From Christina Romano, CNN
October 18, 2010 4:31 p.m. EDT

New York (CNN) -- Four men were found guilty Monday of planning to bomb a synagogue and Jewish center in New York City and plotting to shoot military planes with missiles.
James Cromitie, David Williams, Onta Williams and Laguerre Payen -- all from Newburgh, New York -- were charged with conspiring to blow up a synagogue and Jewish community center in the Riverdale section of Bronx, New York. They were also accused of planning to fire surface-to-air-missiles at the New York Air National Guard Base at Stewart Airport in Newburgh, New York.....

NY Synagogue Bomb Plotters Convicted on 30 of 32 Counts

By Bruce Golding

(New York Post) - A jury found four Muslim converts guilty Monday on 30 of 32 counts in the May 2009 plot to bomb two Riverdale, N.Y., synagogues and shoot down military aircraft.

Prosecutors had accused James Cromitie of hatching the scheme with a paid FBI informant he met at a mosque in Newburgh, N.Y. They also said Cromitie recruited his three co-defendants -- David Williams, Onta Williams and Laguerre Payen -- to fire heat-seeking missiles at cargo planes at Stewart Air National Guard Base in Newburgh.

I agree with you on this Rap, that's some pretty watered-down reporting. I don't mind the media not labelling people jihadists (or whatever) when they're still waiting for some of the facts to come in - but here it strikes me as a bizarre omission.

Foolish need to identify enemies ?

Surely, you can't be serious

Listen up, Sissy. These weren't just some poor foreign brown folks, who live in a 3rd world country, far far away. They CONVERTED to the religion of peace.

Which religion was that ? Buddhism ? Oh, wait...they are kinda peaceful, after all. Let's see.. what was it then... oh, I know, from the story - ISLAM!

But the POINT of my little thread here is to show you that - yes, there IS a bias in the media, and that bias is to withhold information, to craft the news, so as to slant the story so that the public doesn't fully understand what is going on here.

It wouldn't be very PC, you see.

And this is what TRULY grates on me. Who didn't " connect the dots " before 9/11 ? Oh, easy...that was Bush. Just Bush, only Bush, no one else BUT Bush.

So, when we have terrorist warnings in Europe ( again ) and the Eiffel Tower has been evacuated - twice now - there's the Major Malfunction Muslim at Ft Hood, and these clowns trying to buy big boy , military grade munitions to kill as many civilians as they can.... those look like pretty darn big dots to me.

It's only hysteria and hatred when there's a Dem in the White House, but otherwise, it's " connecting the dots" .

I really do tire at it all. The double standard, then intentional act of playing dumb and excuse making, and the PC mind set that so many have, simply because it rocks their sensibilities to think bad thoughts about others.

When those others are overtly trying to kill you, after shouting about how they want to kill you.....it's o.k. to say bad things about them. Really. it's fine.

DREAMTROVE

Rap

I concur. This has been a widespread problem for a while. While I don't like the anti-islamic focus of media and political attention, omitting facts from news is not the answer. Allow people to use their own minds to draw their own conclusions.

There has been a similar attempt to disguise the fact that illegal immigrants are committing crimes. While I openly support a position of open immigration, it does logically follow that if you were wanted for a felony in Mexico, you might choose to flee to America, and the crime rate among incoming refugees might be higher.

I don't really have an answer to that side issue, because I haven't given the matter much thought. Off the top of my head, probably working more closely with the communities would help reduce the spill over to our side...

But on the main issue, complete factual reporting is the only answer. Omitting facts not only leads people to the wrong conclusions, it also helps obscure problems that may need attention. In this case, muslim/jewish tension in the US.

How useless would this sound?:

Also conspicuously absent from ALL the coverage listed was the fact that this was a TERRORISM TRIAL, and it was held in NEW YORK CITY, mere blocks from Ground Zero, and no terror attacks happened as a result.

That's something the right assured us could never happen, and the sole reason they said we could NEVER try terrorists in any criminal court, especially one in NEW YORK CITY, because that would surely hand victory to the terrorists.

And yet, here we are, one trial after another, and no attacks. How'd that happen? How can it be that Obama has kept us safe from attack? This far into his first term, Bush had already managed to lose nearly 3000 Americans in a single day, and more to an Anthrax attack that his administration never did solve.

