Interesting Wish....

At work I don't listen to headphones or talk on a smartphone to friends/family like a lot of people I work with, so my first inclination would be to say that this wouldn't be a problem for me.

On the other hand, while at work, half of my brain functions are geared towards problem solving and laying out my game-plan in my head for what needs to be accomplished for the night and the quickest and smartest way to go about it without cutting corners.... so I don't know how well I'd be able to just sit and think for 15 minutes, especially knowing that people were monitoring me.

Also worth mentioning is that there was about 10 days there where the store's music wasn't working and from time to time I'd notice and even dwell on it, while I could also go 4 hours without even noticing it. Half of the music is bad, but the other half is at least moderately enjoyable. I do think that not having this music (always interrupted by the incessant store commercials) interrupts the flow of the mild self-hypnosis I seem to put myself into while working by myself for hours working by myself even when there are others around me.

When I was a kid and had braces, while coming home from a trip to the Sears Tower with my trusty Japanese transistor radio, I somehow figured out that if you put the two ends of the 9 volt battery on the top and bottom row that you give yourself a mild head-shock...

I must admit that I must have shocked myself at least 10 times on the trip home. "Woah dude! Did you see that flash!" Of course they didn't see that flash. They sure got a laugh when I did it again and showed them though.

Wow Wish.....

I haven't thought about that for years, maybe even decades.

Maybe that's the problem right there.

Maybe I short-circuted some wiring in my still very much developing 10 year old brain?

Haha! And I just remembered how I got to even think about trying that. When I was a kid I remember my mom showing me how you get a little charge if you put the 9-volt battery to your tongue. (Before you grab your torches and pitchforks, remember this was in the days that after school specials were in their infancy and the internet wasn't even available for more than a decade later).

There I was... bored on the bus on the travel home from the Sears Tower. Bored of whatever music I could find. Bored of my friends.

I took out that battery and burned my tongue a few times. It doesn't feel good, but it doesn't feel bad. It's actually so mild it's silly. I guess it was just something to do....

I don't remember if it was an accident or if the thought just popped into my mind, but when the positive and negative hit the two rows of braces it made my eyes see fireworks....

I don't believe I ever did that again before the braces were taken off, but it was something "new" for a day.

Guess I did that experiment years ago Wish.

I'd love to know if I'd keep zapping myself now.....

Did you ever see this?
