Legality

Several experts have questioned the legality of the strike under U.S. law and international law. The Trump administration has not stated what legal authority or justification the military had to carry out the strike.[18][19] The Atlantic suggested that Trump was relying on his Article II powers. Political scientist Peter Feaver noted that every presidential administration since Ronald Reagan's considered deploying military force in the war on drugs, but only the second Trump administration followed through.[20]

Aftermath

President Trump hinted towards further military action, stating: "There's more where that came from."[10]

The U.S. Navy has increased the size of the patrolling group, to include USS Gravely, USS Jason Dunham, USS Sampson, USS Iwo Jima, USS San Antonio, USS Fort Lauderdale, USS Lake Erie, USS Minneapolis-Saint Paul, and USS Newport News along with an undisclosed number and type of aircraft surveilling the area.[21] Part of the Marine Corps contingent includes the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit.[22]

Because they are illiterate, they were unable to read Debt of Honor by Tom Clancy, about 6 years prior.

Now Trump's War on Terrorists caught them flatfooted again. Clancy's Clear And present Danger helped spell out some of what we are seeing in the news now. That was around 35 years ago.

A better (IMHO) book was Cobra, by Fredrick Forsythe IIRC, about 15 years ago. Technically, Cobra is a sequel, with characters established in Avenger. But Avenger is not really required reading before Cobra. Both titles refer to code-names, like CIA practice. I enjoy both, have read both numerous times.

The Trump family notched as much as $5 billion in paper wealth on Monday after its flagship crypto venture opened trading of a new digital currency.

The launch is akin to an initial public offering, in which the cryptocurrency, called WLFI, can now be bought and sold on the open market like a listed company’s shares. Beforehand, people who had privately bought WLFI from the Trump venture, World Liberty Financial, hadn’t been able to exchange their tokens.

The trading debut was most likely the biggest financial success for the president’s family since the inauguration. The Trump family, including President Trump himself, holds just under a quarter of all WLFI tokens in existence. Trump’s three sons are co-founders of World Liberty, while it names the president a “Co-Founder Emeritus.”

World Liberty says founders and team members’ tokens remain “locked,” meaning they still can’t sell them. But the trading launch now puts a real-world valuation on their holdings, which previously were valued based on private sales.

WLFI is likely now the Trumps’ most valuable asset, exceeding their decades-old property portfolio. While the president’s family has continued to pursue property deals around the world since taking office, the fast-moving crypto business has had the biggest early impact.

President Trump helped launch World Liberty a year ago, while campaigning, saying it would help make “America Great Again, this time with crypto.”

World Liberty’s rise this year came as the president drove the growth of the crypto industry from the White House, reining in regulation and touting the potential of private, digital currencies to invigorate the U.S. economy.

In advance of the WLFI trading debut, World Liberty this summer took over a publicly listed firm and raised $750 million in cash from investors to buy the cryptocurrency.

The "War on Drugs" was bullshit from day one.

Didn't help nobody. Everybody I grew up with was doing drugs by the time they left high school, and we all went through it. Half of my friends are already dead or were cut off years ago when I got my own shit together and couldn't be around them anymore if I ever wanted to fix things.

And I went to college so often on weekends that people who went there thought that I was a student and asked me my major. Both at ISU and at North Western. All they were doing was drinking and doing drugs, all the time.

It's why that expensive fucking piece of paper doesn't actually mean anything. I knew that before the year 2000, more than 25 years before the media is finally starting to admit that for most people it's a fuckin' scam.

The only degrees beyond high school that actually mean anything are Masters, Doctorates and Law degrees. And the people who got those are the ones who were the most likely NOT to be getting fucked up 24/7 for 4 years straight before they went on to the real higher education.

A bachelor's degree is a degree in Keg Stands and just serves as proof that you took out a loan you'll be paying off for the rest of your life, or your parents or government paid for you to get 4 more years of government mindrinsing and you survived them without an overdose or choking on your own vomit because your friends were too fucked up and/or ignorant to roll you over on your side when you passed out.