Chief suspect in US anthrax attacks, Bruce Ivins, found dead

A top government scientist who helped to investigate America's deadly 2001 anthrax attacks has killed himself just as he was about to be charged in the case, in an extraordinary and unexpected twist to the biggest criminal investigation in US history.

Bruce Ivins, 62, who had worked for 18 years at the US Government's biodefence research laboratory in Fort Detrick, Maryland, died from an overdose of painkillers after being told that the Justice Department was about to charge him over the attacks, which brought fresh terror to the US days after the September 11 atrocity.

The death of Dr Ivins may put an end to one of the most baffling criminal investigations of modern times: the posting of weapons-grade anthrax spores in September and October 2001 that killed five people, sickened 17, closed Capitol Hill and crippled the US Postal Service.

Convinced at the time that it was another al-Qaeda plot, President Bush has since conceded that it was one of the lowest points of his White House tenure.

Dr Ivins, a microbiologist, helped the FBI to analyse materials recovered from one of the anthrax-tainted envelopes that was sent to the office of a senator in Washington.

He came under suspicion last year after the FBI put two new investigators on the case.

They reinterviewed dozens of scientists at the Fort Detrick laboratory after becoming convinced that it had been the source of the anthrax used in the attacks.

Until his death Dr Ivins had not been named publicly as a suspect in the seven-year investigation. His lawyers were informed that he was about to be charged and that prosecutors would be seeking the death penalty.

His suicide came after a government payment of $5.82 million (£3 million) last month to Steven Hatfill, another scientist at the Fort Detrick plant, whose life was left in ruins after being named a “person of interest” in 2002 by John Ashcroft, then the Attorney-General.

Mr Hatfill has always protested his innocence.

It was unclear what motive Dr Ivins would have had for the attacks. His brother, Tom, described him as “a man with no guts who liked people to bow down to him”. He said that they had not spoken for 20 years. Mr Ivins said: “He was a weak character but he liked to have people worship him.”

******************************

FBI Closes Anthrax Case, Says Bruce Ivins Was Sole Culprit Behind Letter Attacks

Nearly a year-and-a-half after implicating U.S. Army researcher Bruce Ivins in the anthrax letter attacks of 2001, the United States government has formally closed the case. In a press release issued this afternoon, the Department of Justice, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the U.S. Postal Service said that a 92-page summary of the investigation had been provided this morning to members of Congress and families of the victims who were killed in the attack.

That summary has been released to the public, along with a clutch of new documents pertaining to the case. The FBI has already released hundreds of pages of documents that agency officials say contain incontrovertible evidence that Ivins acted alone in mailing out the letters, which killed five people and sickened 17 others. The newly released evidence includes a hand sketch drawn by Ivins in 2002 in which he attempted to show that the anthrax in the letters did not match the anthrax material that he worked with but that it matched the material used by a former colleague of his at the United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases in Frederick, Maryland. Officials say that this was an effort by Ivins to mislead investigators, as proved by scientific analysis in later years that definitively linked the evidence to a flask of anthrax under Ivins’s control.

The formal closure of the case may come as a surprise to a National Academies panel that is conducting a review of the scientific evidence relating to the case. The review is not expected to be complete until late 2010.

( Guess Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann skimmed over these news items.... )

See what countries were OCCUPIED (Palestine lands spring to mind here), and you'll see so called "terrorism" problems.

The extremes of moderate Islam

EVEN for supposedly reasonable Muslims, accommodation is a one-way street.

PERCHED high in the verdant mountains of central Java recently, the rural silence was broken five times a day by the Muslim call to prayer. The chanting wafted up from loudspeakers in the local villages as Indonesian Muslims observed longer than usual prayers during Ramadan. I asked a cab driver if he was fasting until sunset during this Islamic month of reflection. Rules are made to be broken, he said with a smile. But not according to the government and police in Indonesia, a country hailed as the world's largest, most moderate Muslim nation.

Local newspapers report an American man being held on suspicion of blasphemy for pulling the plug on a loudspeaker at a local mosque. According to police, Luke Gregory Lloyd pulled out the loudspeaker's cable in Kuta village in central Lombok when he was woken by the Koranic reading.

