FDA: Flu Drugs Affecting Kids' Behavior

FDA Wants Warnings About Possible Bizarre Behavior in Kids That Get 2 Widely Used Flu Drugs

Sure makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside when our Government is forcefully injecting shit into our kids that they haven't thouroughly tested.

Yah, it's been an issue since a couple bizarre suicides overseas (Japan, I think?).

Funny thing about this...

I knew an older guy who used to work for the CDC and kinda went PN-level batshit after workin there for over a decade, and something he told me which I dismissed at the time, bugs me cause I really do NOT have the medical background to prove/disprove it, and not enough trust in anyone who does to believe their answers.

He told me that if you chase back the infection vectors for most flu outbreaks, it'll trace right back to the flu shot clinics almost every time, cause while the shot does protect the person given, it can sometimes (mutate, mestasize, supersize? some fuckin science geek word like that) and change the person immunized into a carrier of that strain who'll infect everyone NOT vacc'd against it - and the CDC looks the other way cause that encourages more folks to get them shots, at a minimum of $25 a pop, too.

He said that's like poisoning the town well so you can sell the antidote.

Now, bear in mind I considered this guy mad as a fuckin hatter - but he's also the one who told me mercury amalgam dental fillings are far less safe than advertised, flouridation was just an excuse to buy an out for certain types of pollution, thimerosal is downright toxic, and aspartame was even more so.

None of which I believed at the time, and you know me, I wasn't exactly shy about sayin it, right ?

To which he replied "You'll see..." with a smirk.

He passed on to whatever afterlife he favored about a year and a half ago, so he's not around to gloat about it..(dude, he was a seriously patronizing, obnoxious sumbitch too..)

But it does indeed make me wonder.

I stay the hell AWAY from them shot clinics, and make sure of good hygiene and diet with a bit of vitamin C (while it's still legal! jeeze!) as a little added insurance.

I did notice one thing - couple days after they passed out them shots at Fremgirls workplace last year, EVERYONE, including those who had em, got deathly ill with the exact strain they were vaccing against, horribly so, and I got it from her - it was awful and put even ME flat for days, which is life threatening given how tenous my health has ever been since the accident.

It also shut down any work at that office for almost a week, and while "nobody said nothing" they no longer offer the shots, just a voucher for some place WAY on the other side of town.

Evidence ? shit, dude, I am not a scientist, what little knowledge I have is in a really, really narrow field, although pretty deep within it, but of no application outside of it.

I do know this tho...
Keep that shit AWAY from me.

==================
Semi related, and perhaps of interest to you..

Yer prolly too young, Jack, to remember the swine-flu panic of Feb 1975, and how the "miracle vacc" killed more people than H1N1 would have even if it DID run rampant.. and care to guess who one of the prime movers and profiteers in that little mess was ?

Why good ole Donald Rumsfeld, acting as Secretary of Defense, appointed by the hand of our good buddy Ford, right after pardoning that sumbitch Nixon... and i'll note that if you bother with a close examination of Ford's cabinet, certain shit has been going on a lot longer than you realize.

And Rumsfeld was instrumental on both sides of the line (CEO of Searle) and as part of Reagans "transition team", in getting Aspartame approved for use in spite of every single decent study decrying it as severely toxic.

And then there's his tenure as chairman, board member, and major stockholder of Gilead Sciences Inc.. which makes.. what else.. Tamiflu.

Rummy's scary, dude, unlike mosta the NeoCons, he HAS a working brain, and he's got guts besides.

Like that evil imp Kissinger, his vile legacy is gonna haunt us on the periphery of Gov and Corp involvement till either excised, exorcised, or till he finally caps it and we can breathe a sigh of relief as we hammer the stake in to, you know.. MAKE SURE.

Vaccinations are sometimes living, using attenuated Viruses ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attenuated ). Though it shouldn't really be possible for them to spontaneously mutate into a harmful form on the scale you suggest.

Unless someone isn't doing their job properly.

Well, given recent events...

I'm not inclined to automatically assume competence anymore, nor am I willing to automatically discount flakery and/or ulterior motives.

Like I said, I don't really know, and it's not like the source was all that viable, but given just watching things for the past two years or so... I am not gonna discount it out of hand anymore, that's for sure.

My answer is, MMMMMM, flu shots for kids!

BTW, what did your friend say about vaccines in general?

I am living in Peru right now. I just found out that they fluoridate their f**king salt here. I had to lug my brood of 3 on a 2.5 hour bus trip to Lima to look for imported salt. Finally found some from Argentina for $3/kilo. PLUS they fluoridate their water too. Not with sodium fluoride that they use in the studies. NOOOOO.... they use that GOOD stuff they get from industrial scrubbers, you know, the stuff with the extras: cadmium, arsenic, and mercury. MMmmmmmmmm, can you say salty goodness.

But that means I can't eat potato chips, eat out, buy salted butter, or anything that is salted in this fluoride happy country. Plus most people here cook in aluminum pots, which has a big attraction for mercury-laced fluorine. It'll go straight to your brain and set up shop!

I just saw "Body Snatchers - The Invasion Continues" again for the first time since I was about 11 years old.

Not really related to this topic, but yeah, it's kinda like this topic a lot too, specially made me think so because of your post about how it is in Peru.

"CAROL... WE GOTTA GO! WE GOTTA GET OUT OF HERE! WE GOTTA GO RIGHT NOW"

"Listen to me Steve..."

