It started as an ecard, became a post on a Obama campaign blog, and eventually became fodder for conservative websites.

It wasn't the average get-out-the-vote banner.

"Vote like your lady parts depend on it," the meme read.

The post appears to have been posted first to the blogging site Tumblr by someone known on the site as Vennstiel on September 25.

When posting it last Tuesday, that user added, "Because they kinda do."

Someone with the Obama campaign "reblogged" it on their official campaign Tumblr this week, adding the commentary, "Really, though," plus a link to the women's health page on Obama's campaign website.

The post has since been removed from the Obama campaign Tumblr, but the page was first saved by web sites that "cache" or save the impressions from web sites over time. Google's caching service provided a snapshot of the page showing it online just before 4 p.m. ET on Monday afternoon.

A spokesman with the Obama campaign did not return a request from CNN for comment on the post. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2012/10/02/how-ladyparts-went-vir

The card was never properly approved, so it got taken down. Too bad. Conservatives, you can guess, are absolutely furious about this, this, outrage. In the throes of such indignation, their complaints are less than typically cogent. Lifenews:
Quote:

The Obama campaign is, once again, reducing women to the sum of their reproductive organs — assuming that women voters have nothing else they are interested in other than abortion.

The Obama 2012 campaign’s official home on Tumblr approved a new graphic that assumes women are wombs.

The text should have been different. “We will find a way to vote on November 6th,” or something like that. “We don’t have arms, but we do have opinions.” Townhall:
Quote:

It’s official, liberals think women are idiots. Between the birth control talk, thinking women only care about free stuff, cheap abortion, sex and now this, Team Obama has judged women not as humans with brains capable of making decisions for themselves, but as voters with “lady” parts.
Team Obama has judged women . . as voters with ‘lady’ parts. Right as rain. Couldn’t be more accurate. That’s how the whole mess started. National Review:
Quote:

You know whose lady parts are actually in danger? The unborn girls who President Obama and the Democrats refuse to protect by banning sex-selective abortions.
There’s a wildfire sure to wipe women out. You might note how that’s working to your advantage, Buckleys. You care again why? Instapundit:
Quote:

Is liberalism rooted in sexual insecurity, and the female equivalent of castration anxiety? Because it kind of looks that way. . . .
Glenn could use all sorts of help here with “castration.” Any volunteers? Nillabyte:
Quote:

Several one-issue women, the women who think they have a constitutional right to birth control and abortion (also known as sex without consequences), are intellectually blind.
The “intellectually blind” who figure they have a “right to birth control and abortion” may have gotten their hands on a Braille Constitution. Or a list of federal statutes. Let there be light. PJ Tatler:
Quote:

So to the Obama supporter, the election is not about the economy or America’s standing in the world. It’s about lady parts.

I wasn’t aware that Bill Clinton was on the ballot again.

Zing! Ladies love a clod with a sense of humor. Jawa Report:
Quote:

Much like in Islam, the Democratic party views women as sexual organs. We are now just a hair away from being asked to cover up . .

This is the real ‘war on women.’

Nothing like an election year to make anything and everything a partisan whip and bring out the lowest common denominators with "sumpin' ta say". Not sure how I feel about the visual itself, except that if it were about anything but politics I'd find it amusing. Don't think it belonged on the Obama website AT ALL, but then it was put up by "someone", wasn't approved and was taken down, which should be message enough...if it weren't an election year.

BOY I'll be glad when this is all over...then we can return (hopefully) to SOMEWHAT less political idiocy. Or not.

Sorry about the "No Title". I find I can't even correct it in v.1, which I USED to be able to do. Bah...

Don't know what all the uproar is about... conservatives are funny.

It's not personal. It's just war.

The uproar is all that matters. What it's about is relatively meaningless. They have to have something to justify their constant state of indignation, or else they couldn't play victim all the time.

Note to anyone - Please pity the poor, poor wittle Rappyboy. He's feeling put upon lately, what with all those facts disagreeing with what he believes.

Cus reducing women to vaginas is pretty much the Dems M.O. But hey, liberals are the party of the Klan as well, so it kind of makes sense.

If it was all about the 'lady parts' then we'd all be Democrats...

It takes balls to be a conservative.

To be fair I think the President has balls...he's just hiding them in a safe deposit box...with his birth certificate, his church attendence records, and his intellegence briefings.

Ann Coulter agrees. So does her giant adam's apple.

All these years, and you still haven't figured out how to spell that word. Or turn on spell-check. ;)

Meanwhile, do you suppose that secret undisclosed location might also contain Romney's tax returns or Dubya's service records?

They cover the proper spelling during the briefings, just ask the President...oh, wait...can't do that.

I do support some kind of inquiry into Ann Coulter's gender...maybe we can get Janet Reno to investigate.

America loves a winner!

False advertising, again, from Niki.

It's funny to watch the Left spin reality. According to them, if the GOP wins ( and they will) women will be FORCED to wear chastity belts, blacks will be back in chains, the poor will be forced to eat out dated pet food and have to PAY for their own aspirin, while the Rich dine on Kobe steaks and Russian caviar, under a champagne tower...

Oh, wait a second! That's how OBAMA rolls already! Silly me !

Pretty funny. Rappy accuses Niki of "false advertising" and accuse the left of "spin"...

...then immediately makes up a completely fabricated list of supposed fears if the GOP wins - so that he can once again avoid discussing the many actual laws they've tried to pass, which curtail women's rights.

His lack of understanding of irony is epic, if nothing else.

And then he'll whine that we're applying a double standard, for calling him out on lies - which he'll insist are totally true, but refuse to cite.

Why is "this place" so bad? Look no further than the raptard.

Really? Under Obama women are being FORCED to wear chastity belts, blacks are in chains, the poor are forced to eat outdated pet food, etc.?

Or is this just more of the usual lies from the right?
