Somewhere between 2,000 (BBC) and 10,000 (Zerohedge) demonstrators turned out in Moscow's Manezhka Square to protest the sentences of Alexei Navalny and his brother Oleg.

Navalny, a campaigner against corruption, plutocracy, United Russia generally and Vladimir Putin specifically was convicted of stealing $16million from a state timber company. He was sentenced to five years under house arrest and his brother to five years in jail.

Navalny came second in the Moscow mayoral race because he was allowed to campaign while under arrest. However, the amount of support that he has outside of some urban centers is unknown.

The site you use as a source, Zero Hedge, has been described as offering a "deeply conspiratorial, anti-establishment and pessimistic view of the world".

It's not healthy spiritually to let this form of thinking dominate you. It is apparent to anyone who converses with you that you see the world only in negative ways.

THUGR, I have described Zerohedge as my "go-to site for apocalyptic thinking". I've also told people that their articles are always talking about THE END! of something- the end of the dollar, the end of civilization, the end of the stock market, the end of shale oil ...

BUT. They get their news FAST. And they publicize items that nobody else does. So, as I've told my friends here ... if you've got a good shitscreen installed, then go wading into Zerohedge. And I STILL recommend it. It's a great source for interesting news. Check it out. (Install shitscreen first.)

And I see you've dragged YET ANOTHER thread off-topic by attacking me.

So, what about those demonstrations? Are they significant?

And is Navalny REALLY guilty of stealing $16 million from a state-owned timber company? Because in all of the glowing things the western press writes about him, that's the one thing they don't touch. I know, because I've looked across several MSM websites for info, going back to 2011.