"NO! YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND! WE GOTTA GO RIGHT NOW!"

"Go.... Where?"

"NO! WE GOTTA GO, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!!?"

"Steve... This is important.... Go.... Where?"

........

"That's right......

What happened in your room.... Are you listening....?

What happened in your room is not an isolated incident. It is something that is happening everywhere.... to everyone...."

(interrupting, seemingly defeated) "What are you talking about?"

"....so.......

Where you gonna go......?

Where you gonna run.....?

Where you gonna hide....?

..... Nowhere..... Because there's no one like you left........"

-------------

Man... I forgot how great this movie was. I forgot that Forrest Whittiker and R. Lee Ermey were in it. The only thing I thought I remembered is that for an hour and a half when I was probably in Junior High, I fell in love with Gabriel Anwar and felt such a sence of dread and dispair at the end of the movie for her, and for people in general. Silly how a movie effects a kid.... innit?

That was an absolutely chilling scene by the beautiful Meg Tilly (Sister of Jennifer Tilly) which until tonight I didn't even know I remembered.... verbatim. When she started asking "Where you gonna go, Where you gonna run" I knew the rest of what she said word for word as it played in my mind while she said it.

I haven't seen this flick in like 15 years.

Wonder what else I have lodged up in that cranium, hidden away from me, under the fog and cobwebs?

Note: I wanted to find a video of this scene to post here, but I can only find a scene of Gabriel almost getting turned while she fell asleep in the bathtub. I haven't seen "The Invasion" yet (has it even come out?), but I'm pretty sure I won't like it as much as this, my favorite rendition of Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

Sorry Frem....

Born in 79, and knowing that, I'd imagine you know pretty well that I have never heard of the swine flu of '75 until right now.

I think I would have liked your friend.

I think you would too, Jack, bastard dealt a mean hand of poker, too, as I recall, and was muderous behind a chessboard.

CTS, I'm paraphrasing this, but I do believe it's pretty close... I asked him if he thought it was all bad, and re-readin it, I can still hear his voice in my mind sayin it, so I figure I got it close enough.

"Well, I ain't gonna argue with success cause most of the time it seemed to work ok, but it just strikes me that making people sick in order to make them better just ain't the way to go about it, seems unnatural, you ask me, and some day these things are gonna collide with each other and kill some folk, or one of them pet bugs is gonna mutate on em or something, it's playin God, son, and I don't like it one bit, he's kind of jealous about things like that and he'll bite us on the ass with it to let us know his displeasure... you just wait and see."

He was a bit more devout than I'll ever be, and you know, remembering all that makes me sorely miss the old codger.

One way I learned a lot of history was from folks who were there - was a program a while back when I was a kid, to take trained companion animals around to old folk in nursing homes to give them some comfort and human contact, and I was one of the kids who volunteered to do it.

(Volunteered as in owing the court some community service, mind you, but I didn't mind payin my dues at the nursing home or soup kitchen, you know, something socially useful to make up for my badness...)

And so I carried around this hefty, fluffy old lazy bum of a lap-cap who was immensely lovable, and chat with folks who had whole lifetimes of experience beyond mine, who would open up like blooming flowers when they had someone to talk to, and I garnered a very great deal of recent historical knowledge from people who were there, who lived it and saw it firsthand... which was fascinating to me, given that I already had an interest in the topic.

Of course, mosta them people ain't around no more, obviously, but I would like to think they're resting a bit easier having passed on a great deal of their wisdom, knowledge and perceptions to someone who's made right good use of it.

Ok, done a little homework on this one, and man.. it's enough to give me the twitchies.

The primary incriminator here is actually the company itself, MedImmune, who uses a live/attentuated virus in a nasal mist form called Flumist.

Well, firstoff, putting a live virus, even a weakened one, that close to your brain seems a bit counterintuitive to me, honestly - but what sent me into a spiral of the shakes, was their own warning about it.

"FluMistĀ® recipients should avoid close contact with immunocompromised individuals for at least 21 days."

That sure as shit sounds like an acknowledgement that they DO become a carrier with the potential to infect others, specifically ME! as my health is precarious at the best of times, which puts me in the danger zone - and it makes Walmart effectively off-limits (I avoid the place anyway, whenever possible) to me as long as they're offering this stuff in-store, in fact, it makes anywhere they do off-limits, and makes me quite skittish about the general vicinity, to be honest.

Several medical professionals have pointed out that particular problem, although I don't exactly agree with them about the Thimerosal/Formaldehyde containing shots being safer, for me, sure, but for the poor sodder their shooting it into... not so much.

Apparently they aren't really forthcoming about what's in any particular shot, but it seems there ARE flu shots with safer ingredient lists, so if you think that protection useful, ask your doc to find you one, but be advised you'll likely pay more for it, but I would say cheap at the price, yanno ?

In the meantime, I've asked to use a different cab, the one we use for suspicious pickups in the bad part of town, cause of that inch and a half of lexan armorplate between me and the passengers, and after handling the money - have upgraded to a hospital grade waterless hand sanitizer to make sure.

Never thought I'd see the day when that old codger was right, and the primary risk vector for me was the freakin immunization process itself... grrr!

And it's seriously creepin me out that I am sittin here wondering what else he was right about, cause there's other stuff I ain't discussin here, obviously.
