Hello,

I read this on CNN today. I found it of interest in the wake of recent swine flu discussions.

Apparently, a slim majority of Americans have chosen not to get the vaccine, and many respondents complained of concerns regarding possible side effects.

This will doubtless be of interest to Frem and Pirate if they haven't included this in another post elsewhere already.

Yeah, the breach of trust I was worried about - the H1N1 Vacc actually contains no adjuvants, and a thimerosal-free dose can be gotten on request, but there's of course the question of effectiveness.

Still between the adjuvants and thimerosal, and the horrible fallout from the Gardasil fiasco, there's a LOT of people who know at least one friend or relative who has had an adverse reaction to a vaccination, regardless of how hard folks tried to keep a lid on it - and when you add in the factors of the 1976 "swine flu" disaster a'la Rumsfeld, recent vaccine-induced outbreaks, Baxters chicanery and negligence, and then Gardasil ?
*shakes head*

The whole vaccine concept has taken a tremendous beating credibility-wise, which was something I was concerned about from the start, since there IS some value to the method if ones risk assessment calls for prophylactic defense - it's not the vaccines themselves so much as the additives, adjuvants and preservatives which were doing the damage - but to ADMIT that means opening the doors to uncountable lawsuits since it was KNOWN to them, especially Merck, that said adjuvants were potentially harmful.

And so, just like neurotoxic aspartame, these things will hopefully disappear as if they never existed, leaving all too many people with no clue of why their nervous system is permanently damaged or their kid is dead...

But there's a high price to that much damage, no matter how hard those involved tried to suppress it, word gets out, especially when one of your own suffers the tremendous cost, and the publics faith in the medical establishment has fractured on the evidence of their misconduct, refusal to acknowledge or investigate problems, or even helping in the coverups - and so anything the AMA, FDA, CDC or what have you says, is gonna get taken for bullshit by a lot of folk who have been convinced from their own experiences and those of people they know, that such are just a mouthpiece for Big Pharma, who does NOT have the publics best interest at heart.

I think a bit of skepticism is a good thing, but it wouldn't take too much more of this shit to cause a more severe, or even permanent breach of trust between the public and the healthcare establishment, which CAN bite us on the ass, unfortunately - but then, how can you ever put faith in the words of folks who have lied to you ?

A housecleaning of the regulatory agencies is well overdue, and MUST be done publicly with much fanfare, or this'll only get worse.

Unfortunately, that's working against the hardest form of "advertising" there is, word of mouth between people who know each other - ask around, you'll see what I mean.
