Normally japan has the market cornered on weird technological advancements. I think that's what AURaptor is saying.

As for vampires, no way out, it's a curse and the violation of social mores is meant as the price to pay for their immortality. Also, they're wracked by blood born illnesses, and the lack of beating heart and circulation problems means you're looking more at Nosferatu than Anne Rice in terms of the "romantic" department.

On the plus side, I'm pretty sure it only counts for them if they actually bite their victims, so no cheating and raiding the bloodbanks to retroactively turn someone after death.
