Funny how none of the "Support Our Troops" folks seem to have those feelings anymore. All of you hypocrites who were calling for one surge after another, right up until Election Day '08, then you wanted nothing to do with either war, and you sure as fuck don't want to hear about the tens of thousands of our troops coming home with traumatic brain injuries.

Hey, we were the ones against the wars BEFORE you started them. You seem to conveniently forget that. This is YOUR mess; YOU broke it, YOU own it. Not that any of you have the balls to actually go there and fight - no, you'll ALWAYS leave that for your betters.

Is the war "okay" with you? It's not okay with me. I want us out yesterday. No, check that - I want us out before we ever went in. We accomplished nothing but getting an awful lot of people killed, wasting our troops and our treasure, and we've gained absolutely nothing for it.

China house rules is a pretty dumb policy, and leads to some absurd claims to ownership and powers that come with it, as well as misguided responsibilities. I would put it up with "ten reasons never to vote for a democrat." right now, it's giving huge powers to BP and helping to not fix that problem. I have an alternative rule I'd like to propose, I call it the my house rules: you broke it, now get the fuck out of here and let me fix it.

As for Afghanistan, people, it's a simple rule: just oppose bad policy. Don't just grasp for a weak defense or try to shift the blame. Try this one on for size:

Obama expanded the war in Afghanistan. Man, that was a bad idea.

Next I can go with: why the hell did he do that? Well, let me hazard a guess. There's only one reason to do it, which is we need to control western Pakistan and western Afghanistan if we want to attack Iran.

Next I'll finish up with anyone notice that the editor of the right wing neocon weekly standard and globalist power monger Bill Kristol seems to love Obama and hate Michael Steele? Ain't that odd? Just a hair? Maybe it like the neocons don't really like the tea party because they don't think that they will swallow. And maybe they think the deems will, and thats why we have this new war.

When I look for peace Iook to the guys who are selling it, and I have to admit that currently the dennis kuccinich crowd is making more headway into the blue peacenik crowd, but I think ron Paul will round up the red votes. Still, this exit strategy isn't going to materialize.

Also, look for the draw down to be more about increasing the bombings, robots, afghan militias, black water comebackwater with good ol Stan and hill and a whole new kind of war when we don't really reduce the troop levels all that much anyway...

DT: I think you're on to something with the Kucinich crowd and the Ron Paul (NOT Rand Paul, people!) crowd. Generally speaking, if I'm not sure how to vote on something, I can look to Russ Feingold as a pretty handy barometer. Voted against the Iraq War? Check. Against the Patriot Act? Yup. Twice. Against this new financial reform bill BECAUSE IT DOESN'T DO ANYWHERE NEAR ENOUGH? Yup.

Now, the REAL trick is, how do we get these folks together? On their own, the Ron Paul crowd is just a bunch of angry folks who will be dismissed as tea-baggers. On their own, the Kucinich crowd is just a bunch of angry hippies who will be dismissed as tree-huggers. Where can they meet to get together and find out that they're really just folk, and are broadly against the same things, even if for different reasons?

How does someone on the left criticize Obama without getting the "Told ya so" and "Miss me yet?" crap from the right? No, I'm not happy with Obama. And no, I absolutely don't think Bush did a better job at anything (well, okay - he IS better at being an evil idiotic asshole), and I positively don't think McCain/Palin would have done anything better. I want *OBAMA* to do better. I expected more from him than I did from them; many of us did. That's why he got the more votes then they did.

And now it's time for Obama to put up, or shut up. Yeah, you inherited shit. You knew that going in, and you STILL ran for the goddam job. It's yours now. Fix it. Quit fucking around, and FIX. IT. If you can't, then move over. If you're worried about your legacy, you don't have one. If you're worried about being a one-termer, you probably will be. Make it count. If you're worth keeping around, people will figure that out on their own. Give them something to vote for. Hell, give them something to "hope" for. Again.

And if you can't, you're of no further use to me.

Strangely, you and I seem to believe in a lot fo the same stuff, yet I call it conservative and you call it liberal. I guess were over where the wheel turns.

I'll give you one thing Bush did better than Obama though: Democracy.

Bush on Hamas: that's how democracy is, sometimes the people don't vote for the guys you like. Hamas won the election and now we have to open a dialogue with them, because they're the govt of Palestine.

Obama on Hamas: they're a dangerous terrorist organization who seized control of the gaza strip

on Iran: bush recognized ahmadinejad as the elected leader of his people. obama endorse the green revolution candidate, and did not admit to the results which *Israel* said were a landslide in Ahmadinejad's favor.

On puppet states: Bush backed Alawi for US puppet oeader of Iraq. The people voted for Iranian backed Maliki govt. bush hardly flinched.

In Afghanistan: karzai was polling around 25% and so Obama contrived to keep most of the country out of the election, by labeling them unsafe disputed areas, sending troops, and ultimately supporting Karzai's victory claim even when he was solidly behind in exit polls.

That, and Africa. For some reason, Bush had a tendency to back the right guys in african issues. He even supported Al Qaeda in Darfur, against the Janjaweed, without once mentioning, for obvious reasons, that he was doing so.

So, yeah, it would seem that Bush was wrong 100% of the time, but I don't think that was the case. He had the globalists and the corporatists making decisions for him, and they tend to be wrong a pretty strong percent of the time, because, well, they're evil and stuff, but sometimes, when their interests weren't involved, he did the right thing,,, and some times, even when they were, he did, such as with democracy.

It's been a long time since we've had a president who wasn't just blatantly nefarious at some level. From this perspective, Reagan even looks good to people on the left, I would imagine, and I grant easily that Reagan was not the god that the media would like him to be.
