Love how that fox rears up on its hind legs and pounces on the ball. My husky use to do the same thing, when he played. Good stuff.

Yes, a VERY husky thing, ours did it all the time when they were younger. It's the "pounce" thing; coyotes, foxes, wolves, huskies, and yeah, I LOVE it! Oh, that they all stayed puppyish much longer than they do...sigh...

Huskies go on pouncing when they get older, both ours still do, just not as playfully. We always get some laughs on sniff walks...and it's amazing to me, they can see/hear things under the ground that we can't perceive, and their accuracy has been exhibited frequently!

Me, I enjoyed, as I noted, the golfers' comments...I don't know where it took place, but they were so engaged and...dare I say (sorry guys)...SWEET in how they viewed him. I enjoyed that.

But that damned duck...weird...

Glad you enjoyed. My work here is done. :o)

Even when he got older, ours would still raise up his front leg, tilt his head to one side, and do his show pony dance, when he was really into playing. It was a hoot to watch.

Oh, I WISH ours had kept that sense of puppy-ness. They make us laugh every day with their antics, but they haven't kept that one...now they only pounce seriously, for prey.

I just found one of their favorite toys, a squeaky plastic tennis shoe which had disappeared long ago under the stove. Had a mouse or rat in the kitchen, so cleaned out behind a bunch of stuff and there it was. Ever since then, Koch has been carrying it around, CRYING...she'll lose interest then for no recognizable reason go get it and carry it around or sit with it again, crying. Absolutely mystifies me--Tashi is the "toy" guy, tho' she fetches toys we throw and he doesn't, but why Shoe has suddenly grabbed her so, I canNOT figure out! Oh, the mind of a dog...

Shoe must hold fond memories of puppy years ? That's too funny.

Nope, we got him when she was over two. There was one before that, "Chicken"--the obviously rubber, squeaky kind, that was The Toy Of Choice for its entire life, until it was too ripped up to play with. And there was a Sproing (those are GREAT!) that she adored, would squish it squeakily for an hour or more at a time, joyfully (but not crying). Those three have been the only ones, of all the many, many, many toys we've bought them over time, that have stood out. The others they'll "fight" over and she'll fetch, and Tashi will bring us when he wants attention or I start wrassling with them.

They have a "toy box" in the hall, but seldom play with toys anymore...Tashi will go to it and rummage through it when I get them in "play" mode. He'll choose one and bring it to us, but he's lousy at "fetch" (most huskies are); we toss it in the air, he jumps awkwardly "at" it, then either stand there looking at it when it hits the ground, or grabs it shakes it a couple of times and drops it. Koch NEVER misses a catch, no matter how far away, how fast or anything. She nails it, and brings it. They're as different in their play as in everything else.

I'll have to get a video of her with Shoe; maybe you can ferret out what's happening. It has both of us totally mystified.

Certainly does seem to have some sentimentality. Maybe the mere fact that it's been lost for so long, and now found again, has her a bit perplexed and happy, at the same time. Dunno. Might be some sort of separation thing.

Okay, I followed her around a couple of times today and caught her with Shoe. Usually she's much more energetic about it, but it was warm and she'd already had a run and breakfast, so this is the best I could find.

Opinion(s)?
