And you ain't gonna tell me that this is their idea of fun.

And politically, you're right Ghoulman, all these fellas (don't think there're any girl gunmen, but I could be wrong) are rather to the right of center (oops, of course any number of them could drone on for untold paragraphs explaining how they're centrists and the likes of you and me are strictly lunatic fringe elements, you know--break out your tin foil hat and all that).

What followed was a really, really nasty, convoluted and generally hateful thread. Eventually I gave up on the thread and stopped coming to this board for a couple months. And that ladies and gents is the problem. I got turned off because I tried to post rational and thoughful comments and became disenchanted when I didn't convert anyone.

How does the old joke go? "Never try to teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time and annoys the pig." That's where I'm at now. I'll post simple responses but I'll stay away from the religious and political discussions. You'll never change someone elses mind.

Besides, all it does is annoy the pig.


Now, how's about we get on with this increasingly eerie-ass day
