LOL

The bill for Biden* is coming in. On top of everything else that went up, everybody is getting that first taste of what energy costs under extreme Leftist leadership.

Not only has the continued downward price of natural gas over the last decade and a half reversed, but it costs more to heat your house than it did during the peak of the GWB administration.

Have fun spinning that one.

I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

Our latest bill was shocking. We HAVE been keeping the house a couple of degrees warmer than usual, but still... double our previous similar-month bill???

Yeah. Now imagine the sticker shock when you're having nights in the teens all the way down to sub-zero like it is around here tonight.

It's not quite double last year's bill around me, but the cost per therm is up 120% from what it was last year. The fixed cost supply stuff is what is keeping the bill from being twice as much.

Too bad for Democrats, the only people who don't care about the cost of the heat bills are the same ones who are going to say that it doesn't matter.

Yanno, the rich white people.

IMO what we'll be reminded of about Biden* depends on whether or not tptb will think he's still useful. Because ... remember Portland? It's not like most people care anymore. For the most part, the country's moved on from ... Atlanta ... George Floyd ... ... BLM ... Portland ... at least until the media decides it's time to start flogging a topic again.

Midterms are in November.

The Legacy Media had better work overtime hiding the high natural gas prices next year unless this problem actually goes away by then.

True, but Biden*'s Job Approval and Favorability ratings have never recovered.

The media liked to tell you that it was because of Afghanistan, but I don't see that in the news much anymore. This administration can't do a single thing right. I can't imagine much is going to change in 10 months.

It should also be noted that Neo-Cons like little Bush got to see record Oil prices although Biden's gasoline prices may now be worse prices and his approval even lower.

I remember saying that GWB was the worst president we ever had all the time back then.

At least Trump gave us a 4 year break from the other two being progressively worse than Bush was.

Natural gas prices are not set by the cost to produce the gas. The price is set to maximize the producers' wealth. When the buyers of gas are stupid and will blame the President for high prices, the producers can raise the price until they have taken all the money the buyers have. If buyers were smart, they could see what the market is doing to them in the regularly published information about natural gas, but they aren't smart, they see nothing, they understand nothing, which is just how the gas producers like it.

Natural Gas Weekly Update tells the whole story, but Signym, 1kiki, and especially 6ix can't comprehend the story the way natural gas producers understand the story.

So Cal anyway is still dealing with the effects of the Aliso Canyon nat gas blowout. Companies buy nat gas when it's cheap and abundant and store it at high pressure in caverns here, to be drawn down later. But Aliso Canyon blew out its nat gas (Aliso Canyon Gas Blowout October 23, 2015). For a long time the owner So Cal Gas Co needed to repair the storage, then was prevented from using it until safety and other concerns were addressed, and now it can only store nat gas at half-capacity. That puts it at the mercy of the spot market, which, of course, is manipulated by the sellers.

On a local level, that's a hell of a problem.

It's similar to what's happening on the national level now though.

Democrat and Leftist energy policies worldwide, on top of covid lockdowns, and some unfortunate non-windy weather for the non-US countries that were all in on green energy lead to a very high demand worldwide because shit doesn't work if the wind isn't blowing and WE have to pay for other people's mistakes.

They were saying as early as July that nat gas prices were going to be outrageous this year because X amount of natural gas had already usually been stocked up by late July and they had ZERO.

Hey. That's fine. Go green. I'm not a climate change denier.

But figure it out. Things don't always go perfect, and you can't just fuck over everyone who needs the energy because you're dipshit Leftists without a contingency plan.

6ix, there is NO contingency plan designed by government to keep the natural gas flowing. Never has there been a government plan, yet gas does keep flowing, but only to keep increasing the wealth of the producers. Never do natural gas producers keep the gas flowing for the comfort of the buyers in winter. The story of industry has always been about what is best for increasing the wealth of the sellers. For some psychological reason, the buyers think the government is in charge of the natural gas industry, but it is not. The industry is in charge.

The natural gas industry sets its prices, not the government nor the buyers. The industry decides how much it will produce, not the government nor the buyers. The arrangement is very simple, but most people outside the industry are completely confused about who makes what decisions.

The natural gas industry loves the fact that buyers don't understand the industry. It makes it so much easier to get wealthy.

If the government had contingency plans to keep natural gas flowing at predictable and low price, the natural gas industry would call it Communism. Most Americans would agree it is Communism. Because they are so easy for the industry to fool, most American buyers of natural gas deserve to pay too much for their natural gas. The industry is perfectly happy when buyers pay too much.

Fools and their money are soon parted. This phrase is at least 460 years old, yet fools be fooled.

Enough of your bullshit, dude.

When Democrat and Leftist policy both here and abroad keep natural resources in the ground instead of stocked up, the providers get to charge more because of what essentially amounts to artificial scarcity.

Biden*'s Administration did this.

Biden*'s Administration tanked the economy.

That's what you voted for. Fucking own it.

Natural gas is not the only industry depending on easily fooled buyers such as 6ix paying the maximum price to industry. Gasoline does the same. The gasoline refiners are in control of the price and supply of gasoline. The government is NOT in control. The buyers of gasoline are NOT in control. America has exactly the system that gasoline refiners would design to maximize the growth of their wealth.

6ix, the natural gas industry depends on fools like you to make it wealthy. You are one of those fools who is easily parted from their money. You constantly make false statements about economics, scream to high heaven that you know The Truth, and never make the connection between your foolish beliefs and why you have so little money. That's how you are now, that's how you will die.

The natural gas producers of America are thankful that you blame Biden for what the producers do. Keep doing what you have been doing, 6ix, because it works so well for the producers.

LOL, what?

You must be smoking crack. Work on my paid-for house aside, I spend less money in a year than the average American spends in a month. I know people who pay for 1 week vacations that could pay every bill I have for an entire year.

I have plenty of money dude. Easily enough to get myself into trouble if I didn't develop discipline over the years.

I have noticed a weakness of many Americans, both Democrat and Republican, both rich and poor. They brag about tiny accomplishments, especially when being told true things they want to believe are false because they feel better not knowing the truth. The truth tends not to inflate their self-esteem and they really crave plaudits, can't hardly live without being praised and told how smart they are and how much they have accomplished and how beautiful their lawn and house are. It is all rather sad for America that so many are this way, needing constant boosts for their spirit. But then again, when have Americans ever been truly impressive as they want to pretend being?

I don't need to save the world. I don't need to cure cancer. I don't need to make a million bucks. I sure as shit don't need your approval.

You're just salty that I'm awesome, and I do it without being loaded or even having a desire to be.

Meanwhile, I'll probably end up working for somebody else an average of 5 hours per week from now until retirement.

So, no... your opinions on this issue as it pertains to me carry no water.

Go find somebody else to poor shame.
