apparently didn't catch on, however, so it looks they've since decided to revert back to the more controversial name ( http://ampacus.webs.com/apps/blog/show/31305783-million-muslim-march-s
pawns-annual-conference-think-tank
). http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/08/15/million-muslim-march_n_376297

In other words, YOU and Breitbart are giving them the attention they seek.

Okay, I just watched the video.

I think there's a distinction to be made here between disapproving of islamist extremists and the idea that her hometown is changing.

There is a peaceful protest going on. She can, and does, disagree with the message. That's all perfectly in order. I don't see how this affects the laws and way of life of general Britain or even this town?

And yes, the town is changing. It happens. Things change. New people move in. She doesn't have a right to preserve a British Christian monoculture, it's simply not how Britain's demographics work these days. Unless they're actually breaking the law, in which case there is a process in place to deal with it, there's really nothing wrong.

And I'm saying this as someone who strongly disapproves of all extremist religion.

We didn't see them break any laws. If they had, they would face the response of the established legal system, wouldn't they? So whatever this guy may spout about not respecting the law, he is not immune to facing the consequences if he acts on that belief. Like all criminals, really. I don't see the glaring issue that would make this different from WBC.

And yes, the comments by the muslim woman were hateful and closed-minded. I agree with neither her demeanor nor her opinions. None of it is illegal, though. Nor were they harassing her. She followed their march and engaged in conversation with them when this exchange occurred. Them having this opinion of her doesn't really affect her life. The moment it does, you're likely looking at a breach of existing laws concerning harassment or discrimination. This didn't occur here.

I felt the conversation about burning in hell pretty fruitless. Christianity essentially says the same thing about non-Christians. They're just less in-your-face about it, or most of them. It underlines that these are, indeed, extremists. It sucks. But if they're not breaking the law, what do you REALLY want to do about it? Discriminate against them beyond merely requiring them to obey the law?

I'm surprised you're wondering, Rouka. From all he's posted over time, the answer should be obvious. "What ARE you going to do about it when a bunch of radicals immigrate to your town, start getting elected to positions of power, and eventually, start installing Sharia law ?" Given that's the insane paranoia running around his head, what do you think he wants to do? And obviously, unless we're willing to say "something should be done", we're all "ignoring" it...that will be next.

What he doesn't get is that we hate such things, just like we hate the KKK and any form of religious extremism, but our country has tolerated the KKK, IS tolerating the radical Christian right, Westboro and all the other ugly expressions humanity comes up with. It would seem that unless we pick up arms and go after them ourselves, we'll continue to be labeled as "ignoring" it by Rap forever.

So it's a very valid question. Let's ignore for the minute that his paranoid fantasy will never happen. But not "what would you like to see done?", but the same question he asked of us: What is HE going to do about it?

What is the evidence? An extremist group is staging a provocative but peaceful protest.

And I really WOULD like an answer from Auraptor what he thinks should be done. So far he is demanding outrage but not really justifying it because no actual laws are being broken in his video.

Yes, a lot of Brits are muslims, yes, some of them are extremists. But unless anyone is breaking the law, what about it? Please, answer that question.

What we see is obvious: "An extremist group is staging a provocative but peaceful protest."

Okay, if what he requires is

1. Be aware of what IS actually happening.
2. Don't back down. Don't be intimidated by insane chants or absurd views.

Then we ARE, to both. But that's not what Rap's doing. He put it up as "Coming to YOUR hometown soon!" and posited a whole lot of horrible things which the video doesn't show and which haven't happened. His point is totally obvious, he didn't title it "IF this comes to YOUR hometown...", and he claims we're "ignoring" it, despite the fact that people having watched the video and commented on it denies that clearly. We are neither denying nor ignoring anything, we just aren't getting furious about it as he is, nor are we harboring expectations we'll soon (or ever) be fighting off armed rebellion in our streets.

The fact is that everyone here IS aware of what's happening, from Islamist extremists to the KKK, WBC, "Christian" extremists and all the others. The fact is that in America, anti-abortion extremists HAVE killed people, "intimidated by insane chants AND absurd views", and more. We tolerate them all and look to the law, or at least most of us do, thankfully.

Fail.

That you'd lump the kkk and wbc nuts in w/ the " moderate " Muslim immigration problem is of no surprise. The former are fringe and dying embers from a day gone by, while the latter are motivated, organized and growing.
