Like woman, I am a mystery.

Yes, we are. We've all agreed that its always been a big American propaganda platform since the book started being published and that the issue in question is nothing new from the writers.

Why are they now backing off of the anti-tea party theme ? Kinda makes the point, as with some on this forum, that when it comes to the real world, the comic book club lives in its own little fantasy, and only know what goes on in the real world via The John Stewart Show or MSNBC.

I never really got into comic books as a kid, so the nonsense they publish today is really insignificant. It's just sad to see those w/ any level of talent ( and I'll give them that ) be so misguided / misinformed on the issue of politics.

The T.Rex they call JANE!

Sorry Wulf, but it's the truth, which says a lot about your adoration of them.

Update: Made me giggle. Nothing was pictured in the Capt. America comic in question that didn't actually EXIST...which didn't stop the Tea Partiers from blowing a gasket:

Boycott HO, Wulfie! You fit right in with these nutbags where this is concerned, in my opinion. What's funniest is that it speaks to who READS these comics, which is all that needs saying, I guess. I think the art these days is fantastic, and they have every right to call some of them "graphic novels"...but this controversy? Gimme a break!

As often is the case, it wasn't the art that was the issue. It's the message ( the comments by the characters ) that is so reprehensible.

1 sign out of 10's of 1000's of people, and the Left likes to focus in on that ONE as some sort of motto for an entire movement. However, when SEIC types show up w/ mass produced signs,

crickets.

It's a wholly phony and disingenuous stunt by Olbermann to talk about 1 photo, and make it some sort of cornerstone to justify the ATTITUDE which was portrayed , wrongly, by the comic strip.

Anyone who is upset at the excess of federal spending, the burden of debt this nation is facing, and yes,....the HIGHER TAXES which undeniable are coming, is welcome to voice their opinion.

By repeating the asinine claim that the Tea Party crowd is synonymous with 'white supremacy ' types, as K.O. and his guest did is, if anything, the real racism here.

The only real colors anyone cares about are Red, White and Blue.

Just the one sign, ever, in the entirety of the tea parties and town halls, eh? Just that ONE sign was all there ever was that was tea-baggy? Really?

Probably because I've never heard of SEIC. But do you mean the kind of signs you find at FauxNews/Glen Beck's "9/12 Project" site?

The attitude portrayed in the comic was exactly spot on. If you don't want to be accused of being a racist, stop hanging around with and defending racists.

Just so long as they don't voice said opinion when a white Republican is in office!

He seems to care about a little more than just red, white, and blue. Looks like black and white are on his list of priorities, too.

Crappy, would be amusing, if it weren't so "reprehensible". Nah, that doesn't work, it doesn't deserve it: "pathetic"; yeah, that works.

I think the message was right on, personally...these people are having their frustration and anger manipulated and, if they really knew what was going on, they'd be aghast.

One sign. Chosen by a librul. Uh-huh. The guy who did the art work was told to copy some signs; nobody's asked him if he's liberal! Given there were so many ugly ones, and that one was pretty amusing (especially if they didn't know what it meant--tho' I assume they did). He could have chosen any of the ones Mike put up and that would be truly ugly.

Let's see, as to Tea Party being synonymous with white racist: Tancredi, to enthusiastic applause, ran down people who can't spell "vote" and wants to bring back literacy test, most famous for being the way minorities were kept from voting for many a year. AT THE TEA PARTY CONVENTION. TO HUGE APPLAUSE.

The Black character spoke nothing but the truth: Check out any video/photo of Tea Party crowds, and point out one or two, or ANY, Black faces. Maybe, just maybe, then there would be an argument. As it is, there isn't one.

Nobody's scapegoating the Tea Party movement by saying it's racist; they've cheerfully shown it by themselves.

That's as far as I'll let myself be provoked, and only because I have a couple of spare moments. If I respond to your stupid taunts, I'm actually speaking to the rest of the people here. I know deliberate provocation is what you're doing every time you post, so it's really of no consequence.

What really kills me about the tea-bagging douchebag with his "niggAr" sign is that, if you look closely, you'll notice that THAT spelling of the word is at least his SECOND attempt at it.

You know, looking closely, I'm not even sure what he was trying to convey. Is that "Congress" at the top? If so, exactly what does

"Congress = slave owner taxpayer = niggar"

MEAN, anyway??? Can anyone enlighten me?

Yeah, "man of faith", riiiight...

Oh, I get what he's trying to say: "Congress = Slave Owners / People = Slaves"

But he just couldn't resist adding a little... ahem... *COLOR* to it. (And no, I *don't* mean red, white, and blue - unless of course you find slavery to be an American value!) ;)
