Well... I wasn't seriously suggesting that she has DID. She clearly knows what she's doing. I don't want to bring up information it is not my business to share (even though I believe I know because it was publicly posted at one point). I'll just say that if all River6213's many sockpuppets disappeared one day, I would take a minute to enjoy the peace and quiet, but then I would worry.

If it is all River6213, she is not a teenaged boy, but she is very intelligent and knows how to play many characters. She's very good at alienating people, which may be annoying to the rest of us when she floods an otherwise lovely site with garbage, but I think in the end she does herself the most harm.

I empathize and try to ignore her most of the time, though I will tear her puppets up when she makes it as damned easy as she sometimes does. Not whozit. That personna I've never had a problem ignoring.

Wulf I'm pretty sure is a separate person. Rappy, I don't know. He's such a caricature of himself that anything's possible. He's too bizarre to be real, but I can't guess who's inventing him, or why.

Curious: Why would you worry if someone as apparently ugly as all I've heard about her disappeared? It's not like she could do anyone any real harm...?

I agree re: Whozit, Wulf and Crappy, and I kinda knew you weren't suggesting RivKaneZit was actually DID, I just wanted to explain the difference.

Um... because people who act ugly generally do it because they're unhappy. That doesn't excuse the things they do, but once you've been a witness to that kind of deep unhappiness, things change.

I only come out and say this because I've talked about my own deep places on occasion, so I think she'll know I'm not judging her. (I think she is aware of these things, even if she'll never talk about it.)

Ahhh, gotcha. Kind of you. Yes, I am concerned about those people too, it seems such a waste and they could be enjoying...well, so much more of life.

Hate only hurts the person who hates on the internet, where nobody can do anyone else any actual harm unless the person lets them. But it can and is a sad place for people who do nothing but spew their hatred...they miss so much, and it doesn't really make them happy, it just makes them more stuck in their misery.

Been in a really deep place myself, too--my online friends and I call it the "Chasm"--but it doesn't turn to hate, so I have difficulty empathizing. I understand, tho'. And I think, as Rose mentioned, I resent people I respect being trashed...me, it doesn't bother, but I can get upset by good people being attacked.

You know Kirk, that'd be a little more credible if you actually believed it yourself, or if you were sayin it to folk who hadn't sat here and watched as our influence on a situation was initiated, carried out, and effected results - I think your ire is more that you seem to be actually offended by a group with no official standing or oversight involved in such meddling cause it raises the question of what their purposes are, much the same way Blackwater/Xe offends the hell out of me.

But denial isn't the way to go on that, considering that we use that very perception to more or less hide in plain sight, to be ignored and dismissed is very useful when dealing with a person or group who could present a real issue if they took us seriously before we had them in the bag, you know.

But believe as you will, just makes it all the easier - only reason I don't point and laugh in your direction so much is that you have actual reasons, real arguments, and so often feel you cannot properly articulate them that you just sit on them and say nothing, allowing wackjobs like Rappy or Wulfie to represent, and by doing so completely demean, your own cause - I know damn well you grit your teeth every time they hand out a strawman so perfect the other side couldn't have built it better, and yet you rarely enter the discussion cause you don't want to get pigeonholed in the same mental category with them and wind up getting flamed for their stupidity and inansity without regard to the fact that you might not share either one.

Tell me Kirk, were you not listening when I broke down how shit works on a local level for the boy, where to put the pebbles to jam it all up, or the grease to get it to run smoothly, did it not occur to you how and why I might know these things ?

Did it never occur to you to maybe USE some of that information to influence your own city or township in a positive way ?

And more importantly, did it never occur to you who you'd rather have on your side, to put the brakes on an administration that rather than repealing the abuses and usurpations of the former one, has codified them into official policy ?

It's easy to mock and dismiss, it costs you nothing, but consider just how easily you could find a handful of people in your own local area and build something similar, start taking action, and all you would have to do is learn instead to mock and dismiss that little voice in your head that keeps telling you how you've already lost, how powerless one person is, how inevitable the impending carnage seems, because you know, it's not, and it never was, nor will it be.

Learn from Archimedes - if you get a big enough lever and put it in the right fucking place, it doesn't matter how big they are, how small you are.

And leverage, that's easy to get, especially when no one sees you as any kind of threat.