So how is moderate Islam doing in Indonesia? Not so well if you're that American man facing five years in prison. Perhaps it's all relative. In Saudi Arabia, he may have faced more violent punishment for his cultural insensitivity. That said, the promise of moderate Islam is beginning to look decidedly unconvincing.

Certainly, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has made plenty of promises. In an address at Harvard last year, he described his country as a model for how Islam, modernity and democracy can go hand in hand. He said tolerance and respect for religious freedom forms part of Indonesia's "trans-generational DNA".

Back in Indonesia, the President is quiet about the fact that moderate Islam is not so respectful of religious freedom if you belong to the Ahmadiyah sect. As yet another daily call to prayer began, I read about the ban on this religious sect for propagating its beliefs, including the tenet that Mohammed was not the final prophet. Indonesia's Religious Affairs Minister Suryadharma Ali announced the Ahmadiyah congregation "must be disbanded immediately" for violating a 2008 decree prohibiting the group from spreading its teachings. If this "is considered as religious freedom, then I call it an excessive freedom", Ali said.

Moderate Islam is not so moderate if you are a Christian either. In August, 300 hardline Islamic protesters confronted Christians worshipping in an open field owned by the Christians. The Christians want to build a church. A leader of the hardline Islamic Defenders Front told reporters that the culture of the people will not allow a church. Earlier this year, thousands of Muslim extremists set fire to a Christian community centre in West Java when they suspected the local Christians planned to build a small chapel. According to the Setara Institute for Democracy and Peace, there have been more than 28 attacks on churches since January, a substantial increase since last year.

And how is moderate Islam doing when it comes to freedom of speech? While President Yudhoyono boasts about his country's "increasingly incisive" free press, one the markers of moderate Islam's commitment to democracy, it's too bad if you're the editor of Playboy Indonesia, a magazine consciously remodelled for the local market with no nudity. After being tried and acquitted for public indecency in 2007, Erwin Arnada was found guilty of public indecency last month by a new Supreme Court ruling. Arnada was arrested last week and has commenced a two-year prison sentence. The Indonesian constitution, which guarantees freedom of speech and freedom of the press, is no match for hardline Islamic groups baying for Arnada's blood. Is that moderation?

Move to New York and the fraught debate over the proposed Ground Zero mosque. Muslims demand the mosque be built. And their left-liberal supporters decry opponents of the mosque as bigots. They demonise and scold mainstream Americans who think otherwise. Even New Yorkers believe Muslims should show some sensitivity to the atrocities committed in the name of Islam on 9/11. A poll in The New York Times found that while 67 per cent agree the right to freedom of religion allows the building of the mosque, they believe the developers should find a different site. An editorial by the moralising New York Times would have none of that. Building the mosque would be "a gesture to Muslim-Americans", it lectured. What about a gesture from moderate Muslims?

In recent years the West has fallen over itself to accommodate Muslim sensitivities. In Britain, the BBC boss says Islam should be treated differently from other religions. American publishers pull books that might offend Muslim sensibilities. Television stations censor images of Mohammed. Why does the accommodation always run one way?

Moderate Muslims would surely understand tolerance is a two-way street. They might agree the building of a mosque at Ground Zero is a political, rather than a religious, point. Instead, there is just silence. Always silence.

That void is filled with voices that profess to be moderate but a closer look suggests they may not be; voices such Feisal Abdul Rauf, the imam who wants to build the Ground Zero mosque. When he spoke at the Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre in Adelaide in 2005, organisers lauded him as a man who has "dedicated his life to building bridges between Muslims and the West". In his "interfaith" address, Rauf described America as worse than al-Qa'ida. A moderate would acknowledge the atrocities Muslims have committed against Muslims and non-Muslims in the name of Islam. Rauf condemned the London bombings of 2005 as against Islamic law. A moderate would condemn terrorism and acknowledge the problem: Islam is used to fuel the violence. Asked about suicide bombers, the imam said there are always people willing to kill themselves, those jilted by lovers, those failing to get academic tenure and so on. A moderate Muslim would recognise that, once again, Islam is used to incite suicide bombers who kill innocent people.

