Huh. A Canadian made Dash-8 (Bombadier). An aeroplane in which I've accrued many air-miles. So, okay, momentarily less proud of being a Canuck.

What a way to go. I feel for all of the families involved. Life's a fickle thing, especially for the poor fellow who bought it in his sleep just for happening to live in the house that was struck.

It was 6 miles from the runway, and crashed so fast no MAYDAY on radio. Seems someone "accidentally" sabotaged the de-icing system, or "forgot" to tighten a bolt on the wing flaps. Put down the flaps for landing, and the plane instanly goes out of control...

Funny how they found the black/orange boxes instanlty, undamaged, and were able to read the data proving a flap malfunction caused the crash. Unlike 4 jets on 9.11, where no crash investigation was conducted, and aircraft debris was immediately buried in landfills like "Fresh Kills", and used to fill POTHOLES (including bodyparts)...

Reminds me of Swissair 111, that crashed in the Atlantic at night. CIA/FBI arrested MI6 agent Tomlinson, to prevent his 60 Minutes interview about MI6 plot to assassinate president of Bosnia and Princess Diana by hijacking their cars by remote control. His arrest prevented him boarding the plane.
