It doesn't add up. China vs India is the largest war I can fathom right now as a possibility, but if the commie govt collapsed, i don't think a new china would be game to hold it.

I think you were more on target with chiina being the now model from one world govt.

Brain ling? Any idea what to do to lower heart rate? So far nothing is working

Dreamtrove? Did ya finally get it down or what? The only thing that came to mind was an old E.R. episode where Carter dunked this guy's head in a tub of cold water and held it, but I think that might have been for arrythmia(sp?) Oh, well it still sounds like fun, doesn't it?

Also, if anyone has been watchin' there has been a SEVENTH stabfest in China, but this time the dude at least had the common courtesy of attacking grown up folk... It appears they are moving up from attacking kiddies, thankfully. Six gals injured this time, a couple seriously, though...

I have low enough blood pressure that I have dizzy and fainting spells, and definitely I have periods where I have a racing heart beat. Sometimes it feels like something catching or stopping in my heart, but the doctors never could find anything.

Mine hasn't lasted for days on end though, that's nuts. Hmm. Do you get enough iron? I hear that lack of iron plus low blood pressure can sometimes cause weird stuff with the heart. It could be something chemical like that, mixed with the seizure problems you said you've had before all the stuff with the naturalistic medicine. What'd you do for the seizures? I'd take that up again, just in case, don't want to end up with a clot or stroke from random electrical firings in the heart muscle. And add some iron supplements. Hopefully that'll help.

What does the pacemaker in the heart work based on? Anything you can throw in there to maybe help regulate it?

Iremisst, byte

Thaks for the concern, not, it hasn't on gone down. Tachycardia is caused by low blood pressure

The pacemaker of the heart sets its rate according to blood oxygen levels. Bp can also be affected this. The maintenance of a constance blood oxygen is much more of a survival issue than the others, as it can kill you right away, so lter system move to accommodate. They cannot however keep it up long term. You have to find a fix pretty quick to not die of it.

Byte, that sounds problematic.do you get enough exercise?diet issues? If there's a heart issuedpnt do any strenuous exercise, but stay active.

Well, then yeah. I'd still try more iron. Iron is more hemoglobin is higher blood oxygen content.

I dunno about diet. I seem healthy, I'm a healthy weight for my size, and don't have much fat anywhere. Usually it happens when I'm sitting, or I lean over in some way. Then the heart does that whatever thing, and I have to struggle to take in air. Shallow breaths, because it catches every time I inhale, a pretty sharp pain. I force my lungs to expand a little more each time, until finally I can inflate to full capacity, and it goes away. Until the cycle repeats, which can happen a few minutes later.

I would think it's my lungs, except the pain is always around where my heart is.

I've had it for as long as I can remember. About a year ago I was able to exercise regularly, for about 3 hours a week, cardiovascular and endurance. Then I hurt my back, and had to scale back exercise. The frequency of the episodes didn't drop off, though. I'm exercising more, now, and they haven't increased or decreased.

But, I've been living with this for a while, and doctors don't give a shit, and I'm not likely to figure out what it is on my own, so. I'm more concerned about you.

EDIT: Actually, looking up tachycardia to try to find out some possible causes for your symptoms, I stumbled across this gem:

Quote:

Rapidly firing triggers, ("hot spots") often located in the veins that return blood from the lungs to the heart (pulmonary veins) — that cause atrial fibrillation

That would explain a lot. Stupid doctors.

Have you had any infections recently, DT?

Also, cut out sugar and caffeine for a while.

It's also possible it's stress related, you have been under a lot of stress recently.

Oh, My Freakin' GOD!

There has been an EIGHTH attack in China! This time SEVERAL men broke into a dorm and wounded nine college kids and managed to chop off one poor kid's hand, I mean WHAT.... THE..... HELL? I just dont GET it, no matter how hard I try. And how long has this been going on? Have we just started hearing about these? Have they all hit some mystical point of mass insanity or is this the result of eatin' too many parts of animals that ya ain't supposed to be eatin'?

BTW- There's a Travel Guru by the name of Rick Steves who always says it's more important to be a citizen of the world, rather than your own bitty corner, but I'ma thinking seriously about revoking my World-Chinese Citizenship!

I've said it before, usually in respect to the Catholic church, or other religions, but it applies equally here, so I shall say it again.

The more you suppress a persons humanity, the more twisted the form in which it will finally express itself, and it *will* express itself, much like a tree root does to a sidewalk.