In a BBC interview last month to coincide with the publication of his memoirs, former British prime minister Tony Blair described radical Islam as the greatest threat facing the world. He's correct. But a Western leader pointing the finger at radical Islam is the easy part. The harder task is for leaders and the rest of us: to request help in the form of far more moderation from those who describe themselves as moderate Muslims. Unless that happens, the clash of civilisations between Islam and the West will end very badly indeed.

First- thank you for going to the trouble of finding & posting that. It's a reminder that the Middle East doesn't have all the religious nuts.
Second- I will concede that at this time in history, Islam seems to be the religion of choice for many, many nuts.

But remember, the Crusades...

I wasn't around for the Crusades, but there was nuttery and bloodshed on all sides, not just the Christians.

The Inquisitions, on the other hand, were worse, imo. Those were less a response to invading forces and more about being flat out evil , wicked bastards to your fellow man, in the name of Jesus.

Why is it that some folks, when shown the face of extreme Islam today, have an automatic, knee jerk reaction to hold up the evils of Christianity, from 100's of years ago, or to try to equate a handful of unrelated violent acts by nutjob Christians and play they " SEE ? THEY DO IT TOO ! " game ??

Nothing you do will excuse or explain away the evil done by the Islamozealots, so what's the point of trying to ignore it ?

Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

Okay, let’s look at this. First off, their being Muslim, praying, etc., etc., is mentioned in many, many reports—it is in the first sentence of the Fox report, and there’s no mention of “Muslim” in the CNN report, that’s unquestionable. Nowhere else can I find anything about Muslim “converts”...everywhere else it appears they were Muslims all along. The Fox report doesn’t mention that the informant was Muslim, too. And the more I read of different articles, the more I began to wonder....

So I garnered bits and pieces from all kinds of different sources—during the trial and about today’s verdict. There’s more at each link, but I omitted stuff that was duplicative and/or already posted. I’ll let each of you make up your own minds what you think about it, or go to the links, read everything on each one and make up your minds. Me, I’m not so sure of either side. For one thing, calling them “four Muslim converts” only appears on Fox sources and people who copied the Fox material to their websites. The Fox source doesn’t carry any of the additional information either; there it is a cut-and-dried case of “terrorist plot by Muslim jihadists stopped by FBI”. I’m not at all sure I buy that, from the material I found elsewhere that is omitted by the Fox story. Let’s see what you think:
Quote:

The two discussed possible targets including bridges, community centers and cafes. Upon returning home to Newburgh, surveillance at Hussein's rented house recorded a conversation where Cromitie said, "I think it's time we make jihad right here in America, something like that has to be done."

In another taped conversation, Cromitie said he hated "those Jewish bastards" and suggested hitting an unnamed Brooklyn synagogue. He then went on to say, "I've got to come up with something...I've got to come up with a plan, I just want to make one big noise."

Quote:

Three Muslim men accused of trying to blow up two New York City synagogues and shoot down military planes were denied bail on Friday by a U.S. judge.

But U.S. District Judge Colleen McMahon said prosecutors had exaggerated the case against the men who were arrested in an FBI sting operation and had no connections to international terrorist organizations.

http://www.reuters.com/article/idUKTRE65O66I20100625
Quote:

The informant helped make hundreds of hours of surveillance tapes that were played at the trial. The defense argued the government entrapped their clients.

The trial had come perilously close to a mistrial. The judge last week let the jury continue deliberations with just 11 members after one said she could not reach a fair verdict after mistakenly seeing a report of transcribed FBI wiretaps.

It featured a video demonstration of a car being blown to bits by the same type of bombs the Muslim converts allegedly thought they were deploying against the synagogues last year.

The 22-second video dramatically demonstrated the Mazda 626 being reduced to smithereens in a huge orange fireball that sent shards of metal hurtling through the air.

Cromitie was portrayed as someone who “hated Jews and Jewish people," a government informant testified.

He also "hated the American soldiers and the American government," Shahed Hussain told jurors.

"He was full of hateful against those subjects," the Pakistani immigrant said.

