Apparently not.

Oh well, it probably wasn't worth reading about anyway.

So far all I've got out of this was that the Democratic White House released a photo and that it was a lie...somehow.

Here's what I think, a photographer took the picture, possibly while the video was being set up, and the press secretery decided that it was the best one that he/she took and so sent it to the press.

"I really am ruggedly handsome, aren't I?"

He's the Commander OF Chief, or so he claims.

He should at least act like he's kinda sorta in charge, do ya think ? Seriously, look at the guy... he looks sullen and dejected... not attentive or engaged, even a little.

But who knows. Maybe he was tired from all the phony pics they took, he was taking a break. Essentially this is his 'blinking' pic, where he simply wasn't " on ", as he was in the others.

What do you mean "that how these things work"? Were you trying to say "That IS how these things work"?

ROFLOLOLOLOL!

Classic!

So you're unwilling to take Clinton at her word, but you were - and ARE, still - completely willing to take Bushie at his word when he claimed he gave up golf "for the troops". And then you were conclusively shown to be a fool, and Bushie was conclusively shown - again - to be a liar. Yet you still believe him, no matter what he says, and no matter what facts get in your way.

Quote:

This photo was taken, released with the approved blessing of the WH press office. Why then did they have to quickly backtrack? You know exactly why, but your blind partisanship & false pride simply won't allow it.

What was the "backtrack"? Please, if you could, transcribe for us all exactly what the caption was on the photo released by the White House.

By the way, want to retract that idiotic lie you made earlier, when you claimed that Obama has played TEN TIMES more rounds of golf than Bush?

At least be honest with yourself; we know you can't be honest with anyone else.

America loves a winner!

As the AP reported:

Quote:

WASHINGTON — From halfway around the world, President Barack Obama and his national security team monitored the strike on Osama bin Laden's compound in real time, watching and listening to the firefight that killed the terrorist leader.

Gathered in the White House Situation Room, members of the group held their breath and barely spoke as they waited to see whether a carefully crafted yet extremely risky plan would succeed, said White House counterterrorism adviser John Brennan. Obama had been playing golf but returned to the White House for the suspenseful watch Sunday.

And what are they saying this photo REALLY shows ?

I have no idea what any of us were looking at at that particular millisecond when the picture was taken. I'm somewhat sheepishly concerned that it was my preventing one of my early spring allergic coughs, *so it may have no great meaning whatsoever. - Hillary Clinton

* OR , it may be exactly what Hillary WANTED folks to think it was, and that this entire photo spread was sold to the public for that which it wasn't.

On Tuesday, the White House released provocative images that purported to show, “US President Barack Obama watching live footage of the operation that killed Osama bin Laden.”

In one particularly dramatic photo, Hillary Clinton is seen with her hand anxiously clasped over her mouth as if reacting to a crucial event. Other photos show Obama and his staff with stern faces as they discuss the operation while it unfolds.

The photos were described by many as having “historical significance,” forming a “captivating” record of Obama’s greatest success and being the “defining moment” of his Presidency.

We were also told by the media that, “The leader of the free world saw the terror chief shot in the left eye.”

“US president Barack Obama along with his high-level team, watched live coverage in the White House, as the commandos gunned down the world’s most wanted terrorist Osama Bin Laden Via a video camera fixed to the helmet of a US Navy Seal,” it was also reported.

US chief counter-terrorism advisor John Brennan claimed that the head cameras that fed audio and video back to the White House, allowed Obama and his staff to track the operation “on an ongoing basis”.

But the claims have been proven to be completely fraudulent.

Alongside the crumbling official narrative of the operation to kill Bin Laden, it has emerged that Obama, Clinton and their staff saw virtually nothing whatsoever of the mission that allegedly led to the assassination of Bin Laden, because according to CIA director Leon Panetta, there was a 25 minute blackout of the live feed which was cut off before the US Navy SEALS even entered the building.

“A photograph released by the White House appeared to show the President and his aides in the situation room watching the action as it unfolded. In fact they had little knowledge of what was happening in the compound,” reports the London Telegraph.

In an interview with PBS, Mr Panetta said: “Once those teams went into the compound I can tell you that there was a time period of almost 20 or 25 minutes where we really didn’t know just exactly what was going on. And there were some very tense moments as we were waiting for information.

The notion that Obama “saw the terror chief shot in the left eye” live on video is a total fabrication. At best, the photos were cynically misrepresented by the White House and the mainstream media, at worst, they were completely staged to add a contrived dramatic spin to the unfolding wall-to-wall press coverage of the Bin Laden fable, which is becoming more convoluted with each passing day.

