ABC News and its top anchor George Stephanopoulos have reached a $15 million settlement deal with President-elect Donald Trump in an agreement to drop his defamation suit and avoid a costly trial.

The settlement was filed on Saturday, with the news network agreeing to pay the money as a charitable contribution to a “Presidential foundation and museum to be established by or for Plaintiff, as Presidents of the United States of America have established in the past.” ABC News has also agreed to pay $1 million in attorney fees.

The lawsuit comes after Trump sued Stephanopoulos for comments he made in an interview with Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC), during which he claimed the president-elect had been found liable for rape.

I don't ever want to hear one word about rape out of Ted again.

Trump is fine.
He is also your current President.

I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

The thing that makes this remarkable is that Trump is a public figure, and in order to prove defamation against public figures you have to show malicious intent. So whatever Stephanopolous said and whatever the context, it must have been extreme enough to cause cbs to go "oh shit" and settle.

And, you know that you'll read THUGR posting something about Trump and rape. The guy is a hyperpartisan and facts don't make an impression on him.

its all dead now, Buzzfeed, Mika MorningJoe and CNN were worse with their Pissgate stuff

Trump is it about fixing a broken system or its it more narcissism about himself his ego and personal insults rather than fixing the clown show and gonzo journalists who prostituted themselves to a fake system?

Reagan destroyed it and Clinton sold out the media, the senileshit Reagan was useless like a Biden that whole 'Fairness Doctrine' the fall of Lebanon to islamists telling US Marines to run away while deep in narco contra and islamist arm sales by 'Irangate' ...Ronnie was made into a fictional war hero. When little Bush got in they Fired Phil Donahue, the highest rated person on MSNBC, the DeepState said he must go because he was against the war. Phil Donahue a frequent guest was Ralph Nader, outside of the 2-Party system, as they got ready for an endless War in Iraq they said his program could be "anti-war agenda"

its all gone now, replaced by Gonzo journalism
