I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

This is one of the problems with alliances that I was posting about to SECONDRATE: Being in an alliance means that you might wind up in a war not of your own choosing. There might be a reason why a nation might choose to be in an alliance because of mutual defense, but does anyone REALLY think that France or Canada would be defending the USA? NATO is an alliance that is all headache and cost for us, with no benefit.

Turkey, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Nagorno-Karabakh.... like, where is THAT?? Somewhere in "who the fuck cares where-land?"

But people forget that Turkey is a member of NATO, Erdogan is the crazed leader of Turkey, and if Turkey is attacked then the other NATO member states are supposed to come to Turkey's aid. Meanwhile, Russia is supporting Armenia, so Russia and the USA could be put on a path of direct conflict. Which would, seriously, be no bueno for the USA.

The USA being chained to Erdogan via NATO is one of those nightmare scenarios that should have been foreseen, and avoided. Nations change, and so do leaders. Alliances with no expiry and no exit should be avoided.