The key image that clearly indicates the photos were staged is the shot of Hillary Clinton with her hand over her mouth. Clinton looks shocked as if she has witnessed something disturbing, obviously implying that she is watching a live shootout or someone being assassinated, when in fact she saw nothing of the kind because the feed was cut before the SEALS entered the compound. The White House was careful to not describe this image as representing the moments during which the SEALS stormed the building, but the implication was clear, and the establishment media did the work for them, reporting that the picture depicted Obama and Clinton, “watching intently as the raid takes place,” another total falsehood.

Former top spymaster Dr. Steve R. Pieczenik, a man who worked under five different US Presidents, has been proven correct in his assertion that the photos were “Nonsense….total make-up, make believe,” and proof that Americans were being held captive to a “theater of the absurd”.

The entire account of the Bin Laden raid is fast turning into a Jerry Bruckheimer-style fictional made for TV movie, just as the Jessica Lynch “rescue” was scripted for public consumption, solely to elicit contrived patriotism and pro-war sentiment amongst the American people.

The WH released a picture, and the media wrote the caption. How is that a "lie" by the WH?

Did the WH press scy, Obama, or other other official SAY anything that was proven to be wrong afterwards? And if they did, how do you know the speaker was not simply mistaken? Maybe he or she truly believed what they said at the moment, not entilrey aware of the provenance of the picture?

So, where’s your outrage over Bush’s staged photos, which actually GOT IN THE WAY of relief efforts? Everyone knows politicians stage photos, but obviously it only bothers you when it’s Obama; then it’s a “lie”... Omigawd, what a surprise! And don’t give us that “you can’t go back to Bush” shit, since you just went back to the ’08 ELECTION to dredge up some crap.

Do you have any idea just how asinine you would look to someone coming in cold, reading you spending ALL that time making such a huge issue out of a photograph??? Anyone in their right mind reading all you’ve written...if they didn’t know you, that is...would walk away shaking their head thinking “Now what was THAT all about??”

Let’s see, did anyone say they bought into the staged photo? As in, none of us believe the White House stages photos? Strange, I can’t seem to find anyone having done that. He must be reading some other forum. By the way, I noticed at one point PN said something about they should have turned the computer monitors on or something. I laughed at the time, at the idea that a group of people sitting around watching something should all have their laptops on, or else it was fake. You guys really reach, Raptor, it’s sad to watch. It kinda makes one wonder if you have anything in your life besides an obsessive hatred of Obama...oh, and Dems/liberals/progressives of any kind. What a way to live!

It’s vastly important to you, obviously. I don’t get it. It’s a PUBLICITY photo...but of course Obama’s the only one who ever did that, right? See above...and there’s plenty more!

Still waiting for Rappy to explain what it is he thinks the deception is.

He won't, of course, because he can't. He makes these kinds of allegations often, and has never once provided any credible evidence, or made his case in any way, shape, or form.

But, like Charlie Sheen, he keeps running around yelling, "Duh - WINNING!" while the rest of the world points and laughs at his delusional idiocy.

Hey, I'll kick YOUR ass with "facts" and "logic" (not intended as factual descriptions)

Dubya Bush is the bastard son of E Howard Hunt; rejected by his mom (who was a cast-iron bitch) and abused by his father HW Bush. How do I know this? Because it's OBVIOUS. There are NO PHOTOS of Bush and Hunt together, or Hunt and Babs Bush, and no photos of a bruised and battered little boy. That clearly indicates a chapter all parties wish to be closed, and strict control over the media. Bush has had a sucking fetish ever since his momma, Babs, rejected him because he was a reminder of her indiscretion. But no titty was ever big enough, or satisfying enough, which is why he started drinking. That, and the horrible abuse he suffered at the hands of his father. And I will continue saying this because it's true, smacking you with MY facts and logic.

Excellent. Funny, too. He just can’t stand it, can he?

I wonder how much time Raptor and those like him spend “disproving” ANY positive about the left; obviously they just can’t tolerate that they might do anything good, and can’t rest until they find some way to diss or disprove it. Kinda sad when you think about it...

I’m actually starting to feel kind sorry for Raptor; lately he seems to be the only rightie out there spouting nonsense. Time to pull in some sickpuppies, Raptor, to back you up. It’s nice, mind you, not to have the usual asinine crap being spouted all over the place, but when I read him being stuck with “No, YOU are” all the time, I almost want to commiserate with him. Almost...

By the way, on the subject of staged photos, I got a giggle out of this:
Quote:

This week the White House announced that it will stop the decades-old practice of reenacting speeches for the benefit of photographers. This comes as a surprise, mainly because most of us didn't realize the photos we see of presidential addresses are about as authentic as The Hills.

