Obama Ignores Spending Bill's "Czar" Ban

Quote:

czar.
1. an emperor or king. 2. ( often initial capital letter ) the former emperor of russia. 3. an autocratic ruler or leader. Origin: 1545–55; < Russian tsar', Old Russian tsĭsarĭ emperor, king (akin to OCS tsěsarĭ ) < Gothic kaisar emperor (< Greek or L); Greek kaîsar < Latin Caesar caesar.
-Random House Dictionary

President Obama "is planning to ignore language in the 2011 spending package that would ban several top White House advisory posts," signing a statement in which he says has no obligation to comply, Politico reports.

"The anti-czar language in the spending bill marked a victory for Republicans and conservative pundits, who accused the administration of giving unelected bureaucrats too much power within the White House. But the language didn't appear to have any immediate impact on Obama's staff. Energy and climate adviser Carol Browner resigned earlier this year; health czar Nancy-Ann DeParle was promoted to deputy White House chief of staff; Obama's urban affairs adviser, Adolfo Carrión, left the White House to become a regional director for the Department of Housing and Urban Development; and the White House said auto and manufacturing adviser Ron Bloom wouldn't be affected by the language."

Wow! What a cretinous dictator.

That's what a ship is, you know - it's not just a keel and a hull and a deck and sails, that's what a ship needs.

Freedom is Important because People are Important

Hello,

I remember Bush was quite fond of signing his "I interpret this law thusly" statements.

I remember the Democrats cried bloody murder about it.

I remember some people saying, "He is but widening a portal through which others may someday walk."

Ayep, and here we are, aren't we ?

But then, as any good one does, my strategy involves taking advantage of unavoidable events my efforts can by no means prevent - which means eventually this kind of power is going to land in the hands of someone with seriously nefarious intentions for the powers that be and their enablers, the kind of person who'd pitch The One Ring back into Mt Doom out of malice towards the folk who'd want it rather than as a benevolent act.

You know, someone like me.

The bigger and more complex they make the machine, the easier it becomes to jam up.

Okay, this one is totally assinine. How long have "czars" been in existence? It's just propaganda to complain that Obama continues the habit, especially as these aren't "Communist" czars in any way and never have been. It's stupid, and it's a perfect example of the propaganda spewed by the currently-out-of-power side. They act like Obama CREATED the title, which nobody in the government did anyway.

It's an INFORMAL title:
Quote:

In the United States, the informal political term "czar" or "tsar" is employed in media and popular usage to refer to high-level officials who oversee a particular policy. There have never been any U.S. government offices with the title "czar", but various governmental officials have sometimes been referred to by the nickname "czar" rather than their actual title.

The earliest known use of the term for a U.S. government official was in the administration of Franklin Roosevelt (1933–1945), during which eleven unique positions (or twelve if one were to count "Economic Czar" and "Economic Czar of World War II as separate) were so described. The term was revived, mostly by the press, to describe officials in the Nixon and Ford administrations and continues today.

Wiki

No actual "czar" exists in America, or ever has. The big fluffer-nutter about it with regard to this administration is just more bullshit swallowed by the ignorant...including apparently Pirate News.
