That thought crossed my mind too.

The only time I've ever seen media apologize for things is if they were facing a lawsuit.

Alex Jones is a nutter, and I don't listen to him that often, but this does seem out of character for him.

I've never listened to Jones until now - but I've never heard such an extended verbal squirming in my life. It was just weird. I can't imagine what the purpose of it was.