After his televised address on the death of Osama bin Laden, President Obama walked out again and re-read his speech for the benefit of five photojournalists, as he always does after a major speech. The Associated Press reports:
Quote:

The practice of re-enactments has a long history. Washington veterans say President Harry Truman would deliver speeches over radio and then repeat them for newsreel cameras. Doug Mills, a photographer for The New York Times who was on duty May 1, said he has seen every president from Ronald Reagan to Obama take time after a speech so still photographers could get their shots.

Oh, my, what a bummer. Of course, they didn’t say they wouldn’t stage photo ops OTHER places than the Prez’s speeches, so I guess we’ll keep on getting stuff like

Quote:

As specific orders began arriving to the firefighters in Atlanta, a team of 50 Monday morning quickly was ushered onto a flight headed for Louisiana. The crew's first assignment: to stand beside President Bush as he tours devastated areas. [Salt Lake Tribune]
or

The White House has released previously unseen photographs of President Bush and his security team, taken as the events of September 11th were unfolding. Researchers have highlighted Bush commenting on the fact that he had seen American Airlines Flight 11 crash into the north tower of the WTC live, when no live footage of this event was broadcast anywhere in the world.

Bush first made these remarks on December 4th 2001 at a town hall speech given to an audience at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando Florida.:
Quote:

Bush stated "I was in Florida. And my Chief of Staff, Andy Card -- actually, I was in a classroom talking about a reading program that works. I was sitting outside the classroom waiting to go in, and I saw an airplane hit the tower -- the TV was obviously on.

The president then reiterated these sentiments in a January 5th 2002 town hall forum at the Ontario Convention Center in Ontario California. Bush stated "Anyway, I was sitting there, and my Chief of Staff -- well, first of all, when we walked into the classroom, I had seen this plane fly into the first building. There was a TV set on. And you know, I thought it was pilot error and I was amazed that anybody could make such a terrible mistake. And something was wrong with the plane, or -- anyway, I'm sitting there, listening to the briefing, and Andy Card came and said, "America is under attack."

Some had raised suspicions as to why there would be TV set switched on in the corridor of an elementary school. A visit from the President would certainly mandate that any other distractions would be minimized.

By now, of course, we all know where he ACTUALLY was when the towers were hit:

and how he reacted:

We know he LIED about where he was when he heard about 9/11. But of course that’s nowhere NEAR as bad as a staged photo showing Obama supposedly watching the OBL raid. At least we can pretty much figure Obama WAS watching the raid, whether the photo was staged for release or not.

You make me laugh, Raptor, then I feel sad for you.

The photo of Hillary reacting to 'something'on screen, is a fake. She inexplicably is trying to claim that she ' could be' sneezing or coughing... she really can't say. That's lawyer speak for " I was busted, and don't want to tell you the truth....because I'm Hillary, and I don't have to "

Deception is walking back the story YOU controlled, from the very beginning, which is exactly what this White House has done w/ this operation.

And you trolls pretend you don't see it happening, either.

Unbelievable.

They did? Quote that.

How do you know? Maybe that was the point just before they life feed cut out. Maybe just after. What is your evidence?

other than YOUR say-so (something we all have come to seriously distrust) how do you know? Do you know someone who was in that room at the time?

Pure made-up bullshit on your part. Maybe she really doesn't remember. I have seen photos of prominent groups... justices etc.- one is picking his nose, the other is squinting, a third is looking away. Does anyone REALLY remember what they were doing, moment-by-moment, in an important situation? If someone took YOUR picture at some random part of any day, would YOU remember?

You're just stuffing motivations into a person you don't even know. Writing a story with absolutely no evidence other than..... what again? Oh yeah. Your say so. Your fervent but highly partisan, subjective belief that the Obama admin MUST be lying because... because... well, just because! Because you feel that is must be so!

Your connection to the real world is pretty thin. As an explainer of what's REALLY going on, you leave much to be desired. So I'm sure you'll understand if I dismiss everything you say unless you come up with some pretty compelling evidence besides your opinion.

ETA- I bet you'll pull your "empty bag" trick again. No evidence, besides your entirely worthless opinion. But hey. Feel free to repeat yourself. Gose on top of more gose is still gose.

Well, it's true.

Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

Well, this was two days ago, and Raptor hasn't returned, I see. I guess you're giving up on your claims of "fake"? Either that, or you need to give us cites to where the White House said they were "watching a live feed" in the first place. Then you have to present some kind of proof that they WEREN'T watching the raid--live feed or otherwise. Then you have to prove that Clinton actually remembered what she was doing at the time and deliberately lied about it.

