Don't you know who she is!? You should, now that she carries the "American Express" card. Maybe she left home without it.....or maybe she's a foul tempered bitch?

KWICKO

"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." -- William Casey, Reagan's presidential campaign manager & CIA Director (from first staff meeting in 1981)

Not one of her better moments, to be sure.

Compared to a some other recent Secretaries of State I could name, though, I didn't exactly see her trying to lie us into a case for invading another country, so I guess I have to give her a little bit of a break...

Leave it to Faux News to question her qualifications. They were pretty heavily in favor of Colin Powell when he went to the U.N. to make the case for war, weren't they? How'd that work out for us? As far as Condi's "qualifications" for the job, nothing says "I'm on it!" like making a scholar whose area of expertise is the Soviet Union your Secretary of State in a world where the nation she spent her entire career focusing on no longer exists.

So yeah, Hillary's got a ways to go before I start calling her a horrible example of a diplomat.

Be a waste, Wulf.

While I would put her somewhere that didn't involve interacting with the public, I'd hang on to her cause despite her various flaws, she *is* a capable administrator.

Hell, I'd make her postmaster general and expose her pet theories to crushing reality for a while, call it a learning experience.

But then we'd never get our mail on time...

Hell, put her in charge (since she so obviously has to be in charge) of something where she can't do any more harm.

DREAMTROVE

Wulf, I would agree, but I think she can do harm anywhere. I have a different idea: Put her in charge of something that is really important, but that we can survive failing at, but is way over her head. In short: Give her enough rope.

I mean, what we really need is to put her in a position like S. Ossetia where she can fail spectacularly, and then get fired.

BTW, did anyone catch the totally staged NK Hostage situation? The captured reporters worked for the Clintons, and then were rescued by the suave diplomacy of Bill, which usually consists of dropping his pants and saying "Suck on this, bitch."

Also disappointing was how many people bought the whole charade.

My analysis: This was not a ploy against republicans, it was internal-democratic party, against Obama. Obama was keeping Hillary out of sensitive areas because she's a bull in a China summit. Bill wanted to demonstrate that Clintons still had it, whatever it is, probably something you don't want to catch.

Hmmm...I had not thought it through to such heights - except that the whole deal had the look and feel of somebody trying to put some wind up somebody's shorts - but I do like "...bull in a China summit." Good one, DT!

And as a small quibble, I'd heard that the reps worked for Gore, who asked his buddy Bill to go do the necessary to bring his people home (whatever was actually ensuing behind the scenes). Practically speaking, I know it doesn't much matter who works for who in this situation, but it might change a few of the whys and wherefores.

The thing that struck me - and this will likely seem naive and trivial - is that this is the one genuinely honest, unvarnished response I can ever remember seeing from her on anything. She jumped rather quickly to her conclusion, which to me revealed a pretty big sore spot of hers...but having jumped to simularly revealing conclusions myself on occasion, I feel a certain (I say, certain) amount of sympathy for her.

I do feel kinda sorry for that poor reporter who got his t'aint handed to him. Bet he's real focused on word choice for a while following this.

Still...what would Rorschach do?