”defense lawyers accused the FBI informant of distorting the truth to win favor with the feds and avoid being deported. Defense lawyers also argued the informant had to continue to throw money at Cromitie and the men he recruited...and that nothing would have been possible without the FBI informant providing bombs and missiles. But the government countered that these men practiced with what they thought were real anti-aircraft missiles...”

Quote:

The trial featured 13 days of testimony by undercover informant Shahed Hussain, who met Cromitie at a mosque north of New York City. Prosecutors also relied on hundreds of hours of video and audiotape of the men discussing the scheme at the informant's home, handling fake weapons — even praying together.

The film director, lawyers said, was Hussain — a 53-year-old Pakistani immigrant they sought to portray as a master manipulator who entrapped a crew of aimless nobodies. They also argued he would do anything to win the government's favor and escape serious punishment in a separate fraud case.

The FBI assigned Hussain in 2008 to infiltrate a mosque in Newburgh, about an hour north of New York. After meeting Cromitie, he told him he was a representative of a Pakistani terror organization that was eager to finance a holy war on U.S. soil.

Prosecutors alleged that in meetings with Hussain, the 44-year-old Cromitie hatched the scheme to blow up the synagogues in the Bronx with remote-controlled bombs. They say he also recruited the other men — Onta Williams, 34, David Williams, 29, and Payen, 28 — to help him shoot down cargo planes at the Air National Guard base in Newburgh with heat-seeking missiles.

In one of several videos played at trial, the men could be seen practicing with a shoulder missile launcher and praying together in a bugged warehouse in Connecticut two weeks before the planned attack. At the end of the tape, Cromitie, two of his cohorts and the informant bow their heads in prayer.

In other tapes, Cromitie was heard ranting against Jews and expressing his desire to retaliate against U.S. military aggression in the Middle East.

"I'm ready to do this damn thing," he said. "Anything for the cause."

Certainly the fact they are Muslim shouldn’t have been excluded (but it wasn’t, except by CNN)—that’s bad reporting. It was mentioned in many other reports by MSM, however, so no “conspiracy” appears to exist to hide their religion. DT, if omitting facts from news is not the answer, what about all the facts omitted by the Fox report which I found in many others? What about the first sentence saying “Muslim converts”, when I can find no other mention of them being “converts”—omitting facts is bad, but isn’t crafting the news” not real good either?

No, Raptor, it was a rant, and it shows your obsession with this issue. See above: only CNN didn’t call them “Muslims”...nobody else called them “converted”....knock off with the Eiffel Tower crap, it was a hoax, remember? (along with several others, we might mention)....

Oh, and this crap:
Quote:

The double standard, then intentional act of playing dumb and excuse making, and the PC mind set that so many have, simply because it rocks their sensibilities to think bad thoughts about others.
It’s only slightly less offensive than the words you were using previously, but I know where it’s going, so I’ll challenge it nonetheless... WHO is intentionally playing dumb? WHO is making excuses? WHAT PC mindset do you mean? WHO do you think has their sensibilities rocked to think bad thoughts about others?

All Raptors rantings aside, what about the rest? Me, I have my doubts. Some things don’t add up, and I seem to remember some other “foiled terrorist plots” in the past few years... Whaddya think?

Here’s what gets me. If the situation were different (like if it weren’t Muslims), there’s a good chance more than a few of us here would be going “hmmmmmm...” and wanting to know more, and to question what’s been reported. Even Raptor might not completely trust the FBI, given recent history. But the only thing I see is “Damn, how dare they leave out the fact these guys were Muslims, and Muslim CONERTS, at that!”

Me, I don’t swallow what the FBI says with a chaser. How did that inflammatory material get in the juror’s possession? (And thank you, m’am, for bringing it to the court’s attention.) What’s this about deportation, and a “previous fraud case”? What “money” did the informant pay out to these guys? Were any of them railing against America or showing any signs they should be approached? Did any of them have any previous actions, connections, etc., that might have indicated they’d become active terrorists?

I’d like to know more, me. I’d have had some questions to ask, were I a juror on that trial. Far more interesting to me than whether they're identified as Muslims or not is the bigger story...

