Russian agency creates army of trolls to spread Internet panic, propaganda: report

"A Russian agency employs hundreds of "trolls" to wreak havoc on the Internet, bolster support for the Kremlin and spread panic in the U.S., according to a report.

The Internet Research Agency creates hundreds of online personas that support the Russian government and burn the Obama administration, the New York Times Magazine reported.

Though the purpose of the agency — like its dealings — are shady, the IRA has been linked to hundreds of social media accounts that claim fake U.S. disasters are occurring: a chemical leak in Louisiana, an Ebola outbreak in Atlanta and a fatal police shooting of an unarmed black woman."

You have only to read the comments section of any Washington Post article about Russia to see the massive number of Russian trolls that reply. Some of their posts are so obviously run through Russian-English translation software that its almost funny.

I think some do it out of a sense of inferiority. Like our two friends here. To bad because when you see the lies they post on behalf of Putin, they loose all credibility in other threads.