I have a feeling you never will, and might not ever come back to this thread--or maybe only come back to snark and call everyone names.

As for me, I'm quite happy to believe it was a staged photo, or not, it matters little. It's PR any way you look at it. But I don't think Clinton's hand over her face was an intentional act, and I'll tell you why. I don't see Clinton WANTING to look like the "frail female" in the group who's so aghast at what she's seeing; I think that would piss her off something fierce, from what we know of her.

It's all a moot point, given nobody here can provide proof either way, but I'm curious to see whether Raptor has any desire to back up his assertions OR even admit they might be his opinion, his interpretation.

There's nothing left to say, Niki. They WH stepped back their claims, admitted the feeds weren't live ( Panetta said there was a 25 minute delay in the helmet cam feeds ) so there's no point in discussing it any more. Much like the birth certificate, the 'truth' is out there, and the story is dead.

Goodbye, kind world (George Monbiot) - In common with all those generations which have contemplated catastrophe, we appear to be incapable of understanding what confronts us.

I find THIS interesting:

"he looks sullen and dejected... not attentive or engaged"

He's leaning forward (interest), eyes up (attention), eyebrows lowered (deadly intent), tight mouthed (tense). It's the exact opposite of sullen (head down, face and eyes averted), dejected (sad mouth and eyes, listless) inattentive and disengaged (face slack, eyes, and body turned away).

How Rap got what he got out of the picture is truly astounding. How he could so completely see what isn't there - and miss what is - is boggling. It's like he's in a different universe.

He also claims that Obama's shoulder's are 'slouched'. But then, maybe he doesn't know what slouching is. This is slouching:

What Obama is doing is leaning forward on his elbows.

Obama's shoulders are slouched, he's sullen, and in the corner... he's basically an after thought in this photo. How anyone can't see that, clearly is looking at the Emperor's new clothes.

Well, that and the idea that if the pix were all staged, as Rappy insists that they were, then wouldn't they have wanted to make damned sure that the Prez *DIDN'T* look sullen and dejected?

Rappy insists that there was no "live feed" being watched, and has offered zero sources for that. Now he insists that there was a 25-minute delay, and again can't source his claims. Or won't.

More claims, and zero sources. The more things change...

By the way, Rappy, THIS is what a "staged photo op" looks like:

This was Rappy's "messiah", his "The One", holding a carrier a few miles out to sea off the U.S. coast so he could make a phony photo-op out of it, instead of letting the brave servicemen and -women dock and coma ashore after having been away from their families for so long.

So, in a staged photo op - as you've so very often claimed it was - set up to make the President look good, you're now claiming he wasn't even considered anything more than an "afterthought"?

That's some whackadoodle logic you're got going there, miss.

Nothing " phony " about the President landing on the USS Abe Lincoln, which had finished its mission, successfully, in the Iraq war.

I was wondering the same thing.

I was also wondering how AURaptor can inspire so much hateful dialogue with so few words. Then it hit me, it takes more than one person to make a dialogue. It's so obvious now!

Completely phony and unnecessary. Less than 30 miles from shore, and he could have easily helicoptered there, but insisted on the jet for the photo op it would provide. Nobody but you even tries to defend such idiocy.

Quote:

From Wiki:

Opponents criticized Bush's historic jet landing on the carrier as an overly theatrical and expensive stunt. For instance, they pointed to the fact that the carrier was well within range of Bush's helicopter, and that a jet landing was not needed.[4] Originally the White House had stated that the carrier was too far off the California coast for a helicopter landing and a jet would be needed to reach it. On the day of the speech, the Lincoln was only 30 miles (48 km) from shore but the administration still decided to go ahead with the jet landing. White House spokesman Ari Fleischer admitted that Bush "could have helicoptered, but the plan was already in place. Plus, he wanted to see a landing the way aviators see a landing."[5]

By the way, he didn't make a speech about the Abe Lincoln completing *ITS* mission - he said that "major combat operations in Iraq are over", and that "in the Battle of Iraq, the United States and our allies have prevailed."

"... it takes more than one person to make a dialogue."

It may have escaped you that I never did 'dialogue' with Rap. Sure I commented ABOUT him and his buffoonery, but 'dialogue' with him? Nope. Check it out if you don't believe me. As far as I'm concerned, there is literally no value to be had in any back and forth with Rap. When it comes to discussion, he's a complete waste of time and energy. As far as I'm concerned, the only thing of value he offers me is an opportunity to ridicule him.

ETA: Didn't you ever wonder what brings rap back? He needs this. He feels that if he can provoke someone into an argument, then he matters. And he's won b/c he MADE THEM argue WITH HIM. Yeah, it's pathetic, but he comes here for it.