Okay, Raptor, back to you...rail against me and spout your buzz words, I’m not talking to you, I’m asking whatever thinking people there are here who are capable of questioning and wanting to know facts, not be colored by “Muslim converts”—can you find anything to back up that “converts”, please? I’d really like to have it—WITH links, please...you identified the first quote as coming from CNN, but neglected to mention that the second quote was a DIRECT LIFT off Fox. You wanna counter, please provide links, I did to everything I found. Thank you.

It's very easy, Niki. You're WAY over thinking this, and I suspect I know why.

You can't handle the truth.

(New York Post) - A jury found four Muslim converts guilty Monday on 30 of 32 counts in the May 2009 plot to bomb two Riverdale, N.Y., synagogues and shoot down military aircraft.

Sweetie, it says, right there in the first sentence, from the NY Post, ( and I even gave the writer's name, date and time the story was posted ) that the 4 men were converts. You want MORE info on that ? By all means, knock yourself out and play internet reporter. I gave you all you're gonna get.

Answered. You see, obviously to you there's no such thing as a few "nutjob terrorist Muslims", but it's easy to see "unrelated violent acts by nutjob Christians". A lot of the rest of us see a few "nutjob violent Christians" just as easily as a few "nutjob terrorist Muslims" and realize that there are nutjobs everywhere, in every religion, all over the world, throughout history. I would say "get it?", but it's obvious by now you can't. Obsession is a sad thing to see.

By the way, claiming an anthrax-attack case is "closed" because someone apparently suicided, doesn't make it "solved".

Like the man said..."don't get stuck on stupid". You're over looking the simple facts because you don't WANT to see them. Some things are as straight forward and simple as they seem. When ever you can't deal, you start to look for alternative answers, when there are none.

I never claimed it was "solved". The FBI considered the case 'closed', and I merely offered that fact to the conversation. I do find it 'convenient' that the guy suicided himself, right as he was about to be pinned for the deaths, but you and PN can post ad nauseum over that finer point. Supposedly there's plenty of paper work released. Along w/ the Warren Commission report, and the 9/11 Commission findings, you can add that to your reading list.

Oh, that's rich. The Fox-owned New York Post says they are "four Muslim Converts". No other report says they are. But because it's there, in black and white after all, that means there's no other possiblity but that they ARE four Muslim converts.

Wow.

Find any other reliable source that explains how they're converts, not born and brought up in the Muslim faith or something...which of course you won't. I haven't been able to. So thus far it is Fox's quote via the Post and nobody's questioning it.

The article is in the New York Post and carried all over Fox. Since 1993, the New York Post has been owned by media mogul Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation. It is the only place I can find which states they are “Muslim converts”, and the only place the fact they are Muslim appears in the very first sentence.

You guys are going after CNN? Here’s the WHOLE STORY as reported by Fox/Post:
Quote:

A jury found four Muslim converts guilty Monday on 30 of 32 counts in the May 2009 plot to bomb two Riverdale, N.Y., synagogues and shoot down military aircraft.

Dozens of plastic human dummies arrayed around the vehicle were also leveled by the blast.

Cromitie was portrayed as someone who “hated Jews and Jewish people," a government informant testified.

He also "hated the American soldiers and the American government," Shahed Hussain told jurors.

"He was full of hateful against those subjects," the Pakistani immigrant said.

Two of the charges, on which all four men were convicted, carry mandatory life sentences.

No mention of money from the informant, no mention of deportation or a previous fraud case involving the informant. What were you saying about omission of facts?

According to the CNN article:
Quote:

Four men were found guilty Monday of planning to bomb a synagogue and Jewish center in New York and plotting to shoot military planes with missiles.

James Cromitie, David Williams, Onta Williams and Laguerre Payen -- all from Newburgh, New York -- were charged with conspiring to blow up a synagogue and Jewish community center in the Riverdale section of Bronx, New York. They were also accused of planning to fire surface-to-air-missiles at the New York Air National Guard Base at Stewart Airport in Newburgh, New York.

The men, who could now face life in prison, were arrested last year after planting what they thought were live explosives. They had unknowingly been working with an FBI informant, who supplied them with what they were told was military-grade explosive material and a Stinger surface-to-air guided missile.