And the sidewalk never wins, never.

This pretty much happens everywhere. You only hear about it on your media from either your own country or countries you aren't friendly with, solely so you will have precisely the reaction you just had. Towards the other country: OMG bad! Towards your own country: OMG what's wrong with us? Let's vote someone in who will make things better! The first is propaganda, the second is a scare tactic.

Not all Chinese are violent droogs bursting into people's homes and cutting off hands. A few are, and we can speculate why. Mass insanity/hysteria is a good guess, but you have to realize, EVERYONE is effected by this in some way or another. Like Frem said, what you've really got to be worried about is how it comes out when people snap.

And the only way to solve it is to make society not INSANE. Which is an uphill battle, because people are making a crapload of profits off of this diseased system.

DT: Have you tried EATING MORE SALT AND DRINKING MORE WATER???

If your sodium is too low your blood volume goes down. Couple of things usually happen: At the beginning, your heart may race to make up in linear flow what it's missing in volume. Later, your heart will be unable to fill properly, you'll get premature ventricular contractions (PVCs) which will feel like skipped heartbeat followed by a big THUMP in your throat. Your bp will go down. Even further down the line, your heart will be continuously irregular, your bp may spike at ood times, you will be unable to sustain any sort of physical activity.

And if your sodium is too low relative to potassium... say, you're eating a low-sodium diet with lots of fruits and vegetables... or even worse, you're taking a potassium sparing diuretic or lisinopril and potassium supplements... your cardiac nerves will not be able fire properly and you will relax your heart to death.

SODIUM IS A NECESSITY NOT A POISON.
SODIUM IS A NECESSITY NOT A POISON.

I repeated that on purpose. My hubby has gotten into so much trouble repeatedly over this issue. I've learned to keep lowfat sausage, ham, and pickles around the house, just in case.

BYTE: Your "cardiac sphincter" -which as nothing to do with your heart, as its the muscle that closes off the top of your stomach- may be spasming. It can be incredibly painful. People who've had both heart attack AND cardiac sphincter spasming say they can't tell the difference, AND it causes irregular heartbeats too. Usually, it has to do with acid reflux.

DT , I've read the whole gorramn thread , and finally Signy has gotten close to the right track for you...

However , you need more than just sodium...A 'sea salt supplement' would benefit you muchly...

Here's a page with some of the benefits outlined ; I have had long experience with these sorts of things myself...It need not be expensive , in fact , it's quite cheap 'health insurance' . You will only require a quarter teaspoon total , per day...Ordinary 'sea salt' from the grocery store will do fine , as the balance of electrolytic minerals is what you are after...Drink plenty of clean , filtered , NON-CHLORINATED water , as often as you can tolerate...

'...Why Sea Salts?

Celtic Sea Salts are a prime condiment that stimulates salivation, helps to balance and replenishes all of the body's electrolytes...'

O2B- I agree. Sodium chloride is a rescue package, but the body needs so much more...

Just as an aside in terms of everyday health, most people don't get NEARLY enough magnesium in their diets. Studies show that people in hard water areas and people who drink "pot liquor" (the liquid left over from cooking green vegetables), and those who eat just a handful of nuts a day have significantly lower cardiac events than others. Now, none one of these sources has much magnesium, so if just a little magnesium can have such a profound effect on heatlh, that points to a serious deficiency. Magnesium is found in shellfish, nuts, seaweed, greens, beans, and whole grains.

Also, most people tend to be terribly deficient in potassium. It has been estimated that a single additional serving of a fruit per day would reduce the incidence of stroke by 30%. Again, suhc a profound impact points to s serious deficiency.

The problem with sodium is not that its bad, by iself. it's just that MOST people eat too much sodium in relation to everything else (except some people go too far in the other direction).

Mmm. I looked up cardiospasm, and the symptoms aren't right. I can still swallow. I don't throw up. I don't have acid problems or acid reflux. I just can't breathe, and my heart feels like it does something weird. I also get dizzy sometimes, either from the pain or the not breathing, I'm not sure.

DT says a time crunch is hitting him again, so he's going to be sparse around the boards, but I'll pass on your salt recommendation.

Try swallowing some FOOD during the painful sessions. Not water. FOOD. If the pain subsides, then you have an esophageal problem. That may also explain your previous aversion to food.

The grieving is what explains the previous aversion to food.

I'll give it a shot, though I'm usually more focused on trying to take a breath. Not breathing is distracting. But I'll try.
