Dystopian Future? Or the real secret life of Dick Cheney?

It does seem to me that the people using the service would be more likely to be Cheney-like, with the wheel chair, respirator, etc., Osama Bin Laden for example, not young and healthy, but their clones would still be young and handsome. Clone isn't a twin, it bugged me just reflecting, but I liked the film. This story seems familiar, logan's run-ish, but also maybe there was a short story or something.

I kinda liked it, but the intelligence levels bothered me, why not make 'em stupid as cows, hell, why not just scramble their brains & keep 'em alive & movin' with simple electric shocks....or just grow the necessary organs as needed? There was just something a little contrived about, something that didn't feel right, IMO.

Out of respect for hero, of which I have little, but gotta honor a special request, this thread was created for the express purpose of pointless pictures of Scarlett Johansson

Someone else write a spider for this one. My last returned me about a thousand Jessica Alba's and I had to pick and choose. Honestly, Scarlett's more my type too (and aparently Jessica Alba's type: The person who has that video, which I'm sure exists, wins some sort of gorram prize, at least gets to be captain of the sinking ship here)

She also has a thing for Natalie Portman

Oh, one thing about this girl, she needs to wear some shorter skirts:

[edit] Feel free to discuss the movie too. I thought it was interesting. Entertaining. There's not a lot of Logan's Run take offs out there. People tend to imitate flash over substance.

Isle of Dr. Moreau is good speculative sf, and also an Island, a good change for some senseless posting of Faruza Balk pics.

Hmm.. If only I had lots of wealth and power I could make lots of money making films. Each with a gratuitous girl on girl scene between two sci-fi hotties that the fanbase is, well, not exactly *thinking* about...

She's attractive to be sure, but she's no Jessica.
She did look especially nice in The Island, I'll give ya that.

Chris, I read she's dating Jessica, so it's a twofer, you don't take Scarlett, you don't get Jess.

Spicing it up with a little more Fairuza, make this a conjoined thread. Just something about those catgirls, she reminds me a little of Nastassja here

I'm just reporting what I read in the Inquirer, and why would they lie.

I don't know either. She had her as a date, proves nothing. But either way. Lots of married people have gay affair, like Larry Craig.

Growing organs wouldn't work without new technology. Stem cells might bring this, but this is social sf, so generally there's little or no tech advancement needed. Making them dormant as matrix did wouldn't work. Better if they're active. but no reason for them to speak english, etc., otoh, no reason for an evil overlord to turn into a giant snake or not. Those brains might be needed. I guess this part didn't bother me so much.

It's been done as a whole body replacement thing, there was a book, I forget the title. Killing someone for an organ seems extreme. But the age thing bothered me, and also not something that I think young healthy people would do, though they didn't know what they were signing up for.

Back to what I was not saying about do androids dream of electric sheep because it's a spoiler: halfway through the story, it takes a twist that is truly bizarre, and then it abandons it and returns to something closer to the original storyline. It's Fick, ducking with us, saying "Hey, it would be really f^&ked up if this were true." That sort of thing keeps me thinking in stories. I look for it, the possibility of it.

In Island, the moment is when they discover why they exist, and go hunting themselves. I thought, If they just pulled a total identity theft here, that would be interesting.

If you're cloning Scarlett Johansson, I don't see why you would give her clothes. In fact, screw it, lets say you're playing towards the possible escape. You would want to give them the most implausible story ever. You should throw in alien abductions, etc., into your artificial society, and then have them returned by police to your "hospital." Then you could have this happen to some of your people, and your heroes could learn not to trust police.

The only thing 'pointless' here is imagining that there are ANY pointless pictures of ScarJo...

That was EXACTLY what I was thinking. Pointless pix of Scarlett? Banish the thought!