"Homegrown terrorism is a serious threat, and today's convictions affirm our commitment to do everything we can to protect against it," Preet Bharara, the U.S. attorney in Manhattan, said in a statement soon after the verdict.

"The defendants in this case agreed to plant bombs and use missiles they thought were very real weapons of terrorism. We are safer today as a result of these convictions," he added.

The jury spent some six weeks listening to testimony and undercover tapes made by the FBI informant who posed as a member of a Pakistani terror group. Jurors delivered their verdict after deliberating for eight days. They requested an escort out of the courthouse.

The four men were found guilty on seven of the eights counts against them, including conspiracy and attempts to use and acquire weapons of mass destruction and anti-aircraft missiles. Cromitie and Williams were also found guilty of attempting to kill officers and employees of the United States.

Each of the seven charges the men were found guilty on carry a maximum term of life in prison.

Members of the defense team had argued their clients were victims of entrapment.

Last week, the judge presiding over the case denied the defense's request for a mistrial. Defense attorneys argued that jurors could be swayed by evidence that was not permitted in the trial, but had mistakenly been put in one of the juror's packet of evidence.

That juror was dismissed -- and the case continued.

After the verdict, Mark Gombiner, an attorney for Onta Williams, said the defense would likely file a motion. It was not clear whether the planned motion would be an appeal.

Soon after the verdict was read, Alicia McWilliams, David Williams' aunt, was escorted out of the courtroom. She had begun screaming expletives and repeatedly yelling, "There's no justice!" The judge asked that she be removed.

Which is the fuller account of the danger, the threat, what they planned to do, what bad guys they are? Which inserts that they’re “Muslim converts” and “met at a Mosque”? Which of the facts presented in each article is more relevant, and which might increase the fear of Americans that all terrorists are Muslim, even American ones? It’s not about omission, it’s about...what did you call it? “Crafting the news?”

Yeah, it’s crafted alright...the MSM crafts it to help keep us scared, Fox crafts it to focus on scaring us about MUSLIMS...

I'm not overthinking it; I'm THINKING. And I'm still interested if anyone else finds anything fishy about the whole damned story.

Yeah, I got woozy too, reading that one.

But thanx for admitting MOST Muslims would agree it's evil.

Let's see: We, here in America, are surrounded by a bunch of hungry wolves. Okay, I resent that on behalf of wolves, which I adore and to which my two whackadoodle huskies are closely related, to begin with. But how are we "surrounded", please?

So because we're surrounded by these beasts, memries that a raccoon "snarled" at "us" (???) (that's what the Inquisition, witchhunts, Crusades, all add up to??) a long time ago is irrelevant?

Uhhh, that don't make sense. Unlike you, Niki, others admitting that there ARE wolves isn't " giving into fear ".

Nowhere else are they reported as converts (can YOU find any facts to back that up, Raptor?).

What does that tell you?

My friend SAW the first plane hit the Towers IN PERSON.
He says the government reaction was in error.

If HE can see that clearly, why can't YOU????

WTH does THAT have to do w/ anything ?

My friend, who worked for CNN , was across the river in NJ at the time, and sat there on the shore for hours as the towers burned and fell....

This has ZERO to do w/ the Gov't or W, in the least. It's about radical Islam...which, you again, refuse to acknowledge.

I'm not a spokesperson for Fox News, nor a defender of it, except in a manner of free speech. It's not really news, but then again, what is?

He SAW peeps hit the ground. He RAN for his life.
Unlike YOU, he was DIRECTLY affected.
And yet, he does NOT seem to demonstrate the severe ISLAMOPHOBIA you do again & again.

THAT'S WTH it has to do with it.

Please, be brave in the face of your inner demons personified.

I have zero 'Islamophobia', and I cannot speak for why he doesn't feel more towards those that caused those bodies to hit the ground.

All I can say is, if he can't figure it out, even after all that, then it's no surprise that you can't either.

( Guess Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann skimmed over these news items.... )

Where does it say that he was a converted Muslim?

I mean, he HAD TO BE, right? Only Muslims are terrorists, right?

By the way, look at the date on when they closed the case (not "solved", but "closed", mind you): 2010. Like I said, the Bush Admin never did solve that one.

Thanks for proving me right. ;)
