I'm stumped at the moment, maybe I'll come up with something when I get a few beers in me.

Whellll.

I see these kinds of articles all the time. Usually it's just people that get smashed and then go in other people's houses and do whatever they do in their own when they are smashed. Most of the time they just take a shower and a nap, but occasionally they do the dishes and fold laundry, too. About every 30th one will get shot, which is surprisingly good odds for that activity.

I'd say title it "People get smashed like Whoz" but it's not very funny.

Happy Freaking Almost Memorial Day Whoz.

PS, might wanna lock yourself in if you get the urge to clean this weekend

Trying to come up with a title, but the more I thought about the whole situation, the more terrifying it became.

I'm glad the police are taking it seriously.

"Terrifying" is more when someone boils your pet bunny, but being a guy-I can understand how the thought of a clean bathroom would disturb you, yeah.

Yeah. Because that's what the terrifying thing about the scenario was.

This reminds of that scene from "Brazil" when Robert De Niro breaks into the guys apartment to fix his A/C.

lol. What a goofy and great scene from an goofy and great movie. One of my all time faves (with the non-Hollywood ending, of course )

I had problems with the new management that had bought the apartment complex of my last apartment when I lived in Wisconsin. I told them to go scratch when they tried giving me a lease that wanted me to agree and sign that I wouldn't smoke in my apartment that I'd been smoking in the previous 4 years. Since I went without a lease, they increased my rent by $120 per month over the last two years I had lived there, calling the $60/mo increase the fee I had to pay for going month to month (I had already been going month to month with zero increase with the previous management for 3 years prior).

They kept finding "emergencies" to necessitate them coming into my apartment every month or so the last year I lived there. It started before my brother left and got married, and ramped up the last half year before I finally left. It got so that I suspected that when I wasn't home they were coming in the place. My suspicions were confirmed when I was in my boxers in my bedroom an heard somebody in my apartment. Somebody used the key and walked right in to check out some supposed leaking pipes in one of the bathrooms that had supposedly been causing damage to the tenants below me for months at that point.

After that, I took to wedging a metal chair on the doorknob when I was home. One day I woke up to a bunch of loud banging and I ran out to the living room, again in my boxers, to see that some asshole had actually pushed so hard to get in the apartment that he managed to open the door far enough to get in even though there was a chair propped up tightly under the doorknob on a carpet.

When I asked him WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING??? his reply to me was that he was scheduled to paint in my apartment that day. He even had the gear out in the hallway. It would have been funny, how he really played dumb about it and had all the gear waiting in the hallway, if I hadn't just caught him in the act of breaking and entering my apartment.

I told him there was no such painting scheduled for the day and to get the fuck out of my apartment before I called the police.

I moved out next month and swore that I'd never get an apartment again.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

What the article doesn't make clear was "How long was the family away before they returned"?

A day?
A week?
An hour?
The reason why I'm wondering is ... maybe someone came in to sleep there for a while, and cleaned up afterwards as "payment".

In any case, it IS creepy when someone comes into your house and does something, even if it's something beneficial. If they came in once, they could do it again. If someone got in once, so could someone else. It's a good thing he changed the locks, I would probably invest in some additional security too.
