Once again, Wulfie, words fail you. I don't think those words mean what I think you think they mean.

al·lit·er·ate (-lt-rt)
v. al·lit·er·at·ed, al·lit·er·at·ing, al·lit·er·ates
v.intr.
1. To use alliteration in speech or writing.
2. To have or contain alliteration.
v.tr.
To form or arrange with alliteration.

Quote:

From UrbanDictionary.com

1. Chala
It is another word for yes. It it used in place of yes.
Eric:"Are you going to come with me."
Sam:"Chala, i will be coming with you."

2. Chala
Meaning weed or pot in Argentina, as described by certain reggae groups such as Los Pericos and others.
"give me please the chala let me go away"

3. chala
a positive expression in Bolivia meaning cool, awesome, or nice.

Que chala tu casa!
Your house is really cool!

That movie was really chala.

From Wiki:

Quote:

Chala
The Chala or "Coast" is one of the eight natural regions in Peru. It is formed by all the western lands that arise from sea level up to the height of 500 meters.
In this region, the flora includes vegetation that grows near the rivers, like the carob tree, the palo verde, salty grama grass, manglar or mangrove tree, the carrizo or giant reed and the Caña brava (ditch reed); and plants that grow in the hills, such as the Amancay or Peruvian daffodil (Hymenocallis amancaes), the wild tomato, the Mito or Peruvian papaya (Vasconcellea candicans), and the divi-divi (Caesalpinia spinosa).

Also from Wiki:

Quote:

Chala (чала, /tʃala/) is a Tajik term meaning "neither this nor that," referring to Bukharan Jews who were forcibly converted to Islam ...

You were saying?

Are you one of those who allegedly CAN read, but is too lazy to do so?

Oh, I just remembered - Wulfie's wife doesn't let him have access to the computer on the weekends. He can only reply when he can sneak some "me time" while he's at "work". ;)

Okay, THAT explains a lot of where you're coming from. "Marriage is a WAR"?! REALLY? You're doing it wrong, then. Marriage is a PARTNERSHIP. Are you generally at war with those whom you love? Do you spend a lot of time at war with your best friends? Do you spend your life at war with the people closest to you in your life?

It's amazing how much you let out when you slip up, drop the charade and the hiding behind your stupid vidclips, and speak a few words of what YOU actually believe.

Oh, and everything else isn't a war, either. That's like saying everything is like mass murder, or everything is like carpet-bombing. NOTHING is like those things. Marriage isn't war, it isn't LIKE a war, and neither is everything else, except for fucking WAR. WAR is like war. Everything fucking else is NOT like war, especially marriage.

Christ, what a fucking moron you are.

Sounds like the kind of joke only Republicans know and find funny. Probably why I haven't heard it. Is it like McCain's gorilla-rape joke? That seemed to be a real knee-slapper amongst you folks on the right.

Should I bump this thread with some insipid video clips, so you can maybe relate to it?

I am...for over thirty years. And while there have been skirmishes and battles, it's far from a war and never has even resembled one.

Mike is right; the fact that you see it so solidly as a war is telling. You appear to me to have a very narrow view of the world and every subject within it.

However, Mike, seems to me you're beating a dead horse...you'll never get through, and you've plastered this thread while nobody else is bothering. Silly man. It's obvious that to Wulf EVERYTHING is a war; why would marriage or love be anything else?

I rarely watch your videos, Wulf; they are, as others have stated, almost entirely movie clips of "heroes" and violence. Again I say you live in a world of violence and fake heroes. If you have something valid to say, I'd be happy to read it.

I saw The Untouchables. Wonderful movie, in my opinion, but it has nothing to do with "marriage as war" or much of anything else in the real world. I recognize you enjoy posting such things, but I'm more interested in what real people have to say.

Oh, and by the way, a marriage which isn't a war isn't "lucky", it's a matter of work, love and respect.

Oh, hell - You think I don't know that?

Um except, asking a woman to do the dishes, or to cook a meal, doesn't deserve violence on the scale described.

Especially if the chick doesn't have a job.

Interestingly Wulf, I think the joke that you heard was:

"The man came home from a long hard day's work earning money for his family, and ordered his wife..."

And I agree, *that* joke isn't particularly funny. But interestingly, the real joke says nothing about jobs (except for the Philippines wife) - why do you assume that the girlfriend isn't the one working and providing for the household as well as, or instead of the man?

If you're uncomfortable with women in such a role that would explain why you don't find the joke funny...

Heads should roll

In fact, he really did miss something:

"He told her that on top of her one fulltime and two par-time jobs,..."

A hockey player (Canadian) friend sent me this joke a while back. I hafta say, after a brief chuckle over the unexpected ending, I did feel some discomfort over it. Put it away, didn't forward it on. Mostly over the idea that Canadian women would stand up for themselves while other women would not. I'm not happy with that stereotype.

As for the male-female issue: jokes like this only work when they go against the stereotype. It's a sad reality that man-against-woman violence is a helluva bigger problem than the other way around. There's a reason for that. Maybe it wouldn't be such a problem if bullying assholes knew that pushing around a woman might get them nothing but a world of hurt.

Probably didn't hear it because you didn't grow up in the South in the 50's. The same folk who'd tell that joke were the "Solid South" Democrats who gave most of the Southern states to Stevenson in '52 and '56 and Kennedy in '60.

Personally, I think both husband and wife should be armed at all times. THAT would certainly cut down on the disagreements! Right, Wulfie?

FREMDFIRMA

Oh HELL no, have you ever SEEN me and any of my ex's go rounds and rounds over the 9mm versus .45ACP argument, or revolver versus auto, or just about any other gun related topic...

Just one more thing to argue about, and heaven help you when her 9mm jams at the range and you have the awful nerve to look over there and smirk while you continue to blaze away with your .357 wheelgun, cause you are SO sleepin on the couch THAT night.

Couples will always, ALWAYS find some itty bitty ridiculous thing to argue over, it's the nature of how people are, and in the long run meaningless cause most of em do it just to have stuff to talk about in each others company - should you disbelieve that try throwing your two cents in some time and watch how fast they BOTH light into you, heh heh heh.

It's not like a war, more like a friendly wrestling match, and just as fake as most of em, but strangely satisfyin all the same.
