DREAMTROVE

Not to have the last word, but there's nothing for me to answer at the moment since I see I'm the last post on everything.

So I'm going to take this opportunity to temporarily duck out. Not permanently, I just have a lot of work to do, and this is burning a tremendous amount of time. I'll be back but I can't say when.

I like the way things are going, we've gotten onto some really interest tracks, there's a lot less partisan bickering, and personal assaults, and some real deep insightful stuff.

When I was trying my social experiment I was trying to find some way to juggle this with my work schedule, but I have to be honest with myself, I'm financially destroying myself with this stuff.

If it could be done in a concise manner I'd keep on, but I can't keep up with these enormous posts. I'll try to hang around and check back now and again. If I can make on small suggestion, it's that threads of a nature be titled that way, like I like these informational threads about organization, communication, theoretical structures and strategies, stuff like that, and it's just a lot easier to access if it's labelled like that, for instance, nik's authoritarian thread, very aptly labelled, so that people don't have to wade through lots of spam and partisan bickering to get to what they want. Anyway, thanks, peace out.

Oh, I'm working 24/7 through the end of the year, aside from upcoming surgery, I might log on if I wind up in bed for a week later this month, but overall, I'm going to be way under the weather workwise.

If you want to contact me, send me an email. I have an email at gmail I check every day, which you're all welcome to mail me at, the AOL is currently active, but spamridden, I'll try to check it every once in a while. Just, mainly saying, to be fair, I'm not going to have a ton of time, but I appreciate any input. Oh, and if some really interesting topic comes along, send me a nod, I'll try to drop in. Otherwise, expect to see fairly little of me until early next year. Nothing personal to anyone here, I'm just way behind on work, and I've been measuring the amount of time I actually spend online, and it's pretty conclusive. I just need to drop out for a while and get some stuff done.

It had to be blue italics, two by two, hands of blue

Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

Sorry about the responses you got, Dream.

Here's mine: Will miss your long posts and thoughtful comments; hope you CAN pop in when possible. I know it's time-consuming; I try to get away, too, but every time I 'pop back in', I get stuck here enjoying myself FAR too long. Things are being neglected, what can I say?

See you when we see you. Meanwhile: lol

I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

DT I love reading your posts. I may not always agree, but you always have interesting and insightful reasons for saying what you say. I know what you mean about this being a time-suck... especially if you're like me and type a painful 25 wpm (with errors!)

SURGERY????

I'll be in touch later, just many virtual hugs from me to you for ... everything. Chin up, and cheers.

Niki, Sig

Thanks...

Not dying, just reverting to "lurker." I just got off work, started at 8am, just got done.

These battle threads and spam just using up my time. Bytemite had an idea, I might post another thread here.

As for the responses, no, I expected that.

Surgery, cancer biopsy. hopefully something early. Not gonna be fun, esp. if the insurance doesn't get straightened out.

DT, good luck with it all, and come see us when you can. We'll hold 'til you get back. You're always more than welcome here, because whether we agree or disagree, the conversation is more fulfilling when you're in on it.

I'll be thinking good thoughts for you in the meantime.

I sincerely wish you the very best with both things. I'm like the others 'n that I'll miss your unique voice (no, not a backhanded compliment - it's honest and deserved).

DREAMTROVE

thanks everyone. I'll be thinking over why we have a social structure in which one juggles surgery and work schedules... Seems off balance.

I'm abstaining from the healthcare debate atm, 1) no time, 2) personally effects me: I qualify for state benefits but not federal. If this ends up with me having to buy insurance, I'm liable to not be able to afford it, and will end up being one who has no coverage, pays a fine, etc. I also question the overall assumption that if one seeks medical treatment, one will always buy the overpriced official healthcare, and not some alternative. If things don't turn out well, chemo and radiation not for me, that's just like shooting yourself with bullets hoping to get a tumor, I'll just go into cancer research instead.

So I have a lot of doubts, but a personal vested interest in the outcome, so it's hard to be objective. I like the system we have *now* and I'm worried that change won't be good. (1/2 jokingly I could propose a simpler solution: Poor? Move to NY. ;) Here, actually people say "poor? Move to canada.) <-- there's a problem with this plan: winter.

Anyway, I'll check in now and again, end of the month I'll have a report which will be "we have to run some more tests" (sorry, i know doctors too well, this is a 100% predictable result.) Anyway, I'll check in when I can. Anyway, must get back to work.

Oh, if there's anything really interesting, please post it to metathread. It's an easy way to check. (Me and my efficiency schemes, always hoping one will catch on)
