So, they don't want underage rape victims to have access?

It's a moral dilemma.

Give 15 year-old girls the abortion pill without any questions or restricti8ons...

Or don't give 15 year-old girls the abortion pill until they reveal who raped them. Because it is a rape no matter what the circumstance are.

Either way they get the abortion pill, but one way allows a greater chance of preventing further assaults, and of locking up some of these statutory rapists.

So I'm with the Govt. on this one. The judge was wrong.

I'm confused. How is it always rape if a 15-year-old girl has sex? What if her partner is the same age? Wouldn't that be the most likely scenario?

And what if the girl really IS a rape victim but too scared or uncertain about whether she wants to press charges? It should be encouraged, sure, but denying her access to this medication unless she complies with some external demand to reveal her rapist is just another form of taking self-determination away, another form of violation.

Yeah, because most 15 year old girls don't lose their virginity to older boys.

lol.

As the age of consent in most states is now 16 ( It's 17 in Texas ) , there's something called STATUTORY rape.

Goodness. That's in no way terribly messy...

Still, imposing a compulsion to reveal the sex partner for the purpose of obtaining this medication is counter-productive in terms of the girl's well-being. It imposes a pretty hefty barrier in a time-sensitive situation. I can't see the dubious benefit outweighing the potential negative consequences.

Wow, this conversation got weird fast. Forcing 15 year old girls to reveal circumstances of their pregnancy in exchange for the pill? I'm kind of interested in the extreme views on so called liberty expressed by some. Who would think that is okay? And if a victim has been raped, its downright abusive behaviour.

However, I do have a concern about this being an over the counter medicine. Isn't the regular pill a prescription medication? These things should be used in consultation with seeing a medical professional because of the possible side effects.
